Fantastic Design, so light & easy to carry, But cheap manufacturing led to its demise
I loved this vacuum cleaner for its light weight & ease of carting it around on my back, not having to pull & heave an on the ground vacuum over power cords. I also bought a larger floor head brush which made it even better @ getting the job done quicker. My happiness didnt last to long, maybe 6mths, it started intermittently working, then one day it just made a funny noise & didnt work again, i took it back to Godfreys & they sent it off to be fixed, took about 2-3 weeks, it was the cord/plug that comes out of the right hand side of the machin...Read more
e, trouble is yes it got fixed, but they used a different or longer cord & this only had 2 prongs on the plug(where as originally my plug had 3 prongs) so now I find the plug comes apart from the extension cord, which is very annoying, takes me longer to vacuum as i have to keep plugging it back into extension cord. I think this machine was maybe made a bit too cheaply, as its a great machine when it works, but just seems to want to blow up. come on Hoover get your act together & make a half decent backpack vacuum cleaner please !!Similar opinion? A backpack vacuum cleaner which caught fire
My wife loved this vacuum cleaner because of its lightness and ease of use. However at about 18 months it literally caught fire on her back! Clearly in light of other reviews this product is unsafe and there should have been a product recall. Poor performance by Hoover. We await with interest the retailer's response!

They should be recalled! Terrible and unsafe!
My machine also intermittently stoped working and then the short power cord literally blew up, smoking and melting. This was just after the 12mth warranty ran out. The quality of this machine and safety is absolutely terrible. Lucky I didn't receive serious injuries. it appears this has happened to others also. Bad form Hoover!

Know better, choose better.
Doesn't last the distance
A good vacuum cleaner until it blew up just past 12 months warranty. First the plug was loose and it cut out intermittently, then smoke and a burning electrical smell came out of it. Only used once a week, so not much value for money. Expect better from such an established brand.

Great Design. Terrible Quality of Manufacture.
Great vacuum, in terms of it's capacity to pull up the dust. Terrible vacuum, in terms of the manufacturing quality of parts.
The plastic 'hinge' that connects the shoulder strap broke by the fourth use (within 3 months of purchase). The vacuum was repaired under warranty, and was then good for another few weeks. After another couple of months, the vacuum broke a second time. On this occasion, it was the plastic clip that holds the vacuum bag. As the vacuum bag was no longer held in place (unbeknown to me), the dust and other rubbish that ha...Read more
d been vacuumed bypassed the vacuum bag and entered the air filter, and most likely, the motor. Once again, the retail store repaired the part that was broken; however, the air filter and internal compartment of the vacuum was returned to me in a depreciated state. As I have needed to return the vacuum to the retailer twice within the first twelve months of purchase, for the sole fact that the manufacturer used a brittle, unsuitable material for the purpose of the vacuum cleaner, I am very unsatisfied with the purchase. The backpack is useful, the motor is powerful, the price was fair. The vacuum cleaner has been made with "throw away" materials unsuitable for durability, rendering the product a wasteful item.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
