My 2016 Mondeo diesel wagon has done 60,000 klm and has just had major service, transmission etc. Twice after long trips, on return journey yellow spanner light on dash comes on and it goes into a reduced power mode. I took it straight to Ford and it came up as an oil pressure issue . They checked everything and reset it but it happened again on next long trip. I reset it myself by brake and accelerator to floor and power was back. A guttsy lot of lowdown grunt makes it a great car to drive but what do you think??

Hi, I have a 2015 Ford Mondeo MD Ambient model. The rear shocks need to be replaced and I'm getting quotes for approx $800 per shock just for the part as they are electronic and adjustable?
Just wanted to check if anyone has dealt with the shock replacement before?
Cheers

Hi, I've got the same issue with the same model (after 120k kms), Ford has quoted me $1400 each for a rear shock! Interested to know where you got the $800 quote from. I'm also looking for a suitable non-genuine shock absorber, if anyone knows?
All my previous cars NEVER needed shocks replaced. Are you 100% the shocks need replacing? Sounds like another money grab from unscrupulous mechanics.

Hi there, just asking if anyone has taken their old head unit on a 2013 mc Mondeo and replaced it with a aftermarket unit, because to start with the wiring loom that they supply doesn't even have a accessories power wire only a constant power and also the dash lights up with low battery information on the warning symbol and no parking sensors work either . Can someone please give me feedback on this I don't know if there's a wire that should be connected on the wiring loom other then the earth main and accessories

I am thinking about buying 2008 FM. It's got 230k km. Price is $3300, they say "The car shows on the dash ( gearbox service required), so need a new service" will it be a good purchase?? Need a openion. Thank you

I'm not sure if that year model has a DCT in it, or a traditional Auto.
If it is anything except a tradition auto box, don't touch it. Gearbox problems in DSG can be BIG money.
I would call a dealer close to you and ask what a service would cost on the that transmission before you think about it.
Had a look on car sales and there seems to be a few for about $1000 more (you can also haggle), I'd buy one without the potential issues if your budget allows it.

Hi All. I was looking to buy 2012 Ford Mondeo zetec TDCI automatic (diesel) with 175,000 km on the clock. An older gentlemen is selling it cheap (around 6000$) in my suburb. I was looking to drive it for Uber (at least one year) due to its spacious interior / boot, and fuel economy. I have heard some bad reviews about its dual clutch transmission. Just asking folks out there, will it be a good buy. should i do pre-purchase inspection and how to do transmission check. what to look for ? etc. Thanks you.
1 answer
The gear box MUST be serviced every 60,000km. If your transmission hasn't been serviced to 175,000 I'd keep well clear. I've got a 2011 taxi mondeo with a transmission that's done 380,000km and still strong, but I've strictly serviced it every 60,000.

There is 2008 Ford Mondeo for sale with 260000 on the clock. Would that be a risky buy with that many km . Sale price $3995.

I would not buy that it's eleven years old maybe have to much bad history. On the other hand if you were in the market to buy a new Mondeo i would buy it.
2008 Mondeo's are absolutely lovely cars..We purchased a 2008 for $10,000 at Huston Ford in Kingaroy and it only had 53,000km on it..it came in the day before we went looking for a car..it was from an elderly couple and they were very gentle with it. So we were soo lucky to get this for $10,000 with 53,000 km and only 1 owner..and that was in 2017.Yes that's correct..
Your probably better off finding something else though as that is alot of mileage on the one your looking at. Something with less mileage. There is always a bargain out there u just need to look..

Hi I have a 2011 Ford Mondeo MC titanium and the driver footwell is full of water, what could this be from and how could I fix it?

Lift the drivers side carpet up and and look for a tube near the transmission tunnel-Refit the tube where it goes. This tube comes from the air conditioner and drains excess water.
Same thing happened to me. The tube under the carpet apparatus sells for around $20.
You just need to plug the tube back in its place, doubt theres a need to buy another one.

I would like to upgrade my standard interior with titanium leather, is the wiring for electric seats and seat heating already in my car before I start, does anyone know.
1 answer
No, but the electric seat will still work. Simple enough to wire it up if required. The cold air is just channeled via the underwear vents, it’s not very effective snyway

Hello all,
Unfortunately my 2012 Mondeo TDCI MC diesel wagon (162,000km) has got the dreaded and annoying transmission shudder (lurching under any load from stationary). Its had this for past 5mths or so, its got little worse. I need advice please, I really dont know what to do with it, do I spend over $7000 for a full reco Transmission (with 3yr warranty) or do I spend about $4000 approx on a used transmission to be fitted, and hope for the best ? Any advice much appreciated please

I have a 2011 mondeo tdci diesel that has 145kms and i had the exact same problem. Took it to jax tyres to get the transmission oil and fuel filter changed and it cost me $340. Drives like brand new.
Ok thanks for the response. I just discovered the Transmission oil level was 1 litre too low, so go that topped up and it did improve it only a little. Its def got worn out clutches. Bloody shitful Ford design !!!!
What did you end up doing?

Recently bought a second hand 2014 Ford Mondeo LX hatch. A few days ago we noticed that directly under the glovebox on passenger side there is no cover or panel to hide the wiring ect under there. There are also a few sharp edges. Took it to a Ford dealer & they couldn't tell us if it was meant to be like that. Hoping someone could tell us if there is definitely meant to be a cover. Thanks!

Have you got the emergency funnel for diesel cars. Usually located in the tyre repair kit. White if grey plastic funnel. Try to insert that into the car first then fill.
Two sizes of diesel filler nozzles, usually one on each side of pump . Smaller one fits Mondeo. Larger one known as Hi-flow, mainly for filling trucks, does not fit Mondeo.
