Unreliable access to vehicles, poor customer service
Used the service regularly for 2 years. Vehicles bookings are unreliable and have left me waiting in the rain unable to access the vehicle on multiple occasions.
If you need the car to get to the airport or anything important, avoid this service at all cost.
Poor customer service, unwilling to provide refunds even when booking issues were caused by the company itself. Customer service on weekends is non-existent as it is outsourced to a 3rd party.

3+ years in the market and they can’t make a single customer happy.
Tried to book their service 4 times on two separate occasions and every time there was something wrong with their cars. I wasted time, money and energy with this company but never again!

Slow, ineffective and misleading support.
Worst car rental service ever! Better off paying a little extra then to talk to their non existing support! Elaborated Two incidents.
1. Booked a car last year, when I went to fill petrol the petrol card couldn’t be used, had to claim. Emailed support told me they would credit my bank acc but after a few weeks nothing happen emailed them again another employee told me they won’t give me refund in money but just their booking credits. I was then furious with the mislead and slow response emailed to ask why but never bothered a reply.
2. Last...Read more

The best service and care
I’ve been using GREENSHARECAR for a while, everytime I visit Melbourne I use their services - The companies level of professionalism is unparallel, they really put effort in for the customers - Every car I used has been in peak condition, I’ve never encounted a issue - I required assistance for my first booking, and they were quick to respond and very attentive. Would definitely recommend greensharecar to people who want to explore the city or wherever with ease!

Horrible service
I booked a car, and unfortunately, when the car was parked, someone smashed the window and stolen some objects. I contacted Green Share Car and my problem started. An awful support, and they simply didn't reply emails. In the end, they charged me more than a thousand dollars. They "sell" a fake service about insurance. This is the truth.

They kept all my bond
Do you want to lose all of your bond? If not then avoid Greensharecar. Disgusting service. They hit me with $500 of arbitrary fees that magically equaled the bond amount of $500. Go with a different car share company. This one is pathetic.

Have used GREENSHARE for 3 years but they really are USELESS
PROS
-convenient locations
-they have VANS
-prices seem competitive
CONS
-the last two times we used GREENSHARE the vans wouldn't start. On the last occasion we were made to go to South Melbourne to get another van (we were in the CBD). We were bumping into a trade show so it added another level of stress to the day. We were told we would be reimbursed for the cost but ended up being charged twice.
-lack of service after hours
-we have had issues roughly 50% of the time, especially after hours, on a sunday when our shows typically end....Read more

Some hiccups, but resolved in the end
I've rented from Green Share Car several times over the course of the past year. In general, the vehicles are clean and functional, with a good selection of vehicles.
I recently had an issue similar to ones others have mentioned on here regarding returning the vehicle and finding the space occupied by someone else. I followed the instructions in the manual to call GSC, and someone did ring me back promptly on a Sunday, instructing me to get a photo of the vehicle in the spot, and to park in a nearby legal parking location. I did that, sent t...Read more
he photo in to GSC along with information about where the vehicle was parked, and thought we were all good. Unfortunately, seems there was a miscommunication with the phone operator, and GSC charged my credit card for $550 + admin fees for leaving the car not in it's spot. I did get in touch with them, forwarded them the e-mail I had sent to them over the weekend, and in the end they've agreed to refund the money and put my account in good standing, which I would consider a positive outcome. So: good cars in my experience, a few hiccups with customer service communications, but they've been communicative and willing to square everything up with me to continue having me as a customer.Similar opinion? Terrible ... couldn't get the car to start
Had to wait for someone to assist in getting the car to start. After a brief stop for a bite of lunch, I was left stranded because the car refused me access. Spent 2.5 hours trying to sort it out. Be prepared to abandon car and get a taxi.

Absolutely terrible customer service, hidden/unexpected charges, no refund, no escape
Absolutely terrible customer service, they never get back to you, they never answer calls and cancelling your subscription is nearly impossible, so they keep sucking money out of you every year, despite you not using their services. Steer clear, as soon as they catch you - they never leave you alone

Robbery - they take money from your account without consent.
They deducted an additional $66 from my account after there were problems with the booking as a result of their systems. Moreover if you need to reach them out of hours during your booking (e.g. to get the car running after it has been wrongfully immobilized) their number goes through to an unhelpful message taking service - not a representative of Green Share Car. I have been emailing for weeks to dispute the charges and they are extremely slow to respond (only doing so after several follow up phone calls and then failing to address my concern...Read more
s). I am continuing to dispute the charges, will be making a formal complaint against Green Share Car if they fail to refund the money unfairly taken from my account in contravention of their own User Agreement.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
I can't believe this company exists
I've used the company twice, both times they've taken more money out of my bank without letting me know, with no reply to my email when I've questioned why. They have a no refund policy amongst many other hidden policies which will cost you more than you bargained for. Day light robbery!

