KIA CERATO YD SLI 2017
I bought this car in Feb 2017. The feautures are amazing and very advanced similar to a high end car like BMW, Merc etc. good reliability, smooth handling, only makes little noise when try to accelerate on Eco mode drive. Got three Modes, Eco, Normal and Sports. Heaps of standard and extra features. only drawback No CD / DVD Drive.
Mileage is low as compared to advertised. Plenty of leg room for front passengers, ok for the back. Good dashboard. Running cost high due to Low mileage.
Big boot space and 7 years warranty with full spare tyre. Getting used to the new car from my Toyota Yarris Yr.

MY new car
Having only had it 5 days so far so good. I have to readjust myself to new seating etc but good. The drive is good and getting used to it compared to old car. The motor has plenty of power and gearbox has excellent response when going up from slow speed. The legroom is ample but have to sit in back to evaluate it. My passengers are happy so must be ok. Interior is very good. Leg room is a problem [minor] as got to get seats set up properly as being tall makes it a bit harder in/out. So far it is hard to evaluate fuel use as only 5 days old.i wa...Read more
tch the gauge to see if good economy and good as not lead foot. Dashboard is well lit and plenty of instruments to look at. Radio is very good but have only got 2 stations using at present so have to read the manual. Have got Bluetooth installed but can answer in calls but have to work out out calls. Having this car hopefully it will be last in line of 8. The warranty is very good. 7 years/105000 ks,7 years fixed price service and 7 year roadside assist. When i asked about the assist i was told its part of the price etc. I have 50 years NRMA so to keep the continuity of service they drop down membership to Traveller Care and that way i keep up with them and Kia if needed. It covers me IF i need assist outside of 100 km distance and no Kia coverage. I was told by a friend to keep the selling dealer service car and each year the time is added onto the list. Not sure about using cruise control yet but time will see if i do. No noise into cabin as i have 4 weather shields and that keeps it out. September 19th 2017 Update: Using a KIA cerato After buying my Kia and driving for a couple of months I am very happy with it. It has a couple of quirks that need to be remembered. There are 2 small glass windows in front of both side mirrors. Why they are there is not known but very distracting when using the mirrors for lane changing. Also no CD player and only AM/FM radio which are very good in city but not knowing non-city stations makes it hard. I have about 300 CD,s that need to be loaded onto USB's so I can listen to music. As for driving it is very good on open roads and good economy if cruise control and high octane fuel [not E10] is used. Just had free 3000 km service. One bit of advise. IF by chance you need to buy/install new outside mirrors expect to pay $700 plus supply/fit. Just been down that road after someone [clown] hit it. Plenty of boot space and 5 people sit ok. We have baby seat in rear so that cuts it to 4 but still room to sit in comfort. One thing that i found out is the car has 7 year roadside assist as well as your normal company [whatever state]. But you need to contact them and get special price that allows your membership to stay until other expires. It is good for country areas where Kia may not have a presence but they use state wide people.

Great little car
I recently purchased the Kia Cerato. IT is a great little car. It drives very smoothly and has all the little extras that make it a great drive like GPS, bluetooth audio, rear parking camera.
Pros:
7 year warranty with fixed price servicing
Very smooth to drive
Cons
Dashboard takes time to boot up
GPS quite slow to boot up

Great realible car
For the money my cerato has been the perfect car. Never had a single warranty claim in over 3 years of ownership. All it needs is fuel and a service. It is a more basic car but has everything you need.
Drives well for what it is, safe and very reliable.

