This will be my last FP dish drawer
The 3rd in 11 years because my home came with one and it just seemed easier to replace with next FP dish drawer model rather than reconfigure my kitchen. Next time I will try the Bosch dish drawer on consistent recommendations from several repair men in the industry who say they are the best dishwashers and these are the worst. They guy who did the change over on mine said that it was his 3rd FP dish drawer that day and all were under 3 years old.
Forget about doing plastics or more delicate items in the FP dishdrawer, eco cycles or a fast...Read more
wash. Ive had this only for a month and despite filters being cleaned every couple of days it simply doesn't clean or dry unless it's on the Heavy Wash with no eco setting. Its not little spots, it's whole bowls and plates that barley look like they have even been rinsed and appears to have no assisted drying at all. My dishwasher is never over packed and always has plenty of space between items to clean. At least my last dish drawers where good till they weren't for a year or two before struggling to do a decent wash cycle and start throwing out all the other problems typical with these FP dish drawers. Its only saving features is that this one actually does (only just) take larger dinner plates in the vertical stack on one side. This one is also the nicest looking in my kitchen but of course that means you sacrifice a digital display telling you how long it has to go or showing the time delay, you can still use those functions but you will need to keep a manual record in your head of what it is. Not really acceptable in this day and age, stainless steel good looking appliances everywhere at much lower price points have easily integrated this and from all reports seem to be more reliable. Overpriced and average which is a shame since the idea of it is so genious. I guess FP have maintained returned customers like myself because their kitchens are modelled around having this dish drawer and they don't want the hassle of reconfiguration but now that others are bringing out dish drawers or know people with other models who get 10 years trouble free, I think their run in relying on this instead of really developing and improving their product is over. It certainly is for me - a bit of minor cabinetry adjustment will be far less hassle than buying another of these. Not a good feeling spending this type of money only to resolve to put up with it till the warranty runs out with its replacement already picked out only a month after purchase. At least the long heavy wash seems to do the job it needs to do *sigh*Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Single drawer dishwasher
This is an extremely quiet dishwasher and with it being single drawer it is is the perfect choice for a single person or a kitchen in a small unit. It has been so handy in my unit. Very happy that i chose Fisher & Paykel. You get what you pay for with this dishwasher for sure. Well and truly worth it.

Not happy
Have had never ending problems they replaced twice no better. Would start beeping randomly. Got sick of ringing them going to throw it OUT it's we quiet when not beeping. Took ages to dry dishes when it did work always in the end thought it would be a fire risk and started turning it off when out.

Very good and efficient but small
A great looking stainless steel dishwasher, it's not noisy and plates were always clean. There were a few downsides like for more than 1 person the dishwasher is too small and also there are no buttons on the inside to stop it in case you need too. It came with a remote control but the battery died after a year or so. Overall I would recommend this dishwasher if you have a small kitchen with limited space and live by yourself. If there are like 2-3 people you would definitely need a bigger dishwasher.

Great produced despite a bump in the road
I have had this for about a year and it cleans very well. However it does tend to leave some residue if the machine is not full enough. It is very quiet and perfect for a small household (couple).
Last week it broke down, however the f&p rep that I spoke with over the phone was very helpful, the next available appointment was over a week away, so I just took that and I told him I would try call back in a few more days to see if anything earlier comes up. To my surprise, I actually received a call from f&p themselves the next day, informing me...Read more

Bought two so they are side by side..no bending.
The quietest dishwasher I have ever owned....don't even know it is running. I'm sorry this model cannot have an integrated front panel but I have got used to the difference in the colours of the cupboards and the dishwasher ( I am a bit of a fanatic ). I usually use the longest cycle because I often mix pots and glasses...no problem with that though. Very sleek unit(s).PS. I am disappointed with the dish pellet dispenser in the cutlery container, I always have to put the pellet right into the unit. I think I might change to powder.

Ok to use
We upgraded our old Fisher and Paykel dishdrawer with this one in Feb. It certainly does the job, but we found sometimes it didn't clean the dishes completely as there is still some small oil stain or food let. We are not entirely happy with this product, but ok to use.

Fitment and ongoing usage
We had an initial problem with the installation. The harness at the rear was supposed to be hooked up to prevent hoses occluding the space where the actual dish drawer shuts. Consequently, the damn thing wouldn't shut until we got the installers to have a look at it. Fine after that. We found that square plates are not the best for the small washing cavity. Went back to round plates. The unit does not have a massive drying element in it so the final drying is not the same as previous washers we have used. For a couple living in a apartment, this is a godsend for saving cabinet space. Very very quiet.

My favorite appliance ever!
This single-drawer dishwasher is a star. It doesn't use a lot of water, it doesn't take long, its quiet and it does a perfect job. I have never had to rewash a thing and I do a very quick job of rinsing excess food off before I load just the messiest items. Its so easy to load, too.
First Fisher & Paykel appliance and it wasn't cheap but if it died tomorrow, I would have had my money's worth and I'd buy another one without hesitation

Ideal for a small household, or those unable to bend down.
This is ideal if you live in a small household, or if you are not able to bend down. It is very quiet, and cleans and dries the dishes well (except Eco mode does not dry the dishes). It has a well designed cutlery drawer, and the plate racks fold down to be able to fit other things in better.
The filter is very easily accessible, and easy to clean.
The downsides are if you have used a really big pan, then there isn't much room for anything else to fit in. Also you cannot fit your oven shelves in.
We have had this washer for several years now, without any breakdowns, and are still happy with it.

