Great little outfit

published

Traveled the Gibb River Road sure a few screws came loose all the better for me to improve the van with better fasteners. Have been to remote places with the Outback Eagle and let me tell you this van has performed quite well.
It has handled the conditions well above my expectations. Spending most of the time on corrugated roads, not asphalt and getting the van dirty like it was meant to be. Keep travelling

Poor quality product and even poorer customer service.

Purchased Penguin Jayco van. Issues included:
- exposed break wires
- fridge that didn’t get cold
- stove that didn’t work
- inability to access water from second tank
- other issues with loose screws and missing covers

Tour of Australia was cut short due to inability to actually use the van. Have been home over a month now and still waiting for parts to fix the stove.

Recently paid a deposit on a new van but on collection it turned out to not be suitable.
The sales and service staff both got involved and really went out of their way to help us.
Great customer service and would highly recommend Jayco Sydney

Great if u replace entire plumbing

No pressure at sink. Had to hacksaw pipes off underneath and relay new straight STRAIGHT pipes. Also would not drain out.Better now. Handbasin drains into drawer. Apart from plumbing all good. Also after filling tanks, water goes into cupboard because no silicone.

Leaking new Jayco campervan no interest in reparing

published

Purchased a new Jayco Swan from Bayswater Jayco December 2103 - van only is used for 2 weeks every summer and kept under cover when not in use. Recently completed a 3 week trip up the east coast only to find all four corners of the van leaked when it rains to the point couch was saturated, Contacted dealer to be informed that roof sealant needs to be replaced every 3 years!!! Tried to book it in for repairs advised earliest was 4 months away and provided contacts of private repairers. Little wonder the word of mouth around every caravan park we visited is that people would never purchase another Jayco!

service from Andrew and other sales members was excellent. They were quite Happy for us to browse and put no pressure on us at all. Andrew was more than willing to answer all our questions and show us whatever we wanted to see..We both felt extremely happy with our final decision and felt we were given a great deal. The help we were given when we picked up our van was also fantastic and we would reccomend Jayco to anyone wanting a van. Thanks Andrew Dowsett for your friendly warm and down to earth personality.

Have been trying to call Jayco spares on 03 8792 2042 and no answer for two days. You can leave a message but still calls have not been returned. Maybe I should send smoke signals... Very poor customer service.

Stay away from Jayco Gold Coast!

published

From a lying salesman, the pre-delivery not being undertaken, a faulty electrical system found at hand over, 6 faults found on the first day, an endless list of faults found after our first trip, serious problem with the pop top roof that could have had a dramatic outcome on the highway, to a non understanding and useless dealer principal, nightmares and your worst experience are guaranteed. We had to involve the Head Office from Melbourne and the SEQ Regional Manager to get something sorted. if you are after a great experience buying a Jayco, I would definitely look at another dealer. Yours in camping!

Jayco Front Wheel Alignment

published

We bought a used Jayco Mercedes Conquest with 20,000 km on it. Found out the wheel alignment was still at factory settings when the Cab chassis was built in Germany. Neither Jayco nor dealer bothered to do a proper alignment after the motor home was built. The left front tyre was riding on less than 1/3 of the tread. Very unsafe and causes excess tyre wear. Camber bolts had to be fitted to get proper alignment (went to Goodyear as best price). When purchasing any new motorhome make sure as part of the deal that they align the wheels.

Jayco does not accept responsibility and says it should be covered by Mercedes Warranty which of course has nothing to do with warranty as Jayco added the motorhome unit to the cab chassis.

Spare parts

I have been warned many times how bad the spare parts department is.
I went to jayco sydney and nowra for the quote..
I now have been waiting 3 weeks for the price of my side panels which went yellow and cracked from the sun .The motorhome is only 7 years old..
So many owner are saying the same thing .
Your motorhomes cannot handle the australian sun and please do something about your spare parts department around australia.

I have a Jayco Freedom caravan and it had a broken window, went to Prestige Jayco Geelong. Could not get to first base had to go to Jayco Melb then took 2 weeks to get the window. Prestige Jayco Geelong have no idea about customer service and do not take care of Jayco customers. Will never buy another Jayco, no service take your money then forget about you. Plenty know about lack of service at Jayco Geelong.

Just bought a new 2022 Jayco journey in March got it home and noticed all the silicone seal has come away from the door after seeing another of the same model realised our stopper is right next to the door. On opening the door and putting latch on to hold open it is separating door from van. Can't get in till may to have it assessed. So we have a new van that can't be used till who knows when poor workmanship can't see what other problems there may be because we can't take it out as water will get in the split seals. Has anyone else experienced a similar problem or know how they will be able to fix it.?

Your aircon has a water outlet pipe on the roof, it is normal that it drips off the roof. Make sure your van is level and if you are concerned have it slightly up on the awning side by driving your wheels onto some bits of timber.