I just bought a new kia cerato, MY17, automatic, hatchback.
I bought the kia cerato s(av), it is sluggish, the salesman quite stupidly said it is because it is new, what a lot of rubbish, I previously had a 2005 and 2011 ceratos, both immensely superior, smooth cars, plenty of power to move the vehicle. and now the damned stereo system is playing up, the blue tooth drops off and will not work, the stereo stopped working and worked again, and it switched itself off and back on, the interior light does not have an off position, is either on or on, the air vents only go so far, much reduced side to side mo...Read more
vement, and some other issues, instead of making it better the koreans made it worse, what is wrong with you and to make matters worse the fuel consumption is pathetic, my 2011 cerato would get me 520 kms per tank with some left in reserve this new one barely 450 with the empty light on. Pathetic crap. September 15th 2018 Update: 2016 kia cerato hatchback automatic, crap car and worse warranty. I bought this new 2016 kia cerato hatchback, automatic thinking I should have no problems, 7 year warranty, instantly the damn sound system started to turned itself off or losing the sound, the gear box gave me problems, I took it back, they replaced the sound system and told me they are aware of the gear box problems, ceratos and sportages have that problem and kia is working on a fix. I drove away, the sound system turned itself off again, I went back to kia blacktown, nsw australia, they replaced it again, and again it turned itself off. I took it to kia kinsgwood with the problem, the lady there said they would replace it, but after said it is a well known problem and kia is working on a fix, it has been two years and no fix. the gear box is a problem, when you need a stronger gear it does not work, going uphills loses power, it is dangerous, but kia is working on a fix, I guess they are waiting for people to die. I called kia blacktown nsw australia, spoke to the mechanic I have spoken to many times, a nice guy, [name removed], I said enough is enough, two years waiting for that fix, I want the sound system replaced and the gear box replaced, he said to replace the gear box I need to speak to the manager, rubbish, warranty must cover that and they know there is a well known problem which kia blames on software, I do not think so it is the gear box which is a new one, 6 gears and they screwed it up. also the front mats keep on popping out of place, disgusting, disgraceful, crap, crap, crap.Similar opinion? Perfect cars become good overtime
Sounds like there are issues with customers on their Cerato, but I've no problem with my sons Cerato SLi bought in 2015 when it was under 3 years old. I've driven it about a dozen times, when he's allowed me to! I drive an i45 myself so I understand the Korean cars. The car is smooth to drive almost have to step on the gas, the seats are plush and it fabricates my adhesion to the seats. When I drive it is for about 20km to the fuel kiosk. No problem encountered with audio CD player. I've not tested his blue tooth features. I'm satisfied he has bought a very good quality sedan with a warrantee still at age 4! When dealing with Korean car dealers be nice to them and they will give you the world!

Kia Cerato S Premium - very happy
Had the car since new in Dec 2015, now done 38000km and am still very happy with it. Just the one issue - that I also see in some other reviews. The Media/GPS/DVD head unit started playing up - DVD would continue to eject even when no DVD present and screens would randomly jump around. Kia service team got the error codes out of it and replaced it with a newer Carplay head unit, which has so far been great. Overall very happy with the Kia and very pleased about value for money...7 year warranty, bargin.

Fixed at last
An almost 3 month wait to get a simple fault fixed. We found out that after three months a minor fault can be declared a major fault and we can claim a full purchase price refund under Australia consumer law (federal law ). Handy to know when negotiating with an intransigent manufacturer who is claiming supplier problems is the reason for not repairing your car.The satnav rear camera and seat belt warning stopped working in our 2016 ( purchase date) plated 2015) We took it in to be looked at Feb. Finally in April the screen and radio was replaced but not before contacting business and consumer affairs.

I just love this car
I love this car, it is perfect for someone like me who is retired and needs a reliable vehicle. It is fuel efficient, quiet and easy to drive. There is plenty of leg room, both front and rear seats. The air conditioning is good. The boot is very easy to load and unload shopping, in other words it is perfect.

was pleasantly suprised with this little beauty.
this is a great looking car, inside and out and exceptional value for money. The seven year warranty and roadside assist are better than anything offered by any other manufacturer and were a major factor in my purchase. Car is "sure footed" and drives very directly, being easy to handle. Fuel economy surpassed the stated estimates and the interior is smart and comfortable. The boot is surprisingly large. My only criticism is there is more than usual road noise from the tyres that are fitted as factory standard but cannot fault the vehicle in any other way.

a lot of car for the money
This car represents outstanding value for money. Comes with front & rear parking sensors. I also got rear camera.
Has all the essentials and comes with SEVEN years warranty & 12 mnth service intervals. Easy to drive and quite comfy. Auto gearbox works well although gear changes happen a bit late and so fuel economy is only fair. maybe not the outstanding car in its class but you wont get better value.

Kia Cerato Koup 1.6 Turbo 2016
Driving Experience, Great, cannot fault the car. The dashboard is made in a way that all your instrumentation is easy to see as this is at an angel fro the driver. Reliability so far I had nor Problems with the car as I am on 49,757 Km right now. Running costs is affordable for services. I still have a 2011 Cerato 2.0 auto with 257,690km, and I never had a problem with this car that is why I kept the car & did not trade it in on the new car. The interior is like the day I bought the car. Both cars have leather interior.

