Lightweight, durable and great speed
I bought it from Costco and paid less than $2000 for an i7 processor, 16Gb Ram and 1Tb hard drive. It is fast and I use it for converting video live recordings to upload to YouTube which tasks a lot of processor power but it does it without any lag.
Having a laptop this light with the i7 processor and the large 1Tb drive is hard to come buy without forking out closer to $3000 for a similar spec and build quality and weight. One of the best laptop I have bought in a long time. It comes with it own converter cable for HDMI as well as a pen and laptop sleeve, which are often only available as an additional cost.
Purchased in July 2021 at Costco for A$1,999.00.

HP Spectre X360 13-AP0007TU
Up front I need to state that the HP Spectre X360 13" range of laptops are fantastic! This was our third however this particular model (moreso the screen technology used) has let HP down drastically and is a significant disappointment as a consumer.
As an previous owner of Spectre X360's I've been completely dedicated to the platform for a long time. I was excited to get the new model and its cool Poseidon Blue colour. It wasn't until the final stages of the sales process that I was made aware that this model has the 'Sure View' screen. It was...Read more
explained to me as an electronic privacy screen which can be turned on and off. There was no display unit to show me this unfortunately. It turns out that whilst this screen has has double the refresh rate (120hz) its a serious step back in terms of screen brightness, clarity and quality. There is a faint grid across the entire screen, whites have a yellow tinge and the back-lighting causes a shadowing effect similar to the old TFT laptop screens. This means you have to have the screen on an exact angle to see most of the screen in the same brightness. Even then theres abit of a tunnel vision effect. For a premium product (and one of the highest specs you can get) this is an incredibly disappointing laptop. Unless you absolutely need the privacy feature... avoid the Sure View panel at all costs. I'm returning mine for a swap or refund. Really really bad HP. Drastically improve or retire this technology from consumer grade laptops. Update: Pic below... Sure View on left (new generation), regular 1080P screen on right (previous generation). Both on full brightness and windows night mode OFF.Purchased in January 2021 at Harvey Norman.

Screen cracks by itself.
I have the Convertible 13-ae0xx. It's got a high specs which I liked very much. But the screen cracked while I was doing a normal internet browsing and typing notes with the keyboard. I raised to HP support but they would not cover it and was escalated a couple of times. Their support team is being difficult to deal with. Now they are offering to repair it for a huge sum of $920. Giving it 2 stars for the low durability of the screen and for poor service and support of this premium (read: expensive) machine.

Good 2 in 1 laptop
I bought this 2 months ago from Harvey Norman. Love the design. Lightweight 13 inch convertible laptop. Good picture and sound quality. Handy for everyday use. It heats very quickly ( roughly after 40 minutes of continuous usage) which is a negative point. Battery drains quickly and needs frequent charging.

Laptop broke less than one year
The screen starts flickering vigorously less than one year after purchasing the item, got to send back for warranty claim. It seems working fine now, but occassionally the screen will still flicker out of no reason, but not as vigorously as before, will see how far this can last me.

Computer says Yes
Great laptop, brilliant speakers. Keyboard is easy to use - the change between the pad mouse and the touch screen mouse is very sensitive where as moving the cursor when using the touch pad is not sensitive. Screen size is perfect, wonderfully light weight. Does everything it says it should.

it has a new problem each day!
There is something wrong everyday and I'm either on the phone or chating with HP support!!
The screen goes black all of a sudden even though it has battery and you can still hear the fan, so I assume its on when that happens. Although it is not responsive to any key or touchpad nor mouse. And it only works if I plug in into the charger cable for a few minutes and I don’t carry my charger everywhere because I assume my laptop is charged!
And the fan is very loud at times even though I don’t use the laptop for any heavy work and my main use i...Read more

It left a bad taste in my mouth.
I made my brother buy me a brand new Hp spectre x360 from America to Ghana.
I used it a little over a month. Now my camera isn't working. I have tried everything to rectify but it's still not working. I installed a new windows but still not working. I tried everything.

Best computer I have ever owned
Best laptop I have ever purchased. Just like a macbook only cheaper, with a quality touch screen and windows OS. Very compact machine, converts to a tablet PC, perfect for taking to meetings etc. Screen quality is brilliant and it is a very stylish looking computer. Cannot think of even one reason why I wouldn't recommend this.

White Spectre laptop overheating
Purchased the white Spectre in March 2018. Beautiful looking laptop but overheating badly. Contacted HP in July when scorch marks appeared on the underside and the motherboard was replaced. This seems to have fixed the overheating but I am very cautious now and do not use it for long in fear it may catch fire. During repair it was scratched, the silicone underneath not longer sticks and windows can not be activated because of the new motherboard.
HP does not replace parts where there is cosmetic damage so I now have a laptop that looks years old.

