Dumped like thousands of other loyal customers while overseas.
I have flown interstate several times and overseas about five times with Jetstar. Up until recently not ONE single complaint, I know hard to believe - But true. Their onboard hot chocolate and toasted sandwiches are the best and I cannot stand screens or being woken up for some pre-frozen stale food, for me the perfect airline. leg back to Australia...... but not so. I had to evacuate. Now this is where things started to hurt. Jetstar charged me $466 extra baggage fee for the pram as my child was not with me and then a few days later cancelled my return ticket to Singapore and left me stranded. This excess baggage fee for the one way leg, for the pram, was more expensive than my return ticket. JETSTAR you really are greedy. I will soon be asking for a full refund for the return leg you cancelled and some type of consideration with regards for the pram. If Jetstar agree to both of my requests then we will still be friends. So far only Agoda have had the guts to refund anything with regards to our shattered holiday. Unfriendly customer service
Have booked a few flights with Jetstar and only once has it all gone to plan. I have tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but its hard when they are unreliable. Overall the planes I have been on are ok, nothing special but I have never met such unfriendly crew. Flights are cheap but you get what you pay for...

No Budging with Jetstar
I am appalled at the lack customer care and the inflexibility this airline has. We booked our trip to Bali well and truly before any travel restrictions were set by the Australian Government, due to COVID-19. Our travel agent (who has conducted herself with the upmost professionalism and care) has attempted to obtain a cash refund verses a voucher, no go Jetstar!! Jet star stealer
I am very disappointed with the Jetstar company. I am requesting a refund for the canceled Brisbane-Melbourne flight ($ 610) the day after I booked it. Jetstar offers me only a voucher that I cannot use. I am trying to returning to my country on Thursday and have no other flights available before this day. I had to rent a car to cross the country, 3350 km and I only have $ 20 left in my account today. They don't want to hear anything. Jestar is taking advantage of these times of crisis to rip off people. No value ! Shame on you

Should be refund not voucher
Due to retrenchments people should be entitled to a refund. We are struggling out here. I can't see myself being able to travel in the next 12 months. Wont be able to afford it. Jetstar has no compassion.

Incompetent
Travelling home from Bali in March no problem with the flight until they announced that they had forgotten the forms to hand to customs.Corona Virus is sweeping the world and they've forgotten the forms which were told to fill in at the airport.OMG no one waiting with the forms, hundreds of people climbing, touching reaching, over each other to get them.
Who is responsible for such an insight in this virus climate?
Jetstar this is unforgivable.Someone should have been waiting with the forms.You are responsible to the people on your flight,obviously NOT.Appauling oversite .
A simple sorry doesn't cut it when we're trying to avoid contact.I felt panicked that we could be infected by such a stupid mistake.

No empathy, no customer service
My husband was retrenched on 9/4/20. That night I booked a flight home from Sydney to Brisbane and paid $45 extra for 20kg of checked baggage.Half an hour later we decided to book an extra 10kg for $18. After completing the extra baggage, I checked the booking immediately, only to discover that the flight had been cancelled. s sent another email by Jetstar reminding me of the cost of extra baggage at the airport and telling me to buy more if the baggage might be over the limit ! Seriously ? Despite numerous attempts at using their website to obtain a refund, I decided to lodge a complaint. After writing my story, I pressed the send button and guess what? It took me straight to thsir 24/7 chat box instead of allowing me to send my complaint ! After going through the whole story, the agent denied me a refund using the 'subject to change' line. Jetstar fails to recognise that it is morally unethical to refund their customers who request one and that denying us our refunds will only ensure that we NEVER fly with them again. My threats of using the Advocate fell on deaf ears which was only to be expected and then the agent reminded me that we all have until April 30 to claim our voucher, thus denying us all the chance to lodge a complaint with the Advocate. Zero stars, zero satisfaction
Most uncaring,miserable company I’ve had the pain of dealing with.Yes Covid19 has disrupted everything;we understand.But Jetstar,you wont refund money that I PAID!?!?Just give me vouchers that I CANT USE?!?!Not only does no one know when we can fly again,but I only needed them next month!!!!NOT AFTER!And if I’d I needed;I will NEVER FLY WITH JETSTAR AGAIN!!!!SHAME ON THIS COMPANY!!!!

