Honestly this lived up the hype. After watching reviews on YouTube from Marcus aka mkhb and Lau aka unbox therapy I was already a fan. If you've been watching the videos about blue tint on the phone when you look at it on an angle you will see it. I saw it but honestly it didn't bother me because I don't look at my phone on that angle a recent update from Google gives you an option now to change your colours from natural, boosted and saturated.
My original order a 64GB from jbi hifi was dead on arrival link provided https://youtu.be/zWvRBQkB...
Read moredZI I took it back the next day and got a replacement and upgraded to the 128GB version. I store my Spotify playlist on my phone which is about 40GIG no problem. The videos and the photos get uploaded to cloud on wifi when you get home as a default. The phone will opt you to archive this data or delete from device to save room. I brought this phone for the camera and monthly updates. The camera lives up to my expectations best part is OIS and EIS. Best of both worlds. Only complaint is the portrait mode which didn't blur the subject properly but it's been getting better as you get updates. The battery is lots better than the original pixel XL. i found myself not charging my battery overnight as i charge it at work using their electricity and in the car when I use Waze. But if you need a quick charge before going out in half an hour it's up 40% which will get you through the night This phone you need some type of protection don't kid yourself. I got the rhinosheild bumper from https://rhinoshield.io/pages/main-page/Google?device=google-pixel-2-xl&category=crashguard&prod=google-pixel-2-xl-bumper-case I'll be reviewing this next with dbrand skin combo- Date Purchased

I have had this phone since November and prior to that I had the first Google pixel. This phone is fast, the camera is exceptional, it's easy to use and water resistant which is great for my clumsy self. The only downfall is the lack of headphone jack. I'd prefer if it had one.

Fantastic phone. Best phone I have ever owned, fast, fantastic screen, awesome storage for phone and using online storage and great battery life. The camera is upgraded from the previous years model too and is probably the best part of the phone. Is also great for the latest media and gaming available to handheld devices

I got it on a swap lease plan from Telstra. Amazingly fast device. The best of the best from Google. Great camera and unlimited Google Photos storage is the best feature of the phone. Can't imagine living without it. Finger print unlocking feature works like a charm without any issue all the time.

While many people have dismissed the display, I find the 'natural/accurate' colours feel really good. It might take a few weeks getting used to, but once you do, saturated displays do not look good at all.
Buttery smooth experience and quick updates of the Android OS is great and definitely a huge plus.
The unlimited high resolution storage for photos means you never have to worry about running out of space.
I do however, wish it had a headphone jack. The adapter isn't always 100% reliable I have found.
Overall, probably one of my favourite phones I've owned, if not, my favourite.

If youre looking for the top of the line android smartphone the Pixel 2 XL is the one to get. Boasting excellent hardware AND software specs with the latest ongoing android software updates you will love using this phone - especially the camera! Quite big for average hands so test it out in store. Also the screen is not as nice as the galaxy s8 phones but is decent. Also quite pricey but if thats no issue, its worth the money

The Pixel xl 2 is easily the best phone I have ever owned coming from using sony, samsung and even iphone. THe lightning fast response time of the UI is amazingly refreshing and the integration with all google products makes most daily routines easier to manage. the camera is the best part of the phone too! amazing from top to bottom

I read such mixed reviews before getting this phone - but it's been a dream. I had a Note 4 previously, but using stock Android for the first time has made me realize what I was missing out on. The Pixel 2 XL is a dream. The squeeze feature felt a bit gimmicky to begin with, but now I couldn't imagine not having it. The finger print scanner placement if perfect too. Only downside is no headphone port, but I'm getting used to it.

Haven't had any of the issues that others have had with the screen. The camera quality is great, the sound is OK but not perfect. Only faults I've had have mainly been with the software and some apps which have had constant bugs. If you're looking for an Android phone, I definitely recommend this one.

This is the best phone I have ever purchased in my life! Very powerful and the fact that it is "open" makes it very easy to use and transfer files between phone and a computer. Also it has the best camera ever. The blue tint on display is not obvious.

Bought this phone over Christmas. Absolutely amazing. The photo quality is unreal - you get photos that look like they've been taken by a DSLR. The easiest way to describe pixel's software is that it's a cross between android and apple iOS. Everything is beautiful and very streamlined. The software is easy to use and doesn't overwhelm you with options like I found on my other android phones. As a result you get a smooth experience that feels very precise - similar to using an iphone. My favourite thing about pixels is that your pictures are upl...

There is only 1 thing I would change about this phone and it would be switching from and LG made OLED display to a Samsung made one. The screen has a few niggles such as black smear and grain at low brightness levels. To be fair all OLEDs suffer from these but this is a little more than Samsung's current gen panels.
But in saying that there is no other phone I would choose for all the other positives of this phone. The screen becomes a non issue and it's not bad but I do occasionally notice it's quirks.
The good? Smooth. It OS is buttery smo...

The good: Lightning fast and comes with the best possible camera inside a smartphone. Guaranteed to get 3 years of updates, which is much more than any other Android device.
The bad: Feature light compared to it's competitors (Galaxy S/Note line and iPhone) and a display that's really lacking compared to the aforementioned devices.

Whilst it took a few days to get use to the 6inch size & I had to adjust how I handle the phone when texting etc, its so worth it! The screen is beautiful (yes it has a slight blue tinge when the phone is tilted but I barely notice it now) & it's so fast! Hasn't skipped a beat & I give it quite a work out every day. The pure android experience is everything I had hoped it would be. And as for the fast charge capability, 100% in 15 mins is mind blowing!
If you are procrastinating over this, stop right now & just go for it. You won't regret it!

