Not clever thinking
2014 crv vti has very weak air cond( compressor mounted mm from hot exhaust system) have to drive for 10 mins and then it is still very weak.
Auto trans is prone to embarrassing loud clunks between reverse an drive.
8,000 km service cost $ 270.00 and came back with original oil filter and dirty oil
Also cannot drive with window down when the car is wet, end up with a lap of full of water.

Unbelievable CRV experience. Hope this happens to no one else! :(
My sister wanted a brand new CRV. So I negotiated and bought a blue one on her behalf. In return she was kind enough to let me drive the 1st 10 000k's in order to run the motor in. In that time it certainly felt very well built, - no rattles, noise or anything suspect. Having owned 3 other Hondas up to this moment myself, I can say that it definitely is very Honda. Solid build quality and in typical Honda fashion, motor needs high temperatures to work smoothly. So I do recommend up shifting early for the first 30-45mins and after that whe...Read more
n engine temperTure is high, - gear shifts become seamless and overall everything works wonderfully smoothly. The car I drove, averaged about 11L/100 but of course will probably come down a bit more as most engines wont completely settle until 30000kms. I hope this holds true because it does seem a little high for a non turbo motor. I will say that at times I drove nonstop for over 2 hrs and still felt refreshed afterwards. So I can attest to the seats being terrifically supportive. Unfortunately at around 6000kms one day I left it parked for 2 hrs in a hail storm while at work. Upon seeing the car, it really was quite bad, looked like it had been attacked by a gang weilding baseball bats. Even the sunroof was cracked. Luckily it was fully insured, so I thought no big deal just need to get it fixed by insurance company. Little did I know that this would actually only be a minor problem compared to what was about to happen. Several weeks later I ended up taking it to a repairer whom my insurance company referred. They fixed everything really well, but curiously, - the guys had trouble getting the reversing sensors in the back to work properly. One guy asked me – “Where did you get these from?” I said they came from the same dealer who sold me the car – ofcourse !.. He replied “Got news for ya, they're not genuine, in fact they're after-market sensors worth no more than $50.” I was very disappointed and became suspicious because I knew that the Honda salesman who sold me the car had clearly written 'Honda reversing sensors' on the contract and was more than happy to charge me $780 for them !, So immediately next day I decided to go back to the Honda dealership and confronted the manager, who after making me wait for a good 1/2 hour, walked down the stairs from his office like some 'royal' and disgustingly said to me “Oh, we didn't think you'd mind if we put in another reversing system in your car” and “We do this to other people as well you know, - and they don't seem to mind” – !? He was then ignorant enough to ask me for another $300 so he would put the genuine Honda sensors in! Naturally, I told him to “frog Off!” - I really hope others don't have to deal with this sort of human garbage because the car buying experience is bad enough without having to deal with human trash. If you’re looking to buy a Crv or any other Honda product, and are from Perth, I'd definitely recommend avoiding this dealership and spare yourself the headache. This occurred @ Brian Gardner 'Honda North' in Osborne Park (Perth people will know exactly the dealership I'm talking about.) If you're one of the unlucky ones like me who have purchased from these guys in the past, - take your car to another dealership next time you’re due for a service, and ask them to take a look at all the accessories or options installed in your car by HondaNorth, - by their own admission,- good chance they’ve installed after-market parts in your car and the parts won't be 100% genuine to the brand, make or model. These guys think all Perth people are suckers, - except them. While talking to the manager, - I definitely picked up on a scent of arrogance & complacency, mixed with a hint of stupidity…obviously, these are the types of people whose professionalism is still trying to catch up with their greed. And to this day, the CRV still has a bogus reversing system in it & they've still kept my $800. When I contacted Honda Australia, their reply was that these guys are pathetic but they can't do anything to force their hand because all Honda dealerships are independently run... Of course you'd be a fool to think that these low-lives won't continue with this scheme, especially when they stand to profit so much more on top of the car!...and they know in their own minds,- how many people can really tell the difference between a genuine part to an aftermarket one? I know I didn't - it was only by chance that I became aware of their scheme. Funny thing was, the first question the 'manager' asked me was "how did you find out?" - as if he was surprised the scheme he was running wasn't as fool-proof as he thought. I urge anyone unfortunate enough to have dealt with these low-lives in the past to get their vehicles' options examined and report to consumer affairs in order to stop pathetic dealerships like this from thriving. Well built, good paint job, even after the hail storm, paint never showed any signs of chipping. Unfortunately, Honda products seem to be sold by some dealerships whose greed is lagging well behind their professionalism.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Love my 2014 CRV!
Purchased my CRV in Sep13 so I've got the 2014 model 4WD, which I absolutely love!
At first we were looking at the 2WD option, but after test driving that we felt the extra $5k was justified to go with the 4WD model.
I love everything about the car - the space (test drove the Mazda CX5 and the Tiguan and CRV offers the most space), bluetooth, rear camera, left hand side mirror automatically sliding down so you can see the gutter when you park, the one flick lever to flatten the rear seats, the mirrors folding in after parking (great for tight...Read more

