Amazing vehicle!
I bought a Laredo 4x4 MY2015 and i have to say i am very impressed by the vehicle. It handles great on the road and has enough power to keep you excited and has decent off-road capabilities on moderate terrains. Ofcourse this vehicle is not trail rated and does not look good for extreme off-roading but it will not burn a hole in your pocket either. The cabin is very spacious with great leg room (very important for my 6'2" frame) and has incredible luggage space. The interiors are decent which fabric seats (not leather) which worked out fine for...Read more
someone like me who is not a big fan of leather. Only issue i have is with the climate control system. Because it is set as a function of temperature, the air conditioning keeps switching between warm and cold air to maintain the temperature and it is very annoying. Maybe there is a way to fix this in the user manual but i havent got around to reading it fully. All in all, very happy with the purchase!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

March 2017 Built Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4 - HOLY CRAP this is great
After looking at different dealers and listening to their attempts to push us into a 2015 built Grand Cherokee or even a 2016 built model ( in May of 2017), we weighed up the differences between a WK2 and a WK 2.5 and their sitting around waiting for a buyer potential problems, which could be many or none ... who actually knows.
Well there are a few subtle differences between them, but from the outside, its a bit harder to tell, they are as you'd know basically the same well known body shape. A proven winner, both here and overseas.

Still going strong
After having written my original review I thought I should add a bit more, seeming as the original was 18 months ago now. Well I can report that my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee has now done 75000 ks without a hitch. A variety of driving conditions, towing a 2500 k caravan, city and country driving and occasionally in 4wd. No problems at all and still just as powerful, comfortable and stylish as when I purchased it new in 2014. I am still perplexed as to why Jeep has such a hate following. Perhaps jealousy or envy but I still find it incredible that...Read more
people bag what to me has been just a brilliant car that I wouldn't hesitate to purchase again or recommend anyone to purchase. If your thinking about buying one take it for a drive and make your own decision. BTW I am not employed by Jeep or in anyway affiliated with the company, just a puzzled consumer who has one of the best cars I've ever owned!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Best Car I've ever owned and I've owned a few
I'm 56 years old and have owned a lot of vehicles over the years, in 4WD/SUVs I've owned 2 Pajeros, a Subaru wagon, a Jeep KJ Cherokee, a Diesel Suzuki Grand Vitara and a 100-series Landcruiser, The Diesel Jeep Grand Cherokee is Head and shoulders above any of these vehicles and anything else I test drove at the time of buying, particularly when you take into account its fantastic value for money. I bought the Laredo Diesel because it’s so well appointed, I couldn't see the sense in buying the higher models, the only option I chose was a tow ba...Read more
r, it can tow 3500kg braked and I towed a Whitley Cruiser 630 which weighs approx. 2200kg with no problems whatsoever. The driving experience is fantastic, the things that stand out for me is its smoothness, it’s not trucklike like some large 4WDs its much more large sedan like, it has a remarkable turning circle and the power steering is very light, I drove my mates V8 Commodore and the Jeep feels like a smaller car because it’s so light, and you sit up higher, which is great for any trip. The other thing I like is the power, or more particularly the Torque, the 3-litre diesel is actually quicker than the 3.6 V6 and the 5.7 V8 Petrol versions, don't believe me, go to carsales.com.au and compare for yourself, mine is the 2012 model. Running costs are cheaper than both petrol models too, but of course this has to be offset by the higher purchasing costs so I can understand why some people go the 3.6 petrol, I have 2 mates who bought them and they are very happy, just be aware that it has a lower 2700kg towing capacity for the V6 petrol, but that's usual ample for most people. I have owned it for 4.5 years and the reliability has been great, yes there has been some recalls but they were done during normal servicing and so no cost or inconvenience to me. The interior is well set out with plenty of legroom front and back, plenty of bottle holders and storage areas, including a large centre bin under the front drivers’ passengers centre arm rest. The car comes standard with a 30GB hard-drive so there is no need to lug around a heap of CDs, just load them onto the hard-drive and leave the CDs at home, the standard sound system is fantastic, I can't imagine how good the ones are in the upper models. I have kept fuel figures since I purchased this vehicle and if 4.5 years, I have averaged 9.8 L/100kms, that's real figures and fantastic for such a large heavy vehicle, which by the way, handles very well too. I would recommend this car to anyone in the market for this type of vehicle, don't listen to the urban myths, yes Jeeps of old weren't this good, but those reputations do not apply to the current crop, at least go test drive one and see for yourself, I did on a wet and rainy Tuesday, so no other customers about, the salesman and I went for over an hour, we even took it home and parked it in my garage to make sure it fitted, that was a V6 petrol, I was very impressed but missed the Torque of my previous diesel so took the diesel for a drive, I was sold as soon as I left the kerbside. Love it so much my lease is up in 6mths, I'm going to pay out the residual figure and keep it. MY model makes 177 kW and 550 Nm, the latest versions make 184 kW and 570Nms, this very same engine is even used by Maserati and the state of tune in their vehicle makes 220kW's it’s a gem of an engine.Purchased in August 2021 for $54,545.00.