Good but horrible power button
This laptop is good and does everything that is required of it reasonably well. However the fact that it has an SSD is almost negated by its absolutely USELESS power button, that is located on the side (where it can be inadvertently pressed if it is in a bag, and the fact that it NEVER works the first time you push it. To this day I still don't know if I am meant t push it for a longer period of time, or just push it once, because every time I end up pushing and holding it down after five attempts. For the love of God, put the button on an upper surface next to the keyboard and make it responsive to use!

Great Looking Computer with some minor glitches
Got the computer at the start of this year. Great looking computer with decent processor speeds and touch screen capability. The option of turning it 360 is fantastic - especially the part where the keyboard becomes inactive. Makes it really easy to use it for teaching purposes and to annotate on the screen. Battery life is average and lasts a good 4 to 5 hours of usage. However, the last few weeks, have encountered problem with the keyboard. Some of the buttons and lights have stopped working and I am currently having it looked by a technician.

Overheating
The laptop is aesthetically nice and runs well but it overheats to the point where the laptop shuts down. I have had the fan replaced by the manufacturer and am still having the same issue. Another technician came to look at it and said that there is nothing they can do. I have been offered a credit note for the item.

Awesome computer until it caught fire.
I actually really liked this laptop until 9 months it, it started smoking and caught fire near the USB port. That was scary enough, but then the support process has actually been way more painful as I had to make 8 phone calls to even get an understanding of when someone might be able to come and have a look at the problem (cmon guys, it started flaming, you think its cool just to repair a few parts and it'll all be sweet?)
The technician didnt turn up 3 times, or at least that is what support told me. Then after he does arrive over a week ...Read more
later, what a surprise I have to "escalate the issue" and wait 3 business days to get an answer on what happens next. So I still have no idea what to do, except to just research a better brand and hope HP support will figure their stuff out and get me a laptop that won't catch on fire in the middle of my office. Buyer beware!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Looks good - but far from it
At first was in love with my HP spectre. After about 18months, the key board stopped working with only some of the keys. Fortunately I was able to use the touchscreen to do limited things as it’s not possible to type word documents easily using the touchscreen.
Anyway - At first I was pleased to have paid for an extended warranty (another 2 years), but it was all in vain. I took my laptop in to be checked, and was told it had slight water corrosion- the repairer said the casing was very shallow and if the laptop was on a desk or bench and w...Read more
ater had spilled - the vents on the base of the laptop suck up the water beneath it. I was surprised to hear this as I have looked after my laptop so lovingly and did not recall any water spillage near or around the laptop. I was told the keyboard would need to be replaced $300-450 approx...I went to another repairer who told me a different reason he suggested it was a design flaw with these laptops as the aluminium casing was very thin and was more likely to have been condensation within the unit and not liquid damage. So extremely disappointed - be wary of these types of issues.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Beautiful product, annoying bloatware!
I'd like to start by praising the build of this product! HP has caught up to the competition by creating a superbly built, sleek, and beautiful laptop that feels sturdy to hold, yet remains highly flexible! The battery life is decent, screen looks spectacular, and the keyboard feels great too!
My main criticism is the backlit keyboard isn't very clear in dark use (although I don't look anyway, my mum's older eyes suffer), the speakers sound very average and lack any bass whatsoever (can't expect much from an ultrabook though), and there's SO MUCH HP BLOATWARE. I performed a clean windows reinstall after getting sick of 3 reminders every day from 30 different preinstalled HP services that don't want to disappear.

I love my spectre
I have had 2 laptops before this, they ended up being really slow and started to die on me- or because I dropped them that their monitor cracked.
My Spectre x360 I feel is a reliable laptop especially handy for a student or on-the-go business person. I love how I can move the screen all the way to the back of the keyboard and it would function as a tablet.
The ways the keys feel are amazing, not like the other 2-in-1 tablet models where the keys feel flimsy or spongey.
Unfortunately I bought a model without the stylus, and I am still tryi...Read more

Awesome Laptop!
It is the best laptop purchase thus far. Very light and compact. Easily to maintain and use. Sound is very crisp as is the picture. Can not fault this laptop at all. Every other laptop that I have had do not last and end up dying and a heavy to lug around. Love that it's also convertible.

Works as Well as it looks!
Purchased from JB Hi Fi. this was a run out model as HP are upgrading to from this Gen 7 to the New Gen 8 i5 Processor.
Very happy with this machine. Super fast start up time. Processor speed is more than fast enough for my daily needs, and windows 10 makes set up easy.
This Spectre has 8GB ram. I have a Surface pro 3 for work with only 4GB Ram which oftern runs short of RAM and starts glitching. So i would recommend getting as high spec as you can afford as you can not upgrade in the future.
Overall - No complaints so far.
