I'am a convert to Front Loaders
Great machine very easy to use
Plenty of washing cycle options
Cleans clothes as good as a top loader if not better.
Very effective spin cycle.
Ive read some reviews with people complaining about the length of the drainage hose, which i found not to be a problem as long as the drainage point is in the adjacent cupboard . I think the problem people are having is they are failing to unclip the drainage hose from the back of the machine .

Love love love this machine
Being a large family I’ve always invested wisely when it comes to washing machines, it’s such a headache choosing the right one, I was not disappointed with this one! There is nothing I don’t like about it. I love the super quick wash.. 15 minutes! I love you can add more clothes in after it’s started, it’s super quiet I forget it’s on, it looks awesome and everyone comments on it!! Worth every cent!

Love It!
Went from a f&p top loader to this and am not disappointed! I get my washing done in half the time. There is a super quick wash option that lasts for 15minutes...it isnt loud. It has a great energy rating and fits my king quilt covers
Very happy with my purchase.

I’ve converted to a front loader
I used a top loader for over 20years and was forced to convert to a front loader due to my new home having limited space in the laundry. I did a lot of research, read reviews went and looked at lots of different machines and landed on the F&P 8.5kg front loader.
Washes clothes beautiful, was very surprised. Was very efficient our water bill is much nicer now!
The smart short cycles are great when you have lots of loads to do. I love that you can add clothes mid cycle.
A couple of suggestions I would make include designing a higher machine...Read more

Wow!
This is a great washer. Great functions. We have a large family and a lot of laundry. Some of the aspects of this washer that I have been impressed with are its ability to get a lot of laundry done quickly if you have a dryer that will keep up. Its large capacity allows for much bigger loads and the normal wash cycle can usually have it done under 60 minutes. These options can take a long time but this washer is very good at getting washables clean.

Great machine
Its got a pretty good design thats very user friendly.
Handles day to day clothes and very soiled workwear pretty well and it runs as quiet as a mouse compared to my old machine.
It doesn’t rattle and shake when on spin which is nice.
Solid little machine to get the job done

Impressive
I've been using a top loader ever since and had to replace my last one. I heard that front loader does better compared to top loaders in terms of efficiency, cost and wash quality. Headed to Good Guys to get this one and I was impressed by the simplicity of this unit. The controls are basically the same as my old Fisher P. top loader although display was more digitalised and easy to understand. I can also modify some of the setting for my washing preferences except for the washing timer. The unit is quiet, looks tough and with good quality in over all aspect.

Great machine
We purchased this machine a month ago Fromm Harvey Norman and are glad we did. We use the every day cycle with mix loads (59 minutes) and clothes come out perfect every time. Quiet on the spin cycle and quiet alert when the load has finished. The quick cycle is also effective just don’t overload.

Works Well for Our Large Family
So far so good, I’ve had this machine for a week now replacing a four year old Samsung and it’s on everyday as I have four small kids and do an average of 16 loads a week. It’s nice and big, plenty of settings to suit different needs and the 1400rpm spin means less time on the line or dryer which is great when you have several loads per day to get through. The ‘bulky’ setting is good for dealing with bedding which is something the Samsung struggled with and would unbalance and not spin. It has a good energy and water rating as well and was on special too, so we saved there. Hopefully it can handle the constant use and last longer than four years!

Love this machine!
Had to replace our LG front loader when that died, decided to try Fisher and Paykel as a family member swore by this brand. I absolutely love this washing machine. It has such a larger range of selections, 15, 30 and 60 min cycles I use the most. And the settings are more flexible, I.e. I can do a 30 min load on 60 deg which I couldn’t do on my old machine. It is super quiet too. It’s taken a while to get used to actually, I was always going into the laundry to check that it was still on!

Not great
Not really a fan of this machine for various reasons .
The finished wash was good. But getting there was not
Reverted to an upright after a few months.
The replacement -F&P WA8560G1
It doesn't have the same high spin rate, but removes more stains than the front loader did.
For me, the upright is a better option.

Fantastic washing machine!
Coming from a top loading machine, we were a little concerned that a front loader wouldn't do the same job but it does! This machine does an exceptional job and it doesn't take forever to clean your clothes. The "Everyday" cycle is done in just under an hour while the "Delicates" cycle only takes 45 minutes. We love the fact that you can customise the temperature and spin speed on all of the programmed cycles (that we use) and our clothes feel softer and cleaner than ever before. The 8.5kg capacity is great too. Highly recommended!

Washes Great
Washes clothes very good compared to my old top loader .Uses alot less water .Has a wide variety of settings to use . Pretty quite except for the faster spin option . Good for larger loads just have to be careful with the amount of detergent you put in for a small load suds up a bit . Use a washing bag for small items, Leaves a bit of suds and water in the door rubber after each cycle.

You are kidding! Drainage outlet hose far too short to reach sink without buying an extension.
..thus sent back as considered, in my opinion, a design fault and based on principal was sent back; you spend a good deal of money and expect to install and away you go, but no, the drainage hose was too short to reach the sink right next to the front loader. I'm standing there scratching my head, "Like WTH.. I have to go out and buy an extension, get stuffed.." So, item was sent back and now looking at a different brand front loader that caters for a sink on either side, not just one side. Friend has one and recommended it and am confident it's a great product but... some idiot at Fisher & Paykel needs an upper cut. Anyway, thanks for reading but just a heads up!

Waste hose is woefully short
Needed to install under bench and waste hose 600ml short to connect to sink spigot. No appropriate extension pipe with rubber grommet both ends. Contacted company by phone and email massive indifference. If you go to Harvey Norman and compare with other brands this product stands alone for such a short hose. It’s a product fault and they just don’t want to hear. Cost me money for plumber and to finally locate a fitting. Shocking service.

Great machine
I moved from a top to front loader and never looked back. Although the machine takes a little longer than I expected, the quality of the wash and rinse is great! I enjoy the wrinkle free setting as well as the 15 minute quick wash - really handy for smaller loads.

Does not work with cold water only intake
I am so disappointed. This machine has so many good features, size of drum, quietness, good cycle options, does a good wash...so what went wrong? The machine is supposed to work on cold water only and heat the water if you want to select a temperature, I have now had 2 machines in 2 and a half months, both with same fault which is that it won't work on cold only unless you only ever want to do cold washes. F & P have zero customer care. They do not communicate, they have a so what attitude on the phone, you get no apologies, the service guy takes forever to get to you and they offer nothing to assist. I will never buy a F & P product again.

Questions & Answers

Can anyone please advise whether they’ve had a problem with their machine not filling with water above 30 degrees at start up? Pipes and water inlet work fine and have been checked for any damage, flow and blockages.
F&P will assist, at a cost. Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

Why is F&P product support so lousy?
After calling support regarding a leak from the WH8560P2, I waited for 75 minutes before giving up. I then found their live chat, and the person on that had no support strategy other than to schedule a service call.
Other whitewoods manufacturers, eg Bosch, can provide technical suggestions for things that can be tried.

Can you soak in this machine? It looks like it doesn’t have a soak option but are you able to pause it allowing it the soak before continuing the cycle?
3 answers
Honestly I don't know. For my soiled clothes what works for me is add with your detergent a scoop of gold nappie san. It works for me. I still use cold water.
Thanks. So does this machine have a pause on it?
I am also trying to find the answer to this! Have contacted F&P but their answer is just stating the obvious- that there isnt a soak function, but thats not even my question! Has anyone used the pause button to effectively soak the clothes?