Good Car ... but!
We replaced our 2003 XS Subaru with the 2013 Honda CR-V VTi 4WD on 01 July 2013 exactly 10 years after buying the Forester, I must say it was not exactly planned that way either.
We test drove the Mazda CX5 and looked at both Rav4 and Mazda 6 Station Wagon as we were limited on the range of vehicles by our budget. We now have 2 x Grandchildren so required room for 2 x child car seats plus an adult in the back seat and cargo space for associated luggage/shopping etc., the rear doors on the Honda open to almost 90° which makes putting children...Read more
into their car seats easier, your back and muscles are not twisting and straining, subsequently the Honda was our final choice. So far we have traveled over 12,500kms in a mix of City/Hwy trips, we average approx. 450kms a week for a current return of 9.3 L/100k which a little higher than the stated Honda consumption figures and the Subaru Forester, the Honda CR-V is also 170 kgs heavier than our old Forester too. Cabin roominess - dash layout - steering wheel controls - bluetooth for mobile phone - wide opening rear doors - comfortable ride and seats. Steering lacks feedback - accelerator response is slow - vision rearward is nowhere near as good as the Subaru and it never had a rear view camera either - very weak sounding horn.2 comments
Most excellent economy. I looked at yourr consumption and then also at some others. The car really does FWD mostly but will engage AWD instantly when needed. You would not have saved much fuel-wise if... Read more
you had bought a FWD instead. You got the best of both worlds and it shows. I was also thinking of Outback 2.5 XS but I know that Suby spares are much more expensive. However, neither brand is prone to see an owner heading towards the spares counter. Making a buying decision is not easy.I have not driven my Honda CR-V on unsealed roads so cannot comment on it's handling on such roads, for ride comfort and handling on sealed roads I am very happy with the Honda CR-V.

Great Car, Highly Recommend
After driving my 2013 CR-V VTi-L for over half year now, I can confidently say this car is just excellent. The look is sensational, engine is powerful enough, inside room is spacious, the engine is much quieter than Subaru, even the sound of closing the door seems more quality than Toyota or other cheaper brands. There are some other features I like too: at night, headlight will follow the turning, when you either make a turn or turning side light; auto dimming rear mirror, etc.
something can be improved is: Bluetooth cant sync phone address-...Read more

All around great.
Traded my 2012 Civic for the 2013 Cr-v which in Canada is only available in Automatic transmission. Drives and handles well, I get 9.6L/100km which is slightly above the Civic's 7.9L/100km but you get so much more. 1000L cargo space with the rear seats flat down, best in class. This vehicle is very comfortable and cabin is very roomy, especially the rear leg room, almost as much as a limo.
Looks, very sharp. Above average roominess and class leading fuel economy.
Electric steering seems to lack a "center" feel to it and the stereo speakers are somewhat disappointing but then again, I'm an audiophile.

On occasions my remote control won’t work & have been unable to lock my car. On returning to the vehicle sometimes only 15 minutes later find the accessories, interior & side lights all on. The auto electrician & Honda dealership can’t find anything wrong.

Wow sounds like a nuisance problem, the best people that have direct access to Honda are the car dealers, specially the one where you get your car serviced.
I have contacted Honda direct and they keep palming me off to the dealers.
So keep hassling them and ask them for solutions, maybe to reprogram or replace your remote control.
Good luck!
Many thanks will follow it up

Hi. I'm curious about Honda CR-V DTi-L Limited Edition 4wd Auto with 1.6 turbodiesel & ZF 9 Speed auto. Has anyone reviewed it? I heard the 9 speed auto itself has bad reliability. I haven't heard anything much about the known problem specifically for that version.

Thanks for your review. Can you post your fuel consumption figures? How about fuel consumption when "eco mode" is being used?