Too many problems
2013 Grand Cherokee Laredo drives beautifully and I love it - when it's working properly. Sunroof exploded in first year while driving - luckily sun shade was closed or our baby would've worn all that glass. Aircon currently not working, second time I've had to return to dealership for this problem. I live in the tropics so aircon is kind of necessary. They love telling me that everything is not covered under warranty, so I have to go all crazy-lady on them to get it fixed. Air suspension system has never really worked properly, and keeps beepi...Read more
ng at me, but apparently they can't find any problems. Lost count of how many days worth of lost productivity this has cost. So frustrating. Lucky it drives well when not having problems, because it's a royal pain in the head when it does, and that is often.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Grand car at realistic price
It's been a year since buying Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo and it's been a dream to drive. It's diesel so it is super economical with the added bonus of being a very quiet drive. It's certainly got grunt but you barely hear the engine from inside the cabin.
I've done a number of road trips from Melb to northern NSW and each has been a very comfortable journey for everyone. Our most recent trip up north costs us a total of about $150 (up and back together).
Great stereo options with SD, USB, CD slots. Great climate control and lumber suppport i...Read more

Jeep Diesel Grand Cherokee
My 2014 Laredo Grand Cherokee is the best car I have ever owned. I have always owned SS Holden Commodores and have realised with all the speeding cameras the commodore is a pretty useless vehicle. Not to mention the very high fuel consumption of the V8s. My Jeep is a V6 diesel that pulls like a train and uses a third of the fuel of the V8s.
I tow a 1.6 tonne speed boat and passing is effortless. I think that the Jeep looks very masculine inside and out. My wife even bought one, so we have one in grey and one in white. On the highway it ru...Read more

2015 Laredo - exceeds all expectations
Purchased a Laredo diesel demonstrator after selling a 2 year old Mercedes CLS. We were turning into grey nomads and wanted to go Caravanning.
After reading quite a few negative reviews I was preparing for the worse, but interestingly everyone I met or knew who owned one raved about them. So setting my expectations a bit lower than I needed, I plunged in and purchased a car with 3000Ks with sunroof for <$50K, and then i upgraded to add parking sensors and navigation.
Having owned the car for 4 months and done a few big trips, I am astonishe...Read more

Beware
Since the S 49 software update my jeep has been ruined by fan going flat stick (can't be good for the fan motor).
The patch to fix this has failed. They refuse to remove the update. Prior to this it was performing ok with the exception of the electronic accelerator. Please Jeep come up with a solution urgently. I would be interested in a class action if anyone is going down this track.

It delivers
I drove 3 Prado's previously and even though a great vehicle they never upgraded the engine and lacked what modern diesels can deliver + it was $10k cheaper. The Grand Cherokee has loads of power, fuel efficiency and pulls well. Now 3 years old and 80,000kms only required software updates early on to correct cruise control. Have done some offroad and find clearance the only issue and have been told there's not a good answer for a lift kit due to vehicle weight (light vs aerodynamics) and computerised driving systems.

We love our Jeep GK
We purchased our new Jeep and haven't looked back! Stylish and very functional. Tows our 2.5 tonne caravan with no issues what so ever. We had always sworn by Land Cruisers but since buying our Jeep in 2013 we will def be buying another one! Service is second to none and to me this is important!

Awesome vehicle pity about running costs
First of the 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee's a CRD its been the best 4x4 with awesome power to pass trucks, great fuel economy and towing capacity,it is capable off road.Only challenges are the service intervals( why less than OS?) and oil filter parts/costs if you do use it off road invest in some Chief Products guards as the standard fibre ones are worthless.
I've Done 231,000km.
A/C Condensers seem to be an issue I've had two.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo Diesel, 64,000km question.
Have had our Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo Diesel since early 2014. The 64,000km question is when will all the problems start. Haven't had one problem and yet all I get is hearsay about all the people that have had a lemon.
I'm getting very tired of it, the Jeep has towed a 2.5 tonne van through eastern Australia, 30,000kms. Never missed a beat. Coming up to warranty expiry (in 3 months). Having travelled 64,000kms I am tempted to keep it and persist. This is the longest I have ever had a car, typically replaced bi-annually and ranged through a...Read more

piece of crap
The dumbest think I have ever done is buy a 2013 3.0l grand Cherokee.
This is my second Grand Cherokee, the first one we great this thing has had 12 warranty issues the last issue was it sick of the unreliability I have now purchased a New Pajero .
This is my company vehicle and not having a vehicle really affected my work commitments. This thing was riddled with electrical issues.( to many to list ) The last issue when it when in limp home mode and it took the dealer 16 days to fix, I was told that the vehicle was 10 day out of warranty but I only have 44,000km on it. Well after threatening leangle action, Jeep Australia coved the repair and supplied a loan vehicle.
Never ever will I purchase another.

Auto gearbox overheating badly on days where ambient temp 5 to 8 deg C
Purchased new 2013. Used for towing 2.5 ton caravan auto serviced at 30k at 43k (just out of warranty) engine management light on shortly after overheat warning on trans. Checked by dealer told by dealer to drive vehicle until light comes on again and then return to dealer without turning motor off. Bad luck I am travelling interstate. Problem has occured again about 1k later. Different dealer about as useful as first. Out of warranty Jeep don't want to know. Past experience on lesser problems ignored by Jeep. Most certainly would not buy another Jeep.

NASTY JEEP PROBLEM
My MY11 Jeep Grand Cherokee developed a cracked left hand head at Cyl #2 on the Pentastar engine after only 60,000 Km. When I researched it I found it was a common problem but they did not do a recall. It's reported on the Internet that 8,000 of these failed and they have made three revisions to the head to try to fix it. I got it fixed then sold my jepp. NO MORE JEEPS FOR ME.
