Unfortunately the batteries in this machine are not sold separately, to replacement the battery you would need to replace the whole handvac assembly.

Why is it that once the light stops working the main suction stops working. The brushes just stop spinning. Nothing is blocked and the battery is fine. What an absolutely useless machine you have produced!!

No idea what's going on. We have never had the lights go out. The only time I found the roller stopped spinning is if there was cotton or long hair wrapped around it. I removed the brushes, cleaned the brushes and off it went again.

Mine has been doing the same for the last month and I only purchased it late last year. It seems to work when I direct the head to the right, but then when I straighten up or direct it to the left, it cuts out again.

Why does the light on power head go off after five seconds of use? Vacuum works fine, but the light keeps going off. It's empty and the filters are clean. Does this mean anything? The charging lights also flash when the light goes off.

The main reason for loss of suction is a blockage.
You can clean the tube by removing the roller brush for access, this is shown on page 13 of the manual.

Hey Cathy,
There is a button on the machine that enables you to pop the head off and gain access to the tube in the powerhead. Have a look at the brushes too, sometimes you can get debris stuck around the brush that can lessen the suction.
If you have maintained the machine and you are still experiencing lessened suction, you may need to take the machine into your nearest Godfreys to have it inspected.

My 5022 Hoover is 2.5 years old. Over 2 months the battery charge has increasingly been losing effectiveness and now I only get 10 minutes use after a full charge.
Is the battery unit replaceable as it obviously wont charge properly any longer. What is the cost ?

When it is in the charger the blue light constantly flashes and never stops to show fully charged. When I remove it from the charger the light goes off and the on/off button does not work. Help?

It does have a Power Indicator on the machine. Once its charged it should stop flashing.

Was working fine all this time, but the handle turn on button stopped working all of a sudden.!
