A very dependable car

published

I bought a second hand Honda Accord 2000 model 3ltr V6 in 2004 and 11 years later it's still going strong. No oil leaks, no coolant leaks, no nothing. Hard to believe but it's true. It still has the same engine, same transmission and radiator when in most cars these days you would have replaced at least one of those items (as I experienced with my Mitsubishi).
The interior has held well over time and the quality of plastics used is evident as there has been no cracking of the dash.
Still drives and handles well even after all this time and find it hard to part ways with because whatever I buy next I will be expecting tank like reliability.
The only down side its a 4 speed V6 meaning it does about 12.5 ltr per 100km's.

95 honda accord

published

My son wanted a cheap car, less than $2K after selling his performance car. Bought a 95 Honda Accord VTi-S, $1800, after replacing a noisy wheel bearing, cost $75, the car is... well, quite surprising. No noise, no rattles, rides great, auto changes well, everything works, uses no oil or coolant, returned 7.6L/100 on a highway run, 555kms on 42L (I filled it up), even has leather interior and a sunroof. These things are nearly down to junk value, but still very good cars if you look around, there are some rough ones, and good ones, but they are all around the same value.

Great 2005 Honda V6

published

The best car I have owned! Comfortable, leather seats, quiet powerful motor, quite cabin, plenty of boot space and leg room. Just one issue - when accelerating from a low speed there is a slight hesitation (lag) which appears to be common with some Honda V6 models. It is a bit thirsty around town, but I get good mileage on trips.
Quiet, powerful, roomy, solid, great cabin finish, great exterior looks!
Just a slight lag when accelerating from low speeds.

great car

i owned an 2010 VTI LE until it got totalled last week. curtain airbags saved us. did 60K without any issues apart from an airbag light early on that the dealer fixed after a couple of attempts. very fuel efficient, quiet, smooth, safe. way better finished than toyotas. the only thing i would like Honda to improve woulf be to look at brake pad life. brake pads needed to be replaced at 40K which is quite normal for these cars. i would recommend this car and woulod buy another one myself.
smooth, quiet, build quality, efficiency, reliability
brake pads needed to be replaced at only 40K

Great car, but with a few issues

published

I will clarify that I love this car, but want to highlight a few issues:

- Paint chips very easily
- Air conditioner has a known flaw (easily punctured by rocks kicked up by tyres), that is not covered by warranty
- The boot is an inconvenient size/shape (don't plan on family road trips)

Other than that it is very solid and a great car to drive. It is a very smooth drive, and it doesn't have the tinny feel common in other cars it size. Best car at the price point.
Solid, good price
Air conditioning fault, boot, paint

I work in service at a Honda dealer and have not come replaced any punctured AC condensors. I think you were unlucky.

Julie-Anne

I have just found out my Honda Accord 2009 has a puncture hole in the AC condensor with a quote for $774.00 to fix So maybe not so unusual and perhaps a design fault ?

Johnt.. It's a known issue, incl US built cars, which are basically the same..For a Honda Mech, you should know this.. Peddle your BS elsewhere please..

Honda Accord 2010

published

This is my third Honda, having had a Civic previously and my partner has a Jazz, which she loves.
It is a very comfortable car to drive and has a smooth ride. Fuel economy is reasonable for a vehicle of its size, as I get around 9litres per 100klm on average, which is mostly short journeys that are too far to walk, yet too short to better the economy.
The back seat area can accommodate two large adults, over 185cm with ease and comfort, and the boot is quite spacious, as I have been able to carry 3 full sets of golf clubs, and 3 good sized suitcases when on holidays.
Good to drive, reasonable economy for its size, reliable
Expensive to have dealer service

Comfort and Style

I bought a 2005 Honda Accord in 2011. This car has aged well. It is comfortable and a pleasure to drive. The V6 does take more petrol of couse but the extra power is worth it. Although it is 6 years old people are commenting on its great design.
Stylish, comfortable and a pleasure to drive

This was my mum car 10 years back. She bought it brand new and used it for everyday driving. I had a chance to drive it a lot and I loved it. Honda always makes great and reliable car. The cost to maintain it wasn't too bad. Nice to drive around the city. It doesn't sit too low as some of the sedans. Easy to park and very fuel efficient. Nothing to complain. I would recommend it to anyone.
Good car for its age. Very reliable and beautiful to drive.
Not much to complain about except the handling can be improved.

Its a great family car, drives really well, maybe a little more power in the 4 cylinder would be good, but it is a perfect luxury car. I will definitely be upgrading in about 5 years to another honda.
VTI luxury 2008 is a beautiful car. I love it - we bought it last year brand new and it is the smoothest driving car, with fantastic features. The luxury has seat warmers, automatic lights, wipers, leather seats and great stereo system
nothing i love it

Honda don't disappoint (unlike Holden). More expensive than toyota by 2000-3000, but you get a better build and more luxury. Handling relatively smooth, but turning is a little insufficient.
Have the 2007 Honda Accord VTI-L. Very comfortable quiet drive. Great family car. Comfortable. Not a single problem!
Difficult to estimate edges when parking as the shape drops away. Visibility is OK. Water jets for windscreen hit the wipers and not the windscreen. Shape of the wipers make it hard to design jets that go over the wipers. Turns like a bus.

Hi, Does V6L series 2 2016 model, drives differently or awful lot refined compared to the previous 2015 one?

Sorry, I can’t answer that as this was my first Honda, so don’t know what previous models were like. I can say that I am still driving it 10 years later and it’s never missed a beat - and that includes driving Melbourne to Perth return. Still love it as it may well be the most reliable car I have ever owned and extremely comfortable for long trips. Hope this helps. I should add that mine is a Euro and not a 6 cylinder so maybe not the model you asked about anyway! Lol....

What fuel consumption should be expected in metropolitan usage?

Beefster

G’Day Paul,
Bit late, but I kept a spreadsheet. Best I got was 6.98L per 100kms, worst 13L around town. (Albury). Speeding up to 110kms then diving off the access ramps doesn’t help the fuel economy that much.
Overall average was 10.34 on ULP 91 and 9.71 on ULP 95. (2012 2.4L Limited Edition)
