Why pay more?

published

Great little compact microwave from Kmart - does the job, can't imagine spending more for something flashier. We use it for reheating and simple cooking (porridge, polenta, even scrambled eggs). It does have a low wattage which is something to keep in mind if you are following cooking instructions or used to more powerful microwaves.

Great Bargain Microwave

published

I love this cheap and basic microwave. It works excellently and is all anyone would need. Cooking is fast and thorough. Reheating and defrosting work well and it looks good in my kitchen. I really have no complaints and am amazed they can make something this good for just $48. It's a really good machine and I think most people would be happy with it,

Does the job

published

The settings are pretty straight forward, cooks meals well. Warms up and fully cooks frozen meals to my satisfaction, it’s kind of loud but it doesn’t bother me. And it was reasonable on the price so it’s good if you’re moving out of home for the first time. I would recommend to my friends.

Great value for money

published

Cooks well, could be a little more powerful to cook faster? Settings and instructions are fairly easy to understand and very easy to use. Microwave is pretty quiet, is fairly sturdy. Overall, satisfied with value for money, which is what it is all about. I’d recommend it if you’re on a budget

Pretty decent microwave

published

The settings are easy to use, the microwave cooks quickly and the defrost setting works well. It does take up a little bit of space but I think a smaller microwave wouldnt be as well built and high powered. I lived in a rental that had a brand name microwave provided by the landlord and when moving out of there purchased this one which works a lot better.

Surprisingly Decent

Great little Microwave and cheap as chips. This does everything you need a microwave to do. It cooks reheats and dethaws. It is easy to clean and looks good enough in the kitchen. The only thing is doesn't have is a fancy name or price to match. It works well in all departments and represents good value. Would recommend this to all.

Cheap. Works.

published

We didn't need anything fancy and for $49 this microwave does the job. I do find it a little low on power. We have had ours for about 18 months and it is still going strong. I wouldn't trade it for a more expensive one. For reheating meals and making popcorn it gets the job done!

Very happy with this amazingly cheap microwave from kmart. It covers all the bases for me.
Cooks, reheats, and defrost and looks good too, what else do you want for less than $50? The only thing missing is a fancy brand name but this really is a good microwave and meets my needs perfectly

Cheap Plastic But Works Well

published

This is obviously built to a price and I doubt it will last forever but it works well enough and looks quite smart.
Its amazing that they can build a good functioning microwave like this for only $48! I suspect they have saved money with the plastics as they look a bit cheap and may well age quickly.
As for cooking, well it works as well as any microwave I have ever had. I noticed it's a little slower with cooking times but it does a good job all around.
Good value.

Simple But Good

published

I really like this microwave because it so so very simple.
It may not be as powerful as others (only 700w) but it really does work well and is well made. I mostly use it for dethawing frozen food of reheating food. I don't actually use it to cook per se.
It meets my needs very well and is easy to clean.
Great value at under $50

Good Little Performer

published

We just needed a basic fill in model while we moved house and this cheap and basic KMart model fitted the bill.
It is built to a price ($48) but it is perfectly adequate and has reheated and thawed many dinners and actually looks surprisingly good too.
I mostly use it to reheat coffee and dinners and for this purpose it works faultlessly. Note that its only 700w which is reasonably low so somethings tale a bit longer than the usual but it always works just fine.
Can't go wrong for the price.

Great for the price

Cooked most things well, due to its low power it needs a bit of extra time for root vegetables. Design and features were great as it made the use of the product very straight forward. Didn’t make much noise and the small compact design was very useful in our small kitchen

Does the job, just

published

This has to be the worst microwave I have ever purchased. It does not heat food quickly, taking sometimes up to twice the time indicated on packaging. I am aware it is not the most powerful microwave, but I expect to be able to heat a cup of water within 5 minutes on full power.
The controls are counter-intuitive, having to press the power button before being able to enter a time. The power increments are hard to understand and hard to navigate.
I would not buy this product again and wish I had invested what I spent on this microwave into another brand.

We found the plate online and it is a common problem with microwaves. Not just this one. It depends on the person using it! The plate is for the 'waves' to circulate the action.
