Good response for a budget ticket

Jetstar allowed us to rebook a new fare without penalty in 6 months time to avoid the current crisis. I had to wait about 50 minutes on the phone to speak to someone but I can only imagine how many people are ringing at the same time. I think they are doing their best in this horrible situation.

Although I booked through Wotif/Expedia for a package holiday, Jetstar/Qantas are giving us a voucher to the value of our flights due to coronavirus cancellation, unlike Wotif/Expedia for our hotel stay! Thank you, awesome.

Jetstar are really an appalling airline. It really is false economising, for the small amount less than Qantas & Virgin you pay in other ways.

Horrible Customer Service

I needed to change my flight and it has taken Jetstar over an hour to answer their phone. I have been made to listen to ads for over half an hour. Terrible customer service!



Rip off and horrible customer service

Rip off would not recommend this air line. I paid and bought extra 15kgs for my flight when I went to check in I was told to go to the gate. When I went to the gate they told me that my bag was 9kgs which is 2kgs over approved limit. (note: I still had 15kgs that I pre purchased) the women at the gate was rude and didn’t listen tome cut me off and said I had to pay $65 for the 2kgs. This was a 6am flight. horrible customer service and this is how they make money by ripping people off. DO NOT recommend and will not be ever using jet star.

Lack of compassion corona virus cancellations

Booked a flight through flight center for 9 to Sydney return to Melb for a 15 day cruise,
After spending 3 hours on the phone,was finally told by a consultant,we don't give refunds or credits and we would have to use the flight which is 1 week away,where do people go when there is a world wide pandemic? The I don't seem to care consultant could not tell me,we got credits or refunds from,the cruise line, motel, car parking,
And even the travel insurer, why are jet star the most incompassionate company that
I have ever dealt with?Well next time I wont have a problem giving virgin the $1700 +that

Ground staff threatened to call the feds when I wanted confirmation about if my daughter would sit near me on a new flight when they canceled our original trip, the ground staff were rude not helpful and couldn’t confirm anything. Will never fly them again

Had 20kg allowance
I went to gate with 10kg bag
Laptop alone weighs 3.5kg
Made me pay extra $65 even though I am allowed 20kg and only had 10kg on me
It was obvious that they had a slow week and this was a quick way to make extra $$
Shameful act and would rather pay double the fair to fly with another airline who can treat you with respect not just some low lives at the gates trying some terrible ways to raise revenue. This is one airline I won’t feel sorry for when they collapse

Paid for travel insurance and never received insurance certificate. Beware and check for this!

I selected, and paid for Travel Insurance, during the flight booking process.

Prior to leaving in my flight, I requested of Jetstar a copy of the insurance certificate. I was redirected to their insurance provider being AIG. AIG advised me that the insurance had been canceled, although I had paid for it. Jetstar were still hanging onto the insurance money and had not forwarded it to AIG claiming it was a system error.

Please check your flight details carefully to ensure that you have received an insurance certificate when you have booked travel insurance.

Always a smooth flight

I have always flown with Jetstar and have never had any issues, other than flight delayed due to weather. The service is basic but you can't complain when you can get flights for $39. Staff are always friendly. Top of the line for a budget service.

Very poor

Staff can’t care less - even for the operational aspects. Lady at gate completely stuffed up an orderly queue by encouraging people to push in by creating a second queue for passengers at the back of first queue. Created chaos at the gate and plane left 20mins late all because some incompetent person didn’t understand how queues work.

Excessive charges to change booking

In April 2022 I paid $178 for a Hobart/Brisbane return flight departing May 2020. Because of illness, I attempted to change flight dates online this week. The fare difference shown was an extra $104. However when I entered the changed dates as if it was a new booking, the total fare was just $198 - a fare difference of only $20. Shame on JetStar. I am very disappointed that this company takes advantage of loyal customers.

Flights are delayed / cancelled

The staff on the service desks were a little "abrasive" when dealing with customers who's flights had being cancelled. Was disappointed, as they are dealing with people including the elderly and with children who now have to change plans. A little bit of empathy would go a long way.

Jet Star kidding yourself

Stitched up again by Jetstar. How can you cancel a 3:25pm flight at 4am when almost all other flights that day are running. If you’re going to cancel a flight at least give the real reason and give Options for same day flights not next day flights.

I had my flight cancelled at 1 am in the morning, and no morning flights available as an alternative. I missed an important event because of this. Excuse used was weather conditions, but weather conditions at the place of destination were not a problem according to the weather bureau. I have lost not only airfares, but accommodation as well. Just disgusted by this action which has caused emotional stress to myself and family members. There is no-one in person to contact and website conveniently shuts down when asking for a refund.,

Always Delayed !!!

Third time in 6 months I have had 30 min -90 min delays on flights internationally and within Australia, not great service at all!! Jetstar needs to get its act together.

I would rate this a negative 100 if I could!! They don’t even deserve 1 star.

Booked my husband for a flight from Melbourne to Adelaide because he had to be to early morning meeting. Every time (5+) we have flown this airline they have been delayed so we hoped that would not happen today for his meeting. It did and now he is arrived 2 hours late and late for meeting...this airline is absolutely unreliable and the cost savings (though they nickle and some you for everything and it adds up) is not worth it....proven to us again why we do not fly with Jetstar

Why on earth can’t you help your customers and if they’re late for just 1 minute for Check-in why can’t you just help!!!! I had a family emergency and on top of that you charge me MORE money to get on a flight the next day! You hide behind your terms and conditions. That amount of money can make our break a person Jetstar. As a company you have no ethical boundaries. Air NZ NEVER would have done that!!!!!