Refund refusal
I received an email from JetStar while overseas to say my return flight was cancelled and the could not offer an alternative. Numerous attempts to get a refund for the cost of the flight they cancelled have been refused. I paid for a service that they did not provide yet refuse to return my money. The offer of a voucher is unsuitable and unacceptable to me. Basically JetStar have stolen my money.

This company is despicable! Do not ever trust them! If your flight gets cancelled you should be entitled to a refund! I booked my flight home home, then they cancelled it at the last minute and still charge me anyway! Jetstar should be ashamed of them self's taking peoples money during this time of crisis!

Terrible company,ABSOLUTELY INHUMANE the way they’ve treated my family and I.After having tickets cancelled due to Covid19,I begged for a refund.I paid cash,I want cash back-also I need cash at this time;after losing my job $1200 would be a huge help!!!But could they do that?NO.THEY R GREEDY WICKED COLD COMPANY.They gave me vouchers which only last 6mths-I sincerely doubt any one will be flying in 6mths!!But the worse thing is-If they give u say a $400 voucher but u only book a $300 flight,u lose the $100 remaining!!!Hoe are they allowed to get away with being thieves!?!?Pls join the fb group Jetstar Class Action.This cannot be allowed to continue!!!

Disappointing
With almost $1000 in Jetstar vouchers from cancelled flights between Cairns and Gold Coast, I called regarding using the vouchers on Qantas flights, as no flights available for the next two months from Cairns to Gold Coast or Cairns to Brisbane on Jetstar. Not able to use the vouchers on Qantas flights with available seats!!! Very disappointed as wanted to see my young son living on Gold Coast at this time. Please review your policy. Often when I use Qantas frequent flyer points I am on a Jetstar flight, so please reciprocate, particularly during times of need. Very disappointed.

Refund offer removed
Jetstar offered a refund on their website for places with a level 4 travel ban. Initially it was only China and Iran on level 4. As soon as level 4 was declared for all overseas travel, Jetstar removed the offer from the website.
I requested a refund and customer care got back to me telling me that they acknowledge that the information they provided on their website may not have clearly stated what was on offer under their special policy in place and they apologised.

Greed, lie and cheat
Jetstar should be offering refunds not vouchers during the Covid-19 crisis. Beware: They also change your flights without notifying you.
Even once the flight is cancelled, they only offer a voucher. Jetstar tricks their customers out of a refund in which they are entitled to. If you call them to discuss your options, be prepared to be on hold for minimum 4 hours before being disconnected. Flights are cheap because they’ll always find another way of taking money from you. Total rip off. Hand bag slightly above weight and they force you to pay 65$ to have it checked in. If you want to keep laptop out of it and carry it you can’t do it. Why? Because if it’s in the bag it is above the weight and then they can charge you. Thieves, you should feel ashamed to work for such a company.

They Cancelled my flight and will only give credit note
If Jetstar has just given you a credit note and not a refund, please join our Facebook page “Jetstar Class Action” - together we can try and get our money back
Have flown Jetstar numerous times and never had a problem!
Now they have cancelled my flights and can’t tell me when they can fly me to Good Coast will only give me a credit note.
I’ve been on Jetstar messenger for 4 hours and no response.
Then I wrote to Jetstar CEO who just told me that I can have a credit note-I paid cash why can’t I have cash back?
They have issued me a credit note only.
Avoid them as they take your money then don’t supply what you paid for and will only give you a credit note $822 loss plus accommodation- very unhappy Jetstar!