Glad not to bend anymore
Is neat, tidy unit that works well. Best feature is not needing to bend to floor anymore. Am disabled so that is very important. First time I can use a dishwasher in years as feel into bottom shelf of traditional unit several times trying to load and unload while sitting on my walker. Had to hire cabinet maker to build shelf for it to rest on as space from old unit too large, but worth the extra money.

OK
I bought one for lease my apartment, OK to use. There was one time tenant complain about the timer, but it turned out to be miss use. It is not aloud and can actually clean the dishes as required. Price is also OK.
There is no favorite feature to mention

F & P Single Dishdrawer Dish washer
I quite like this brand and product. I have had it for about 9 months.
i use dish powder as it works better than tablets.
The dish-drawer has a number of settings - i find the heavy setting works the best. I find that it is quite economical on water use and economical also on amount of dish cleaning powder.
The trick is to not overcrowd the dishwasher. However, surprisingly it holds a lot of dishes/saucepans. I quite like that the drawer has these plate/dish holders that can fold down for larger items.
I use a rinse/clean about once a month.
The dishes come out clean and sparkling.
It operates quietly - making a humming sound. It has a plastic blade and came with a basket for cutlery. it is made from stainless steel.

Just right for a couple with a small kitchen
We updated our 15 year old machine with a single drawer model which is a perfect size for us and allows for an extra storage area below. Very quiet compared to our previous model and really quite spacious. It is very easy to stack with racks which fold out of the way to allow for larger items. Dishes turn out sparkling clean and dry each time. We couldn't be happier.

I love the dishdrawer! This is my second one.
We renovate each house and I always install a dishdrawer. I love them especially with a small family when you have lots of little dishes. Perfect height so no leaning over. Easy to pack and empty. Lots of different cycles so you can choose a quick one (and eco options). I just have 1 dishdrawer as space underneath I use for additional kitchen drawer storage. Would recommend!

Big and NO bending
Model is DD90ST12 couldn't find it on your list. I chose it because I need a big dishwasher and I can't bend down so it suits me perfectly and it is very quiet. Because it is an integrated model It doesn't have any exterior signal indicators at all. I have a remote control that turns it on but I can't tell how far gone in the cycle or when it's finished so I would like it to have a light on the remote to show that. I don't like the filter at all there a small black mesh oblong about 2ins long which falls out when cleaning and it's a very difficult job to put back in place. A pull out drawer is a great idea.

Do not buy
I bought my apartment with a f&p dishdrawer and it lasted 8 years. The new one has packed it in 6 months out of warranty ie 2.5 years after purchase. I like the drawer itself, particularly how it is quiet. However the whole thing has been a fiasco.
1. It wasn't available in Australia for 2 months (and nobody said anything about that at purchase but I should have clued in when the installers wouldn't book a date in advance until I had possession).
2. They changed the positioning of vents and removed the front buttons. Since my drawer was integ...Read more

3rd mother board
We inherited 2 of these models in a house that we let out. Within 3 months both had stopped working, after eventually getting an engineer in and eventually replace the faulty electronics (3 visits over 2 months), both machines died again within days of each over, how long did they last 4 months! Each cost to date of fixing machines = $650 with one of the boards ($293) replaced under warranty, so expect $900 to fix again!! Cost of new machine $1000. Great product F&P.

Constantly improving
This is my third F&P dish drawer kitchen. We like to have two single drawers each at under-bench height for convenience: works really well for us. With each new model the product shows marginal improvement over the previous model and the DD60SDFX7 is the best yet. It has slightly less room than the previous model and doesn't have the little screen in the door that shows progress through the cycle. But it does a superb job of cleaning. The glassware comes out beautifully clean, it is silent in operation. I don't want to sound like a tout for F...Read more
&P and for the record, I had quality issues with earlier versions, and required a lot of service calls which were, thankfully covered by warranty, but at least their service support was good. I'm glad that I stayed with them this time.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Questions & Answers
Maria R.asked
Does 00 stay displayed after was is finished?
1 answer
If as you say the listing is monitored by Fisher & Paykel representatives, perhaps they may answer! Although I doubt it, as I didn't ever receive a reply to my letters to this lot... Sorry Maria, while I don't quite understand your question I can understand your frustration, as their instruction books are a disgusting mess. Can I say I have received a lot of help from a mechanic from a supplier here in Melbourne Australia. But this would only help if you are living in this region! One thing I can say, other than sorry! Never make the same mistake twice and tell your friends and family, these people treat their customers very poorly.
Wayne F.asked
When the dish drawer is finished, it beeps . If your not in the kitchen at the time, is there another indication that the cycle has finished?
Lou M.asked
Can this model be used as a benchtop dishdrawer? I'm renting and can't install it permanently.
