Tucson Highlander
Finally picked up my wife's Tucson, waited 5 months, and initial impressions are good. This car replaces her 2012 Kia Sportage, and in comparison, the Tucson rides a bit smoother, the engine feels a bit more refined, and overall, it feel a bit better than the Kia. The beige leather interior looks great, and doesn't get as hot when left in the sun, but time will tell how hard it will be to keep clean. On the 220km drive home from picking it up, my wife wasn't sure if she liked it, as she had loved the Kia, but after another 200km drive the next day, she has decided that she does love it and it's a worthy replacement for the Kia. I will update this after we have done a few more kms.

The Mazda & Hyundai that I drove have similar specifications, & choice of car will always be based around personal preferences.

Tucson Hylander
Traded an IX35 (great experience) for a Tucson in Sep 15 (2500 klm up). So far I'm very pleased with the car. It's everything the motoring writers claim.
A few anomalies so far:
1. Nav system went blank but was okay on restart and has never happened again to date.
2. Similarly, the LCD display went blank, but again fixed by a restart.
3. On occasions the engine seems to (at low revs) miss fire and/or lag. Not sure if it's the engine or transmission wanting to change up. I usually force the car into changing up and the problem goes aw...Read more
