Very poor quality and drive. Beware
Drivers door trim makes knocking sound when you rest your arm on it. Brake pedal has flat spot and sometimes feel it engaging instead of consistent smooth action. Worse of all when you use climate control, automatic transmission is all over the place, holding onto 5th, thudding into first when stopped at lights, very erratic. Worse buying decision made in my 35 years driving.
Drive very well, my dashboard seems to be loose because it sqeeks if there are things in the glovebox.
Reliability I still have to check this one out because it died on me and i only have it for 16 month suspecting a battery hope that is the case. But if it is the battery I thinks that was a weak battery. A new car battery should last for 3-4 years. It is my wish to sort this out to continue enjoying the ford power.
25,000 k's and so far an excellent vehicle
Pros; The buying experience was excellent, the drive-train and gearbox is very smooth and powerful, the interior looks amazing, the electronics and safety features have been great except for a couple little things, the fit and finish feels and looks very premium, plus much more.
Cons; Paint is extremely thin. I scratched it down to the primer on the inside door the second day I had it. But a decent hard shell wax coat helps with this issue, The gear ratio is a little short in first and second gear for city driving. I'm sure its better for of...
Read moref road stuff, The adaptive cruise control has kicked in and slowed me down for a vehicle that was either turning right in a separate lane or on the shoulder of the road. The auto high beams sometimes turn off when they reflect of a shiny surface. There was no centre anchor point in the back seat for a baby carrier. All in all a really great vehicle ford has produced here. I would definitely recommend for those interested in a top of the line 4x4 duel cab.I own a 2016 XLT dual cab with tech pack manual. We Have had it for 3 and half weeks now, done 2200 km, seems to be breaking in well, the more we drive it the better it feels. Getting around 9.7 L / 100 kms combined driving at the moment, so the trip computer says, but in saying that we haven't been giving it much stick, as its still bedding in. Yes paints a bit thin, feels like it could of done with a thinker coat.
Not too sure about the auto start/stop feature that come with the manual models, plus gear ratio seems a bit weird, 1st gear is s...
Read moreuper low, 2nd feels fine, 3rd feels like forth and can drone and bog down a bit if revs are not up. The vehicle can sometimes be bit hard finding right gear in suburban driving. Engine feels ok, can be bit loud on the ears in the cabin, as in tapping noise and general diesel engine sound. Interior ok just typical ford really, nothing special gets the job done. The touch screen command centre is a bit disappointing, the vehicle has been fitted with the outdated sync 2 unit same as the fg-x falcons, sync 3 would if been far better option and would of future proofed a bit better. Sync 2 is slow and clumsy and the sat nav is very painful and hard to use. screen gets very dirty with fingerprints and can be bit hard to see in bright sunlight . Could of done with a hidden usb port for ipods etc in glovebox, so you didn't have to leave unit on top of the centre console using up precious real estate, all very minor issues but if it's the worst I can write about this vehicle then in my eyes it must be pretty good. Oh and one another small issue, If they aren't going to fit keyless entry then a light for the ignition would of been helpful, can be bit frustrating at night fumbling with the keys trying to fit in the barrel, nothing major really...just nit picking, no car is perfect ...but I'm really happy so far and still feel we made the right choice in vehicle and hope it stays this way.

It has been towed back to the dealer twice in the last 6 months
I have loved my ford Ranger, best ute I have ever owned.
However as soon as it ran out of warranty i have had turbo problems.
It has been towed back to Power Ford Twice in the last 6 months
I ran Ford customer service line and they didn't want to help me .
May have to go back to a hilux, at lest i know the intercooler will last longer than 60000km

Almost 10/10 but I have to agree with the comment regarding the paint work. Theres almost no clear coat because the paint in places scratches so easy. This is my first ute so I expect the paint to be at least as good as a sedan. I'm talking about minor scratches that go right through the colour. Otherwise it's one hell of a vehicle, comfortable, plenty of torque, great tide and quiet. I've had mine since July 2015 and towed my 2500 kg caravan up from Melbourne effortlessly. I am surprised and saddened some people have had mechanical issues. Mines done 15k and my only complaint is the paint and both inside front door handles have peeled their chrome away.
I purchased the new ranger six months ago, as I trade my Utes in every three years, I've had the Hilux, Rodeo, and Navara. This ute kicks their butts, quiet on the road, good fuel economy and mobs of power. I do a lot of country driving and it's excellent, a mate who loves his Tritons borrowed it and came back said he was trading the triton in on the ranger.
Yes I've had a warranty call, but a minor issue with a rough gear change was sorted out in a couple of hours, towing my two tonne caravan returns 12lt per 100km

Just warning people about the torque converters on Rangers, ours just had to be replaced recently after just 60,000klms at a cost of $4290, we were told by the dealer that our Ranger was not the first they have had a torque converter fail on. I will be getting rid of it soon and would never recommend a Ranger again to anyone!
AWESOME !!!!! is one word to describe this Ute.
From the very first time I seen this ute I was attracted to it immediately compared to everything else available on the market Ford Ranger comes out on top in every category, Hilux is old tired and white good boring compared to the Ranger, I've had no reliability issues so far, performance is perfect and interior is holding up strong from my busy trading business, all in all if your in the market for a strong attractive ute the Ranger is your ultimate best pick.

I purchased a 2015 brand new ford ranger & the clear finish that is applied to the paintwork is crap!
You cannot clean off bird poop with water & a sponge without scratching the clear finish or finger nail scratches under the door handle ( I have short nails !) The frustrating part is that neither the dealer or ford want to know about it....they don't give a damn. NO MORE FORD for me!
New car used to drive bt50 before I drove the new Ford ranger. Gear stick knob feel Off in my hand and missed in second gear in a roundabout only 20,000 on the clock not happy what the hell Ford. Your fuel hose into the tank is weak like your customer service.
