Great cleaner
Great cleaner for the price. Got this cleaner for my sister as her other cleaners werent picking up the dog & cat hair. Love the powerhead, the suction is fantastic. Also love the attachment for the furniture as we can now sit on the couch without being covered in hair. Love the fact its got a bag as you then dont have dust going everywhere when you empty the vacuum.

Very good product
We are very happy with this product, it has additional motor for suction and it does a very good job. We got it from godfreys for $320, but found it cheaper in costco's.
Overall we are happy with the production and only minus is we should clean the drum quite often and hair structs.

Great Hoover BUT .......
We were impressed with the demo for this Hoover and bought it there and then, had it a couple of months now and though it does a great job the drum is a massive pain to use if it can get caught any where it will it tips way too easily and chips the walls whenever it hits them, basically because of that we wouldn't buy another hoover with a drum an upright is a far better option and way less hassle.

Easy to use
Love this vacuum cleaner. It glides over the carpet making it easy to push. The turbo head is great and picks up a lot of dirt. The bags are cheap to buy which is a bonus.I love the fact all parts are solidly made and not with a flimsy plastic.Having adjustable suction for rugs and curtains is a great.

Carpet clesning is brilliant BUT..
Pros..Carpets never felt so clean...the power head gets up every little dog hair...love it. Very quiet and the bags hold heaps...
Cons...the hard floor head is a disappointment, only has brushes on one side, the other side is a rubber strip...luckily the head of my previous vac fits so i use that for hard floors.
The cord could be longer and it does topple over easily...
Every time i hear something rattle up the pipe i worry that it might damage the wiring, only time will tell.
All in all, i am pretty happy with it thus far...the power head makes it a real winner if you have pets.

A perfect machine in a budget
I am using this machine on the carpet a lot better with the power head than cheapy kmart vacuum . coz every time I sit on the carpet after vacuuming with the normal vacuum I still felt some dirt stuck in the carpet but after using this little power head feels lot better.
Thanks hoover

A great vacuum
Love this vacuum. It has strong suction but is adjustable for doing rugs and curtains etc.
The action turbo head is amazing on carpets and gives a really thorough clean.
I wish it had a longer cord, but other than that it has been perfect on my carpet and Lino floors.

Decent VC
I had a Dyson before but when it quit I decided I didn't want to spend that much again. The Hoover does a great job - probably as good as the Dyson in suction power. The power cord is a little shorter and so is the hand held hose which makes reaching some places more difficult. It's also a little difficult to get all the debris out of the bagless container. We have dogs so there's a fair amount of dog hair. I usually have to completely disassemble the container to empty it instead of the one button release as advertised. But overall, for the money I think it is a good product.

Worst Handling Vac Ever !!!
Performance of cleaning / suction power is good.
Worst manoeuvrability EVER.
This Vac gets stuck on it own cord, wont go over cord.wheels too small, falls on its side at the slightest change in direction (away from straight line).
Given this company has been around for such a long time.... This is a disaster in "handling / ease of use"
Most frustrating Vac ever..

Best vacuum I have ever used.
I purchased this recently, and by far its the best vacuum I ever had. I have a big shout out to the Staff at Godfreys Clayton who sold me it. They told me it would do a great job on my grandmother's carpets and it does!. She has really bad asthma and the number of fine particles that came into the diverter was astounding. Considering I spent an hour Vacuuming the floors just the other day it really makes you realise how much junk we have been breathing in.

Can't live without it
Our Hoover was the first 'good' vacuum we had bought. Until now, we were using old hand-me-down vaccums while in share houses/away at Uni. We were happy with the price and the main focus for us was being able to pick up all the animal hair we have at our place. The Hoover does a good job of this and we use it daily. The bags aren't too pricey to keep replacing and it even offers a function of adding a 'bagless' barrel to the handstick in the future which we thought we might invest in down the track. We have had an issue with the belt however it was covered under the manufacturers warranty and we had no issues once it was returned to us fixed.

Good for Carpet
I went to purchase a vacuum with a price of $200-300 in mind at Godfreys. The Sales Person showed and demonstrated the vacuum on carpet with dummy mites and I was amazed the difference in performance. Hoover extracted the dust even after vacuuming with other vacuum.
I understood that it has Level-3 of base (a bit heavy, but must for carpet). The level-3 has a rotating brush at the head and vibrates so that hairs and dust at the base of carpet are extracted.
Really an innovative idea.
I am happy with it and would have given Five Start but not giving as Level-3 Head is a bit heavy but must and I purchased it in $400 plus, which I think is a bit expensive as such a technology should be generally available and at cheaper price.

Great sucton power on carpets
Very happy with suction power, especially on carpets. Gets right down to the bottom of the pile when the powerhead is turned on.
Maneuverability could be improved as it feels a little clunky and hard to get into small spaces, but its performance makes up for this.
Great for our small townhouse, and does a good job on the tiles too.

Brilliant
I have recently purchased the Hoover Action Pet vacuum and I couldn't be happier. It has brilliant suction with different vacuum heads for hard floors and lounges which is ideal for us as our cat sometimes sleeps on the lounge. Not only is it light weight and easy to maneuver around it is also quiet. We have hard floors and carpet so this vacuum is ideal. I highly recommend the Hoover Action Pet Vacuum.

