Terrible toaster.i have quiet a few kitchenaid products and I love them.this however is the worst toaster I’ve ever bought.it was purchased at David Jones as my Christmas present 2022 and I’ve just opened it,all we get is uneven toasting but worst of all if someone uses it straight after on the same setting it burns it black.its not cheap so I’m really upset

There is not enough gradation between the cooking settings. 2 is undercooked, 3 is burnt.
Even worse with crumpets. It burns the outside edge, but leaves the centre untouched.
I've had a Standmixer for 11 year-end its great, which is why I thought I could trust the brand with a toaster.
Seems Kitchenaid are exploiting their good reputation in mixers, and adding some retro style, but not bothering to invest in the actual function of the toaster. So disappointed.

So I decided to upgrade my trusty sunbeam and unfortunately threw it out because straight out of the box this product under performed. The toaster is completely incapable of even toasting. One side will burn while the other is barely lightly toasted. I wish I could attach photos!

Perhaps more offensive is the ridiculous customer service. Contacted kitchen aid customer service and waited over a week for a response, send back the requested information and 10days (with one weekend) later still no response. Unacceptable.

Wish I have read these reviews before purchasing! Don’t know how they are still selling this piece of crap! Over $200 for a toaster that can’t toast bread! Burnt or uncooked are the only options! Wonder if KitchenAid have even tested this toaster! Returned it and bought a Breville that actually works!

slots are a great size for thick bread, bagels and hot cross buns

stick it on two and everything is perfect!!!!!!!!!!! don't listen to everyone else who is complaining, i genuinely don't know what they're doing wrong. easily the best slot toaster i've ever had. i'm a big fan! yes!

This is a beautiful toaster, but it doesn’t make good toast. I’m not sure if it is just mine, but the element appears bent and so the toast comes out very uneven. On level 2 I get burned edges. I’ve been trying to get in contact with KitchenAid but so far they haven’t been responding. Very disappointed as I’ve loved all my other kitchenAid appliances

Don't buy one side dark other light, not enough adjustment, crumbs catch around join on top this many bad reviews and you buy one you will be sorry bought for my wife as a present thought it was a better quality but old $20 toaster did a better job only good point it looks good, seems don't judge a book by its cover is still true.

I purchased the KA 4 slot toaster as well as the KitchenAid kettle and KA handheld mixer with a $500 birthday gift card from my daughter. It only cooks on one side and even on setting 2 incerates one side of the toast. I wish I hadn't given away my Breville which after 10 years was still toasting perfectly!

I bought this because I loved the red colour and the long shape suited my benchtop. I saw the product at Myer and thought they would only sell a reputable brand. How wrong I was! I should have read more reviews but was missing my morning toast too much. We tried to toast our homemade sourdough but the bread only ever toasted too little or burnt - just around the edges. I'll be returning this white elephant asap.

Received through flybuys points. Looks fantastic! But burns unevenly so much the toast is uneatable... either under cooked in the middle or burnt on the edges. contacted Kitchenaid service team they promptly sent out a replacement. Which does the same thing!!!!! exactly the same, like don't they pre-test there products before making available to the public

This is the most expensive toaster I have ever purchased and the WORST! I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing. It either burns everything or doesn't cook. I have been persistent with it trying every combination of settings. I have tried cooking breakfast muffins, crumpets sour dough and bread slices. The results are terrible every time. This is also the first KitchenAid product I have purchased. The plan was to then buy the kettle, coffee machine and mixer. I won't be going ahead with the other purchases now. Totally disappointed with this brand.

I wish I had found these reviews before purchaing. Lesson learnt. Will check this site in the future.
I expected more from such a reputable brand. No matter what the setting or the bread type, this toaster burns all bread. Actually the only setting it doesn't produce burnt toast is the lowest setting. There it only warms it up. I persisted and tried different bread types with the same results.
Definitely not fit for purpose. Will be taking it back.

I have had this artisan toaster for exactly one day. Even on the lightest setting, it burns the edges of the toast to a crisp- it set off the fire alarm as well. I can't understand why no matter how much I seem to pay for a toaster, they all end up being poor quality.... they toast unevenly, burn the toast... it is a real shame because I love my Kitchenaid mixer and swear by it- we wanted the toaster and kettle to match.

Taking it back today. Nothing Jeremy (below), or anyone else, has said is exaggerated. This is an unbelievably useless product. The house smells of burnt bread all the time. Yes, we bought it because it looked pretty! Wish we'd checked product review first. Fortunately the Good guys will let us return it.