Unless you are looking for a company to steal money from your account DO NOT USE GREEN SHARE CAR!
I'd leave negative stars if it was possible.
I've never in my nearly 50 years experienced such utter disregard & contempt for customers. Unless you're after random, undisclosed, deductions of your money, unless you're keen to have unsubstantiated accusations and the resulting fines levelled at you, and unless you're happy to call for weeks on end without a single person, other than the lovely receptionist, taking or returning your call, DO NOT use this company.

Hidden charges and changes in policy before notifying people
When, I took the membership they didn't tell that I need to pay for termination as well. Now in total I have given them the following apart from my actual usage:
1- $ 55 New application processing fee
2 - $55 Annual membership fee
3 - $55 Cancellation fee
It was a good service, now has become worst. Its better to buy an old car and use.

Devil is in the detail. Beware people! Hidden charges.
Was enticed to sign up for Greenshare, and initially it was alright. Cars were mostly clean and new.
Then came their ludicrous policy changes which were quietly announced in late 2015.
They then automatically renewed my membership without consent, and charged me an annual fee. (This wasn't implemented when I first signed up in 2014).
When I opted to cancel the membership, they slapped an extra $55 for cancelling the membership that I did not opt to renew or consent to renew.
Completely an unfair business practice, hope the ACCC or Consumer Affairs gets onto it!

Started out alright, the last year I have seen deterioration of service
I don't think Green Share Car started out as bad. The website is alright, and I quickly drove around happy with their cars.
Until I rented a van without a mirror on the right. Why would you not take this van out of service? It's dangerous. Then I noticed an error on their website, where some of the pricing would be off. I notified them 3 times to get this fixed and never got a response.
Suddenly 55 dollars charged! I checked my emails, but I never received any information about this. Is this legal?
Go with one of the other guys. Green Share Car don't have that many cars anyway. The only reason I signed up was that there was no yearly fee, but now that advantage is gone aswell.

Terrible- randomly introduces new fees, then charges credit card
When I joined, there was no annual fee. But then, as per other reviews, they secretly added a $55 annual fee and charged my credit card without permission.
They would not budge an inch on cancelling the membership and refunding the $55 they charged. In the end, Consumer Affairs Vic recommended I do a credit card chargeback which got me my money back.
Luckily my credit card had expired by this stage, otherwise they would probably have tried to also charge me the $55 cancellation fee!

Totally agree they are a rip off - ACCC really needs to investigate these guys
Like other reviewers, my credit card was charged $55 without my knowledge and they claimed that they would also charge $55 for terminating the membership. I pointed out that consumer laws do not allow such unfair terms in standard form contracts. They were rude and unpleasant. NEVER join these guys, they are such a rip off. I never used any of their cars, not even once and they refuse to refund the $55 charged without my consent.

My “Lifetime Membership” lasted less than 4 years
In 2012, I paid Green Share Car for a Lifetime Casual Membership. Imagine my surprise to discover that "Lifetime" only means a few years. Have been charged a $55 annual fee.
Customer service was woeful. Refused to refund their new annual fee and was told it was my fault for not reading their emails. Yet I would have read a letter, if one had been sent.
I no longer regard Green Car Share as a reputable company and would be happy to hear that someone has taken them to Consumer Affairs Victoria. I didn't keep a copy of the T&C when I became a member otherwise I would myself.

All they need is a fuzzy Member User Agreement email to misuse your credit card details
GreenShareCar (GSC) sent an email titled "Important Changes - Member User Agreement" sometime in June 2015. No subsequent email or notification was sent since, before they charged me the newly introduced $55 annual membership fee in October 2015. Note that when I first registered, I specifically chose the option that does not require a membership fee. Looking back to the email mentioned, there was no mention of any new charges on the email title. Their headline article when you open that email was "Got an issue? Quick report it on the GSC Compa...Read more
nion App!" The section that actually talks about the ALL IMPORTANT new $55 membership fee was cleverly hidden as a sub-article at the bottom. The overall email itself was structured as a standard newsletter that you might have received from a hundred other vendors and services you might have signed up with. I am guilty of not reading every of those newsletters that come into my inbox. What annoyed me the most was it was clear that their intention was to not highlight the part that mentions the new membership fee, and not sending any reminders. They wanted to catch us off guard. When queried about the whole situation, their response was "simply by ignoring the advice does not mean you avoid the fee." Prior to this, I was a strong advocate for GSC before I had buy my own car due to an addition to the family, but the way they handled the introduction of this new membership fee was just dodgy. GSC may have played within the legal boundaries, but their integrity is in question and no longer will I ever recommend GSC to anyone ever.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
