Best phone ever made, despite the display
There is only 1 thing I would change about this phone and it would be switching from and LG made OLED display to a Samsung made one. The screen has a few niggles such as black smear and grain at low brightness levels. To be fair all OLEDs suffer from these but this is a little more than Samsung's current gen panels.
But in saying that there is no other phone I would choose for all the other positives of this phone. The screen becomes a non issue and it's not bad but I do occasionally notice it's quirks.
The good? Smooth. It OS is buttery smo...Read more

Excellent but not without it's flaws
The good: Lightning fast and comes with the best possible camera inside a smartphone. Guaranteed to get 3 years of updates, which is much more than any other Android device.
The bad: Feature light compared to it's competitors (Galaxy S/Note line and iPhone) and a display that's really lacking compared to the aforementioned devices.

Best phone I've ever owned!
Whilst it took a few days to get use to the 6inch size & I had to adjust how I handle the phone when texting etc, its so worth it! The screen is beautiful (yes it has a slight blue tinge when the phone is tilted but I barely notice it now) & it's so fast! Hasn't skipped a beat & I give it quite a work out every day. The pure android experience is everything I had hoped it would be. And as for the fast charge capability, 100% in 15 mins is mind blowing!
If you are procrastinating over this, stop right now & just go for it. You won't regret it!

Everything I wanted out of this phone
If you are looking for a great stock Android experience this is where to go,
great camera and integrated well with everything that Google does which is great because all of their services available are an almost top tier.
The only issues I have had are it can heat a bit while fast charging, however, it charges so quickly that it hasn't been a problem.

Best Android Flagship
Although it might be considered a pricy phone, you are paying a premium for a reason. The phone is very quick and receives updates regularly. The camera is a highlight and is one of the best cameras to date on a smartphone. There are known issues on the pixel 2 regarding display however, it is not a deal breaker at all and should not stop someone from purchasing the device.

Unfortunately not quite perfect
So by now you guys will have heard about the blue screen off centre to direct view, squelchy sound when recording video, and crackling speakers.
Well, the blue tinge is a mountain out of a mole hill. I personally cannot detect it on mine at all, and when others look at it and I ask them about it they say MAYBE but hard pressed to see it. I would not take that issue seriously it's been blown way out of proportion. No burn in here either and I've had it 3 months now.
The squelchy sound when recording video is 100% fixed with an update. No m...Read more
ore issues with that at all. Pretty unprofessional to send these units out the door with the problem but at least that's all fixed. As for the crackling speakers. Unfortunately my unit developed that problem almost immediately. Once you hit say 75% volume, it sounds like one of the speakers is blown. THIS really sucks for a phone of that price. I really do hope Google will be more open and do something to fix that (Unlike the early shutdown problem on my 6P where they did NOTHING). I'm not holding my breath. So why still 4/5? Because simply it is the most brilliant phone I've ever had in my hands. The camera is RIDICULOUSLY good with colour and sharpness. Battery life is simply AMAZING and I cannot find a single thing (apart from the speaker) I can complain about. It really is that good. My wife has a Note 8 and to me it doesn't even come close (although the 2nd zoom camera lens is pretty cool). I forgive the speaker as it will be too hard to get it exchanged (because both Telstra and Google suck at that kind of stuff), other than that fantasticSimilar opinion? The best phone in 2017
No doubt it is expensive, but I think it certainly worth the money.
Photo quality is the best out of all the phones available in the market as of today.
I don't carry my DSLR that often now because the photos it take are absolutely stunning, especially with HDR enabled.

Best camera phone in the business
Here are the top reasons why you need to buy this phone:
- Pure Android with no over the top skins like Samsung's Touchwiz that add some extra features at the cost of buttery smooth performance.
- Monthly updates which I never thought were a big deal (being a long term Samsung user) but after getting this phone and seeing what can be turned on after a software update, I don't think I can go back.
- The Visual Core AI chip to take better photos that got turned on after the November software update which improved the camera (if it was even possible) and will keep improving it as it learns more.
- That camera! Can't say much more, you need to just see it in action to believe it. Pro tip: try out the panorama mode.

Best phone I've ever owned
Buttery smooth performance, phenomenal camera. The screen is huge and the bezels fade away. The finger print sensor on the back is perfectly placed for quick unlocking. The speakers are loud and clear. Knowing that photos can be backed up to Google Photos in their highest quality provides a lot of peace of mind. The only draw back is the lack of head phone jack, requiring use of either the included USB-C -> 3.5mm or a set of separately purchased Bluetooth headphones.

Do not read all the fake reviews!
This phone is the worst phone I have ever had. The phone calls drop in and out and Telstra say they have done what they needed to, to fix it. Still have issues and my client's cant hear me, hear themselves and the phone calls drop out suddenly. I cannot use a phone charger at the same time as using a headset. There is no headset jack on the handset which is absurd. I was on holiday when I noticed this and by the time I got home to investigate the phone calls dropping out, I noticed the lens on the back of the camera was cracked. The reason I b...Read more
ought the phone is because of the camera, yes the camera was good...until somehow the back lens glass broke. I had a Spigel cover over it which was meant to be one of the best, and somehow the glass on the lens cracked. I haven't dropped it and it was well looked after. Google help has been ridiculous and there is only 1 repair centre in Australia and they didn't return my call. Telstra don't want to help as they don't know what to do. Tried googling issues and looks like other people have had the same issue with their lens glass breaking. Probably a known issue to Google, however they wont warrant the handset.Similar opinion? Best buy ever
Needed a new 0hone after dropping my Samsung. Love to take instagram photos and what better phone than the pixel 2. The camera is amazing esp with the portrait effect of blurring out the background. Phone is super easy to use as well and does well. The charge is amazing and despite me using the phone all day at work, it lasts 2 days!!!!