AVOID. A "credit voucher" is NOT reimbursement
It would be charitable to label JetStar's written description of a Credit Voucher as "reimbursement" as disingenuous. The truth is these emailed 'offers' to customers to accept a voucher (with no alternatives and often with deadlines applied) are deliberately misleading and deceptive, and apparently designed to prevent customers accessing their statutory right to a full refund under Australian Consumer Law. The Collins Dictionary definition of reimbursement is: "If you receive reimbursement for money that you have spent, you get your money ba...Read more

JetStar explicitly refuses to refund all of this, even under direct request via the only available communication channel, web chat. I am now unemployed, as are likely millions of other Australians, and this is material for our family. JetStar's failure to provide any route through which customers can lodge a formal complaint, and its explicit denial of a customer's statutory rights under law to a full refund, is a deplorable way for the airline to act. JetStar's approach to its current challenges also directly contravenes multiple statements in JetStar's published "Consumer Guarantee", when customers most need JetStar to uphold these statements. Avoid at all costs
I have been struggling to get my flights to home for many weeks due to COVID-19 situation. They cancelled my flight (connecting me to the only flight back to home) without any notification less than 24 hour before the departure! They told me my chances are to book another flight for over half of the price to a flight which will probably also get cancelled. No refunds. You cant get through any phone lines What an unprofessional company, avoid!!

Booked a flight from Sydney so my brother could attend a funeral in Darwin. He is in Sydney and on a disability pension. Right from the get go he got daily emails encouraging him to cancel due to COVID 19. The words voucher and reimbursement were used. He elected to cancel under the understanding that a refund would be provided. That’s what reimbursement means to him. Then of course they state a voucher is coming. He doesn’t want a voucher. who stated he was ineligible as he hadn’t complained to Jetstar. The information provided to the ACA was provided to Jetstar who responded via some hack by claiming the flight was going ahead and that he’d elected to cancel so voucher only and no refund. Nice little racket between the ACA and airlines huh. We will complain again to ACA and Consumer Affairs and to every media outlet in the hope that one of them takes up his story as we know thousands of people are ripped off by Jetstar every year. In the meantime, I urge people to boycott Jetstar so they feel the heat AFTER the COVID 19 pandemic. Don’t fly with them ever or any airline that exhibits such mercenary and poor corporate behaviour. Terrible customer servie
We booked our flights with Jetstar for more than 50 people. Due to CoViD19, Australia closed borders to QLD unless it is essential. Also requiring travellers to self isolate for 14 days wether we show symptoms or not. WE WILL ONLY BE IN QLD FOR 5 DAYS!! With the economy at the moment and due to Covid 19, my friends has been laid of work and the refund could help some family at this stage. Again! they blatantly refused us. Booked my husband for a flight from Melbourne to Adelaide because he had to be to early morning meeting. Every time (5+) we have flown this airline they have been delayed so we hoped that would not happen today for his meeting. It did and now he is arrived 2 hours late and late for meeting...this airline is absolutely unreliable and the cost savings (though they nickle and some you for everything and it adds up) is not worth it....proven to us again why we do not fly with Jetstar

Why on earth can’t you help your customers and if they’re late for just 1 minute for Check-in why can’t you just help!!!! I had a family emergency and on top of that you charge me MORE money to get on a flight the next day! You hide behind your terms and conditions. That amount of money can make our break a person Jetstar. As a company you have no ethical boundaries. Air NZ NEVER would have done that!!!!!

Why the staffs are so bad and unfriendly! There should be some basic manners even if they have to shift/adjust our hand baggages, they should ask us first and take our permission to shift and not behave like a cheap staff! Learn to be humble with senior citizens no matter whatever race they belongs to... wheelchair with a staff should do their job properly and not make passenger who accompany to push the wheelchair and these staff simply boycott
I see many bad reviews and I am not surprised at all!! I would never recommend to anyone nor would I fly this airline in future! qantas has a long ways to learn too!! Sad
