Hi Barbie sounds odd, I guess you have cleaned the rotating head and made sure there isn’t a blockage. You may have to call the service dept or take it back to where you purchased as they may have some idea.

Hi Brett
After I saw your question, I check the plug on my Vac and it's not even warm to the touch.
I keep it plugged into a power board without any problems.
Have you tried plugging your Vac into another socket? If it's still getting hot there, maybe you should ask at the store where you bought your Vac.

I want to know where I can buy the filters please? Has anyone done so?

Hi Naydz
When I bought my Hoover StickVac from GODFREYS, it was explained that the outer part of the filter may be washed but the INNER part should be regularly tapped clean and when necessary, replaced.. never washed.
The part I would be looking for (for my version) is called the "Hoover Freejet Filter System" priced at $19.95 at Godfreys.
However, if I searched for the FILTER PART NUMBER DESCRIBED IN THE MANUAL THAT CAME WITH MY VAC - the part described, is not what would fit my machine.
Hope this is some help.
