Absolutely Excellent!
I almost bought a thermomix but I am so glad I did a Google search before the demonstration and saw this machine. It can do everything the Thermomix does and then some. Recipes for any other thermal cooking machine can be easily converted (I got heaps of tips from the Hotmix Tips and Recipes Facebook group). The higher temperature range means that caramelising can be done. The degree by degree and wait temp function (ie. It can stop cooking or cook at a certain temperature after a temperature has been reached) are amazing for jams, custards, eg...Read more
g sauces and so on. It can knead unsupervised too unlike the thermomix. And you can save recipes as you go straight into the machine. The lack of scales makes no difference - I either pop the bowl on scales I have and measure into it, or if I need to be careful about putting too much of an ingredient in (as with liquids you can't just take it out if you poor too much in) I use a separate bowl. Oh and bamboo baskets or normal steamer inserts fit on top of the machine as a varoma replacement without taking more cupboard space. If you're going to fork out the money for a thermomix, these machines are definitely worth considering. It has all the pros of a thermomix, plus is programmable, a bigger temperature range and beget temperature abilities. Not as many recipes, but there's so many thermomix recipes online that work too for extra ideas. Plus after a while you get so used to the machine you can convert your own recipes just like you can with a thermomix.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

A machine that can compete with Thermomix!
After using the Hotmix machine for a period of a few weeks, I have found it to be a capable machine. With its high temperature I was able to make toffee and my kids favourite, Honeycomb with no problems. This guy will get to 190°C with no problems, so that toffees are possible, I also liked the temperature control, degree by degree. Other brands can only go 10 x 10. So it did not have any scales, I can live without this, its not a biggie. get this, I can also program it, it has a SD thingy in the back so I can program and play with the recipes already supplied, I also liked the rubber feet that reduces the risk of it "dancing" off the bench when I do dough.
Love It, and its quieter that Thermomix, with a bigger motor

What is the temperature range, can you make quality ice cream and i mean quality. I got an icecream machine and the ice cream comes out all grainy and gross, the fat splits and makes it taste odd.

Is this machine reliable and is there a service centre in Australia if problems arise? Thanks!

Hello, are there any plastic parts inside the jug or that come into contact with food? Eg at the base, or between the blades and base? And does the jug go in the dishwasher? Many thanks.