If you are looking for a great stock Android experience this is where to go,
great camera and integrated well with everything that Google does which is great because all of their services available are an almost top tier.
The only issues I have had are it can heat a bit while fast charging, however, it charges so quickly that it hasn't been a problem.

Although it might be considered a pricy phone, you are paying a premium for a reason. The phone is very quick and receives updates regularly. The camera is a highlight and is one of the best cameras to date on a smartphone. There are known issues on the pixel 2 regarding display however, it is not a deal breaker at all and should not stop someone from purchasing the device.

So by now you guys will have heard about the blue screen off centre to direct view, squelchy sound when recording video, and crackling speakers.
Well, the blue tinge is a mountain out of a mole hill. I personally cannot detect it on mine at all, and when others look at it and I ask them about it they say MAYBE but hard pressed to see it. I would not take that issue seriously it's been blown way out of proportion. No burn in here either and I've had it 3 months now.
The squelchy sound when recording video is 100% fixed with an update. No m...
Read moreore issues with that at all. Pretty unprofessional to send these units out the door with the problem but at least that's all fixed. As for the crackling speakers. Unfortunately my unit developed that problem almost immediately. Once you hit say 75% volume, it sounds like one of the speakers is blown. THIS really sucks for a phone of that price. I really do hope Google will be more open and do something to fix that (Unlike the early shutdown problem on my 6P where they did NOTHING). I'm not holding my breath. So why still 4/5? Because simply it is the most brilliant phone I've ever had in my hands. The camera is RIDICULOUSLY good with colour and sharpness. Battery life is simply AMAZING and I cannot find a single thing (apart from the speaker) I can complain about. It really is that good. My wife has a Note 8 and to me it doesn't even come close (although the 2nd zoom camera lens is pretty cool). I forgive the speaker as it will be too hard to get it exchanged (because both Telstra and Google suck at that kind of stuff), other than that fantastic- Date Purchased

No doubt it is expensive, but I think it certainly worth the money.
Photo quality is the best out of all the phones available in the market as of today.
I don't carry my DSLR that often now because the photos it take are absolutely stunning, especially with HDR enabled.

Here are the top reasons why you need to buy this phone:
- Pure Android with no over the top skins like Samsung's Touchwiz that add some extra features at the cost of buttery smooth performance.
- Monthly updates which I never thought were a big deal (being a long term Samsung user) but after getting this phone and seeing what can be turned on after a software update, I don't think I can go back.
- The Visual Core AI chip to take better photos that got turned on after the November software update which improved the camera (if it was even possible) and will keep improving it as it learns more.
- That camera! Can't say much more, you need to just see it in action to believe it. Pro tip: try out the panorama mode.

Buttery smooth performance, phenomenal camera. The screen is huge and the bezels fade away. The finger print sensor on the back is perfectly placed for quick unlocking. The speakers are loud and clear. Knowing that photos can be backed up to Google Photos in their highest quality provides a lot of peace of mind. The only draw back is the lack of head phone jack, requiring use of either the included USB-C -> 3.5mm or a set of separately purchased Bluetooth headphones.

This phone is the worst phone I have ever had. The phone calls drop in and out and Telstra say they have done what they needed to, to fix it. Still have issues and my client's cant hear me, hear themselves and the phone calls drop out suddenly. I cannot use a phone charger at the same time as using a headset. There is no headset jack on the handset which is absurd. I was on holiday when I noticed this and by the time I got home to investigate the phone calls dropping out, I noticed the lens on the back of the camera was cracked. The reason I b...
Read moreought the phone is because of the camera, yes the camera was good...until somehow the back lens glass broke. I had a Spigel cover over it which was meant to be one of the best, and somehow the glass on the lens cracked. I haven't dropped it and it was well looked after. Google help has been ridiculous and there is only 1 repair centre in Australia and they didn't return my call. Telstra don't want to help as they don't know what to do. Tried googling issues and looks like other people have had the same issue with their lens glass breaking. Probably a known issue to Google, however they wont warrant the handset.- Date Purchased

Needed a new 0hone after dropping my Samsung. Love to take instagram photos and what better phone than the pixel 2. The camera is amazing esp with the portrait effect of blurring out the background. Phone is super easy to use as well and does well. The charge is amazing and despite me using the phone all day at work, it lasts 2 days!!!!

Pros:
- Battery life is fantastic, and is holding well for another 6-7 months.
- Display is fine (I don't understand the big deal)
- Software is absolutely smooth and lightning fast.
- Camera. Holy crap the camera is the best I've seen. Combine with the unlimited original photo storage with Google photos. Bloody amazing.
Cons:
- No headphone jack. Yes it does come with a Usb-C to 3.5mm jack, however, if you lose it, it's out of stock on the google store. The ones on Ebay aren't compadible. It just isn't a consumer friendly move.

With this phone, what you're getting is an absolutely smooth and quick phone that does not slow down with time and does not come with unwanted bloatware and crapware. It's hardware execution could be a little better, I had speaker distortion with loud buzzing sounds from the top front speakers twice and had to return it twice. yes, there might be fancier bling hardware like the s8 and iphone X, and yes this is absurdly expensive, but once you get past those two facts, this is a stunning phone.