The best one I`ve had so far
After having a cheap Piranha for 18 months I had to retire it to the garage for car use because it just kept falling apart the wheels went on the floor tool the back grill/filter just kept coming off but the suction is still good but not practical for use around the house anymore. So I went to Godfrey`s to look for another one and I love, love, love that store. Looked at cheap ones etc then the salesman Brad offered me the Hoover Action Pets for $399 the normal Price $499 and a free pkt of bags you have to be happy with that. I had every intenti...Read more
ons of a bagless model but after testing the difference in the store between bagless or bagged the bagged had the more suction by far and plus they last alot longer than the bagless ones (you learn something new everyday). The suction is the best I`ve had so far by a long shot, the vibrating power head just gets the dirt out of the carpet deep down (I will never use the floor tool again on carpet), very easy to maneuver glides over hard floors, has a mini power brush which is great for smaller areas lounge, curtains etc and other tools included. It`s much more quiet than my other ones and very easy to move around. You can fill the bags up to 98% full and it won`t loose suction and if your not happy with the purchase after 90 days you can bring it back for a swap or refund. I`m very happy with my purchase and at long last I have a bloody good vacuum cleaner.2 comments

to stop it from falling down when vacuuming. If I could only find the receipt document I would take it back and get me $400 back so until then I`m stuck with it. If I knew then what I know now I would`ve certainly not gone any where near a Godfreys store.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Happy wife Happy life
I have 2 dogs that shed a lot of hair. I have a couple of other vacuums with turbo heads, but nothing really picked up the majority of the hair without a bit of elbow grease involved. I got this Hoover July 2016 and I have never looked back. The power head is brilliant & requires little effort. We were amazed at the results on our carpet & lino flooring. Would highly recommend to anyone with pets.

This is a great vacuum cleaner. It is very easy to push using the electric rotating head. It picks up everything very well. It is easy to drag around the house.

Great for pet hair
We have four dogs(short haired) and the electric power head is excellent at picking up the dog fur with minimal effort from me physically!
It is nice and quiet too though I do use it with an extension cord as its cord is not super long.
Very happy so far.

Questions & Answers

My three-year old Hoover Action Pets broke at the level of the white plastic circle on top of the main unit, into which you fit the end of the hose. I see bits of white plastic and a loose screw. The white plastic circle is loose now. It looks like the plastic got brittle and snapped at the screw. After only 3 years, that's disappointing. Any idea if it's fixable?

Hello,
We would recommend to have the machine booked in through your nearest Godfreys store for further inspection just to make sure there are no faults with the machine.
Please feel free to contact us on 1300 360 845 to discuss further.

How do you remove the plastic mesh panel on top so that you can replace the black foam filter underneath (that sits above the exhaust filter)? Have been trying to prise it off with a screwdriver, but half of it won't budge.

Looking for vacuum efficient picking up long hair on carpets. Tired of wasting money on vacuums that don't work

Hi Rhonda, I would say this vacuum definitely works on human hair and let hair (I have a long hair cat with lots of fine hair), the only thing is human hair will get caught around the brush motor head part, but most vacuum with a motorised brush will have this issue too

What a real let down/disappointment after only 8 months of usage, I gave this product 5 stars when I first bought it now only give it 3 stars that`s being generous. It is mainly in the poor design of ... Read more
the hose down to the power head. The vacuum cleaner and suction don`t have a problem with their the only decent parts of this whole vacuum cleaner. Firstly the handle well that`s cracked and inside where the screws go that`s broken off so got another screw in there holding it together. Secondly the wand is dodgy it keeps slipping down occasionally so you have to keep on adjusting it when your using it and it`s a bit wobbly at time. Then there`s the motorized power head great little invention love it but the elbow joint where you connect the wand is broken so it doesn`t stay upright or turn off when you have to stand it up also the brush on the power head is really worn down nearly to the metal. Being still very much under warranty I take it to Godfreys and the guy that sold it to me said he has never seen a brush worn down so much come to think of it neither have I especially only after 8 months of usage. He said they can either replace the motorized power head and the other parts but it will be at a cost to me (I don`t think so) or the other was to send the whole hose, wand and power head back to Hoover because they have to sight the problem to get them replaced through the warranty. The only problem was it was going to take 10 business days before I got it back so I was going to be without a vacuum cleaner you may as well say for 2 weeks and with no replacements etc available, the salesman even said could I borrow one from a friend ( I shouldn`t have be doing any of this if it was designed and made properly for use). I kept it together and said I`m not going to be without a vacuum cleaner for that amount of time. The salesman Brad was very apologetic I know it`s not his fault but now I`m left with using a great powerful vacuum cleaner with a dodgy handle which I have to hold underneath the handle just to use the whole thing which hurts my lower back since I have to lean over more using it. In my experience with this product which cost me $400 DO NOT waste your money the handle and accessories are just made of cheap plastic CRAP. The Hoover of today certainly isn`t the Hoover of yesterday and I certainly won`t be buying another Hoover appliance.
