Supreme Car for my small family
I have recently purchased brand new CRV MY17, its a great for a family. It's got really good performance including mileage. It got really good suspension grip to handle the car. Car doesn't make much noise, runs well for the 2.0 L engine. Would be nice to little more on the size of the engine.
Coming to interior, Legroom for the front and back are pretty good, compared to the other compact SVU, Honda has a good leg room. Dashboard is pretty good apart from the display unit at the centre, the visual quality needs to be improved and the opt...Read more
ions needs to be improved to like the driving modes and Navigation. I would be really happy id they have included customised colours for the traffic lines and roads in the maps. The maps doesn't look attractive, also needs to add the speed camera notification. I liked the driving seat setting memory function, that helps me a lot when someone else use my car. I liked the rain sensors they works pretty good. I have also liked the titling the side mirror on reverse parking. Coming to reliability, it came with 7.7l/100km but didn't worked for me. on city driving the millage is 10L/100km but the best part is on highway driving it gave me 6.9L/100km. With one full take I drove from Melbourne to Sydney what can you expect. It would be nice to if it has an auto stop and start at the traffic lights or anywhere. Overall I am satisfied with the car but Honda can do better!!!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great car at a great price point
Honda CRV drives smoothly, is quiet on the road and cost effective to run for a CRV. It's only a bit under 3 years old, but so far have had no issues. Comfortable with all the trimmings, loads of boot space for it's size and is more compact than others on the market. Only negative is the software in the GPS and bluetooth hands free was pretty outdated and below par for what you'd expect these days when we bought the car and could use a review.

This is not what I expected from a Honda
Our Honda CRV 2.4 VTi 4x4 was purchased new in 2013. Overall it is OK, but not what I expected a Honda to be.
Firstly, the positives:
1. it is practical, comfortable and does the job of a family workhorse well. Dynamically, its not the sharpest tool in the shed, however, I like the compromise.
2. Long wearing brakes and tyres
3. It drinks standard 91 RON fuel and can take E10.
4. Brilliant rear cabin room
The negatives are:
1. Terrible aircon performance, it has been back to the dealer numerous times to fix the issue, and all I get is that is the way they are.

2. Thai build quality is noticeably worse than Japanese build quality, panel alignment is inferior to an Australian made Camry 3. High urban fuel consumption, expect around 13.5 Ltrs/100Kms 4. Expensive and too frequent service intervals of 6 months / 10,000 Kms 5. Battery died after 2.5 years, basically a cheap Thai sourced battery. 6. Assorted rattles 7. When new the car had an aircon leak, due to a known fault 8. Beware of the Honda 5 speed auto, these are a Honda design and unless the transmission fluid is changed at half the recommended interval early transmission failure is possible. 9. The transmission was replaced under warranty in March 2017, looks like our car got one of a defective batch. 10. VTEC actuator replaced under warranty

I would never buy a Honda again- read on
The CRV is an ok car. However, it is under specd when you compare to competitors. Limited driving aids such as radar/blind spot monitoring/hill assist etc. make the VTIL over priced for what it is. Power to weight ratio means it is also sluggish in traffic.
However, the main reason why I would never buy a Honda again is their insistence on making you accept a legal disclaimer by tapping the glass screen media unit on the dashboard every time you turn the ignition on.
Worse still, if you fail to press "ok" the unit will still play the rad...Read more
io but Bluetooth will not connect meaning hands free wont operate and media streaming wont occur. No hands free takes away a safety feature. Sometimes you can forget to tap ok (after all which other car insists on a legal disclaimer being acknowledged every time you drive it) so if you get a phone call, you have to pull over or ignore. Trivial issue? There is no other interface (except steering wheel controls and you cannot accept the "ok" with these) - so you have to tap a hard glass screen - sometimes the tap doesn't register so you keep tapping. Hence another safety issue as you can be distracted doing this unnecessary process, sometimes seconds with your eyes off the road. Stupid stupid stupid - its the same on my wife's Jazz. Became unbearable after 6 months and got rid of the car. Spoke to Honda Australia and also UK - answer - that's how they come out of the factory. For me it took away the pleasure of wanting to drive the car - bye bye Honda - Hello MazdaSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great car but expensive to maintain at dealers
Gets you from point A to point B without fuss. Very roomy, you will not run out of space in this car.
Bought new, got the 4wd limited edition 2.4 as found the 2.0 is underpowered for my liking. Very stylish car too, I just like how it looks. Side mirror mounted camera is a welcome tool.
The only thing I dislike is the expensive servicing costs at the dealership, so I did it myself, it is a Honda after all :)
Highly recommended this car

4.5 Stars, Great Car
Not sure why people are complaining really, I get on average over 500km from a full tank of fuel around Adelaide metro/city, a/c is flawless, door locks are quiet and smooth. Media unit does need upgrade to multi line scrolling display though. Apart from that the vehicle has been a very satisfying purchase.