4.5/5 phone. Fantastic daily driver.
Pros:
- Battery life is fantastic, and is holding well for another 6-7 months.
- Display is fine (I don't understand the big deal)
- Software is absolutely smooth and lightning fast.
- Camera. Holy crap the camera is the best I've seen. Combine with the unlimited original photo storage with Google photos. Bloody amazing.
Cons:
- No headphone jack. Yes it does come with a Usb-C to 3.5mm jack, however, if you lose it, it's out of stock on the google store. The ones on Ebay aren't compadible. It just isn't a consumer friendly move.

Best phone I've had, great software, hardware lacking.
With this phone, what you're getting is an absolutely smooth and quick phone that does not slow down with time and does not come with unwanted bloatware and crapware. It's hardware execution could be a little better, I had speaker distortion with loud buzzing sounds from the top front speakers twice and had to return it twice. yes, there might be fancier bling hardware like the s8 and iphone X, and yes this is absurdly expensive, but once you get past those two facts, this is a stunning phone.

The best phone I have ever had
The Google pixel phone in incredible !!! The photos are out of this world amazing. You do pay a lot for it, but certainly worth the money. The XL screen is great. I'll never go back to a small screen again. I changed from HTC over to this phone and wow!!! Worth it.

Everything I have ever wanted in a phone
I have had multiple other Android phones and even the occasional iPhone, but this is by far the best phone I have ever owned. The camera alone is worth the money. Being a photographer, the camera had to be perfect. And it is.
Some say the size of the phone is too big, but I have big hands. I pick up my wife's Pixel 2 and it just feels small now.
You can watch videos in stereo with the 2 large front-facing speakers.
I still miss the Headphone Jack every now and then. I don't need Bluetooth headphones.
The battery will last all day even if I am using it all day long.

Feature packed, huge but excellent mobile phone
So, after a long wait for a good deal, I landed up getting my Google Pixel 2 XL from JB HiFi on Australia day.
Below are some of my findings of this phone.
PROS
1. Great display, thanks to OLED
2. Huge screen 6 inches thus this phone quite big for small hands and difficult to fit in your jeans pocket. So, if you don't like big mobiles, you can go for Google Pixel 2 which is 5.5 inches screen
3. Great features eg. when you squeeze phone, google voice search will start automatically. ('OK GOOGLE')
4. Charging is pretty faster and the battery lasts pretty long

Great phone if you love stock Android
This phone has everything an android lover would want. No bloat wear, awesome camera, snappy performance...definitely worth considering if you are in the market for a new phone. The screen looks awesome when watching videos and the portrait mode takes awesome pictures. The USB-C fast charge is a great feature. I would recommend this to anyone that asks.

Even better than the first
This phone is a weapon. I had the pixel XL previously and I deliberated over whether to upgrade. I passed the pixel onto my partner so I can see the differences in the phone in daily use. Firstly, it's sleeker in my opinion making it easier to carry around. The camera is sensational and I find myself photographing more than I ever have before. The quality of the shots are incredible and I'm generally hopeless with a camera. The snapdragon 835 processor is lightning fast. Even compared to my pixel that was lightning fast. Connectivity, wifi, Blu...Read more
etooth just sensational. The water proofing was a nice touch. It doesn't have a head phone jack though it does have an adapter. It's never been so problem as my headphones are wireless. I bought the pixel ear buds to go with it. Battery length is probably what I love the most. For what I use, mostly business use checking emails, software, and messaging, the battery is amazing. Screen size is bigger too taking up more of the available real estate. Google also support their phones. Any problems or questions, I send a request and my phone usually rings in 10 minutes or less. Love the Phone
Can't get anymore from this phone. I used Pixel 1 last year and was just in awe of that.
Since the Pixel 2 XL was launched, I pre-ordered the phone from Telstra.
Its just perfect in every way, be it the Android O, camera performance, battery, front speaker. You name it and you get it on this phone.
The only thing now remaining is that other service providers like Optus and Vodafone should also sell this on contract, so that there is a healthy competition.

Simply amazing phone
The Pixel 2 XL is an impeccable phone. For those who want to jump off the Apple bandwagon, now is the time. Google, like Apple, has perfected their software for their hardware. The fact that Google makes both the software and hardware should convince you to buy a Pixel over any other phone. It is still early days for Google's phones and if you get one now, you are likely to be an early adopter. Having said that, the Pixel 2 XL improves from Google's first iteration in every single way. The software is blazing fast, the camera is stunning -- the...Read more
best in class -- people are amazed at how amazing the photos turn out to be, especially since it is only one lens. Google's AI and machine learning contributes largely to this. Google Assistant is revolutionary. It is lightyears ahead of Siri and what it can do to improve your life is impeccable -- once you try it out, you will be amazed. Overall, for a better-than-iPhone user experience combined with Google's amazing technology which is undoubtedly the future, I would highly recommend the Pixel 2 XL. I would recommend it over the Pixel 2 since the Pixel 2 XL has a premium feel to it shown by its curved screen and minimal bezels.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