Great value for money. Beautiful car to drive.
Lovely car to drive. Handles well, quiet on road and very responsive acceleration. Lots of bells and whistles in the S (AV) option. - Love the reversing camera, reversing sensors, auto lights, and all the great little extras. Very happy with the overall performance and handling. The big touch screen and Android auto play is brilliant - Very easy to use and manage. 7 years unlimited km and capped price service warranty is a big plus. Have only had the car for a few days so, can't comment on reliability and fuel consumption yet - time will tell if it lives up to its RACV and Wheels magazine good recommendations. Very good value for money.

2015 Cerato SLi Fantastic vehicle.
Performance is great. In fact the next model (current) has a slightly less powerful 2.0L turbo engine. Very happy with the vehicle. The only problem is, we are waiting for the 3rd warranty changeover of the touch panel as the GPS keeps randomly blacking out. Nuisance is that each time it has taken two weeks to order in the part only to find the same fault in the new one.

Great car but niggling little issues occuring that shouldn't happen.
Purchased almost 4 months ago MY17 Cerato Hatch AV model. Great little car with a powerful 2 litre motor and 6l/100km economy. I've already done almost 10,000km. and apart from niggling small issues all related to the head unit I'm very happy with it.
Current issues are FM radio reception is next to useless. Last car I had I could listen to Gold FM everywhere I drove, lucky to get any reception within 25km from station now.
Radio every now and again switches itself off and then a few seconds later reboots.
Every now and again Bluetooth drops out and won't reconnect until I restart car.
Phone book disappears and it loses all contacts, I either have to force it to scan again or restart car.

Smooth, powerful and sleek - But dealership service disappoints!
Drove a friend's 2016 Cerato and I was so impressed that I bought one for myself. The main reason: very comfortable chair, powerful, sleek (sedan), and smooth.
I have owned Hyundai's and Kias before and they are pretty trouble free and solid. They have come a long way on the handling department.
Unlike most other Kia's/Hyundais, the cerato MY2017 has a decent power to weight ratio, and is reasonably punchy.
Problem I had is that mine had a vibration on the steering wheel from day 1. I got my cerato with an upgrade for the wheels. The...Read more
dealership carried the work as part of a deal. I suspected it was a balancing issue. Made a claim under the warranty, and after a test drive in the highway where the vibration is very present was told that car is "normal". How do you argue with that? you say it vibrates (and it does), he says it doesn't while holding the steering wheel (which vibrates)?Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Excellent value for the price
It took a little getting used to as my previous car was a 4 cylinder Fairmont but now I love it. We compared all the usual small car contenders in this price range at the base model level and decided to buy a car with a few years on it and a lot of extras. So we found the Kia with 30,000 km and a little cheaper than the cost of an entry level new model. Still has 5 years warranty left.
Everything works beautifully. It's a dream to drive, on the freeway and around town. With all round sensors and a rear camera, parking is so easy and it tak...Read more
es little space. On the downside I find the air conditioning fan is too noisy, although it can be turned down, and there is a little too much road noise. This may be because it has skinny tyres which are not a feature I care about. It's got a decent boot for a small car but I haven't transported people in the rear seat so I haven't tested that. I love all it's features, although I'm still trying to work some of them out. On a hot day, the cooled seats are good. The colour is a lovely mid gray, just like every second small car, so I still have trouble picking mine out in the carpark :).Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Enjoy driving it everyday.
The Cerato hatchback has been a terrific car. I bought the higher powered GDI engine and it has done everything from long interstate hauls to the daily suburban grind with ease. In fact there would barely be a day that I've not found pleasure in driving it. Plus it has hauled around a lot of stuff at times. The dealer servicing (Dandenong) has been good and given me the opportunity to drive a range of Kia's as loan cars. All have been good but I'm hoping Kia will release a 1.6 turbo Cerato in time for me to upgrade by the end of this year or early next year.

Great car
This has been a very good car without any problems.
The one time i had a problem they told me to bring it in and they fixed it while i waited 10 ( Idling rough computer update )
Only thing i dont like about the car is it is fitted with soft compound tyres ( Cheapies ) i will only get 60.000 kls out of them but i knew that when i bought it as i read reviews on the net. Apart from that would recommend it to anyone i am very happy with it. They just need to put better tyres and it would be the perfect car.
Just to let you know about Tyres i have had car for 3 yrs now and just changed tyres after 64.000 ks not to bad im happy with that. Still running well.