I LOVE MY CRV
I love driving my CRV, VTI as I live in a hilly area on the northern beaches it handles well with the tight streets in the area this is our second Honda previously owned an Accord loved that also.
It does use more petrol than the Accord did although a much smaller engine, like the room & it would be very hard to hit anything as the sensors around the car make it a breeze to park anywhere.

Beware faulty parts that cost you a fortune to replace
We actually have a 2007 model but just want to make buyers of the new model aware of the way Honda operates. There is a well known flaw with the 2007-2011 series where the door lock actuators stop working, and in USA they replace them free of charge as they know its a Honda problem. In Australia they will not replace them and want $325 just to replace one door, good luck if you have problems with more than one door!

Air con is not good
Quiet noisy for the car it is
Running costs are very high- how can this car guzzle so much fuel? where does it all go??? My thoughts exactly every time i fill up.
I don't like the look of the inside of the car, it does not feel luxurious either, seats are not comfortable, VERY cheap and tacky plastics in cabin
Paid $65k At werribee honda.
Not reliable, had it not turn on and had to wait for it to 'warm up' No modern car should have this issue. especially when you live in about 15 degrees c.
Car is no where worth the money. First and last Honda

Honda CRV 2015 Series 2 Manual
Had my 2015 MANUAL CRV for 6 months (purchased new). It now has 20,000km on the clock. Most of my km's are highway km's (including 100km of rough dirt rd each week). Hasn't skipped a beat. The air con when placed on the coolest setting gets very chilly, to adjust the temp I use the air speed control rather than the temp control. Very economical on the highhway 7.1L/100km, around town fuel consumption goes up to 7.4L. Great electronics for the base model- reverse camera, great stereo, blue tooth has never faulted.

2015 Honda CR-V faulty aircon
The aircon of this car is very weak even though it is turn to maximum. You do not want stay in the car in hot summer even with the aircon on. I just looked up in this site and found others have the same problem. I am not sure whether this problem is undercover of the warranty.

Honda quality
Was extremely happy with my 2011 CRV but my wife tired of driving a manual and also thought it would be nice to get a fully optioned car. For me it was quite easy as always thought that apart from the European luxury brands, Honda was a class above the rest. So off to the local dealership to look at both the HRV and CRV. Thought I would try the HRV first as now pretty much just the 2 of us. With 3 in the car for the test drive I just felt it had to be pushed hard with engine roar coming into the cabin. Now for the 2WD CRV as really no need for ...Read more
the 4WD that I had previously as it hardly ever engaged as I drive 100% in the city. Immediately I noticed it drove more effortlessly than the HRV and if felt more of a car so the choice was easy. 2 months in I must say I am very happy with my 2WD VTI-L and feel good about my decision. The 2 litre engine is quite adequate but I do notice a small difference in performance from my previous 2.4 litre but that is to be expected. When pushed it does respond which is good. On the positive side the better fuel economy than my previous CRV is quite pleasing. It has nice cabin size and plenty of room for 4 adults but a 5th large adult makes it a bit of a squeeze. Space is where the CRV wins against its rivals. The cargo area with the clever one touch drop down of the seats to a level surface is fantastic and so huge. Inside the car appeared more conservative than some of its competitors which surprises me that Honda would let this happen. On the plus side the quality is good. The blind spot camera on the left hand side mirror is brilliant and others brands should follow.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
It is a nice suv for the price.
I got my CRV 2011 model as new and it has been great until now still very good in all aspect. I will highly recommend this Honda CRV even my is build from thailand. This car is good to drive, air con is very good, space is very hood and breaks are excellent.

Nice around town car but lacks power
A pleasant around town car and once on speed sits nicely on the highway, but do not expect any great surge of power from the 2 lt engine unless you hunt it through the gears. Interior is comfortable enough for a large person although I never seem to find a car where you can fully stretch your legs (just that extra rear notch on the seat would do the trick), I don't like the centre console whereas the previous model had a clear space which I found handy, Apart from that the interior is well thought out. The airconditioning could do with a bi...Read more
t more power especially starting in a hot parked vehicle but I've found that by running it for a few minutes when garaged does make a difference. One annoying thing is when parking on a slight incline and applying the footbrake it rolls slightly forward or back and the transmission makes a horrible clunk when engaging drive or reverse, I believe somebody else also mentioned that and wonder whether that is a common thing. Apart from that a functional vehicle if you want to run the kids to school, go shopping and do the odd weekend sojourn to the countryside but don't expect too much in way of off road or performance. Good fuel economy. There is still much to like about this car that's why I gave it a four out of five.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
poor petrol consumption - not my experience
Bought 4WD model CRV new in April 2014. Have driven 51,000kms, a lot on country roads in WA sitting on 110kph.
Fuel economy on those trips is around 7.7 (Did 7.1 with a tail wind from Perth to Geraldton recently) sits on about 8.8 around the city. Great road holding ability and very comfortable. USB problem is the pits - but small bikkies really.

Great family car
Drives well, manages very well around suburban streets and is a comfortable drive on the freeways.
Not the most powerful car around and needs a bit of help when going up steep inclines but very steady reliable car that gets our family safely from A to B.
We love the accurate and clear rear view camera as well as the very handy left hand 'lane watch' camera that we have come to rely on.
The interior is comfortable and has everything you would expect or need.
Rear seats recline and the extra air conditioning vents to the rear are much appre...Read more

Fantastic Car, love it!
After regretfully trading in my first CRV, after 8 yrs of loyal service and never skipping a beat, not as much as a rattle. I was genuinely upset with Honda when it came time to upgrade, who at the time, I felt, just forgot about our family. With 3 children and two baby seats in the back our eldest child would have been very uncomfortable in the back seat. We changed to a larger car for four years and now with our youngest, a big boy, just about grown out of the booster seat, and our daughter well and truly out of her booster seat, we have onc...Read more
e again bought a Honda CRV. I absolutely loved my first CRV, even after 8 years and just know I'm going to love this one just as much. Although I do miss the picnic table in the boot :( I'm already thinking that this car may become all three of my children's, first car. I know Honda is reliable and if we look after it, I have no doubt that in 10 years from now it will still be a fab car for my youngest to start with. The only negative, apart from withdrawing the picnic table, is that the VTI-L does not come in manual. That's a shame.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

The CRV Vti 2014 under my expectation
Car paint; it looks like there is one layer of paint.
Ipod connectivity; USB Error seems to be part of playing songs. it happened randomly, and you have to turn off the car then turn it on to make it work. Honda service centre response was " Even we seen it happened one time, We can't replicate the problem to find away to fix it". That doesn't help me when buying a new car.
Air condition; I agree with the previous comments, not powerful like the older models.
Conclusion; We have CRV & Civic. It's time to research another brand.

Great car
I had a small survey about midclass SUV in current Market. This is the car have decent features for reasonable price. Loved it so far. Current review say 2.0 engine is under powered. But I cannot feel it, running smoothly. They have placed the sets low to have a better clearance between head and the roof, so can get little leg pain in longer drives being and tall man. otherwise the drives are comfortable with nicely insulated cabin. Fuel consumption is average and economical. Back seat passengers got air vents for A/C and no transmission bar gi...Read more

Love the 2015, series 2 CRV, brilliant car!!!!
Bought the new 2015 Series 2, L Model after 3 months of research and test driving a range of SUVs to replace my much loved 2004 Rav Cruiser. So glad we settled on the CRV, brilliant car, amazing handling, excellent boot space and also the added benefit of the flat floor in the second row. Love all the features, automatic windscreen wipers and lights, keyless entry and an amazing side camera on the left which comes on automatically with the left indicator and gives incredible vision at night. The quality of this SUV is second to none.

On occasions my remote control won’t work & have been unable to lock my car. On returning to the vehicle sometimes only 15 minutes later find the accessories, interior & side lights all on. The auto electrician & Honda dealership can’t find anything wrong.

Wow sounds like a nuisance problem, the best people that have direct access to Honda are the car dealers, specially the one where you get your car serviced.
I have contacted Honda direct and they keep palming me off to the dealers.
So keep hassling them and ask them for solutions, maybe to reprogram or replace your remote control.
Good luck!
Many thanks will follow it up

I now have 50,000km on my 2015 manual 2wd crv. Very mechanically sound, nil issues to date. Fuel consumption on the highway still sits at 7.1L
My only criticism is the paint work; it's thin & chips more easily on the dirt road than my previous cars.
