Terrible toaster.i have quiet a few kitchenaid products and I love them.this however is the worst toaster I’ve ever bought.it was purchased at David Jones as my Christmas present 2022 and I’ve just opened it,all we get is uneven toasting but worst of all if someone uses it straight after on the same setting it burns it black.its not cheap so I’m really upset

Had to bring this toaster back to the store after minimal use as the lever on the side failed to work. The lever was still going down however would not stay in the downwards position to start toasting the bread. We had to either hold the lever down or place something heavy on top to keep it down. Toaster had not been in use very long. Also doesn't toast the bread evenly. Disappointed as Kitchen Aid is a well reputed brand and this toaster was rather expensive. The toaster was still under warranty when I returned it but after waiting months on a replacement, I was told there are no replacements for this model but there were many faulty returned ones at the depot instead. I ended up getting my money back and buying another brand.

No matter which bread or how thick the slices, the edges burn every time while the middle stays untoasted. We've tried each setting and this happens if you have it on a low or high number, it just doesn't toast evenly at all. Very disappointed as we thought this would be a reliable brand, especially at this price point.

This toaster is smart and stylish as well as having great features. Love the long slot, very versatile for the many artisan breads available. Defrost works well, and bread toasts evenly in toast mode.. dry happy with my purchase.

We bought this toaster specifically for the crumpet setting which is totally useless. It also cooks toast unevenly. I will never purchase another kitchenaid product, back to Sunbeam for me!

Fell in love with its beautiful streamlined looks! But that's all its good for - just looking at! Burns the crusts and leaves the middle bits of the bread uncooked, doesn't matter which setting it's on. Crumpets - forget trying to enjoy a crispy crumpet- Ah!! very frustrating. It burns the outer ring, leaves the middle just barely warm and does not cook the back side at all. It seems that on the "crumpet" setting the outer filaments of the toaster do not light up, so it only toasts the front of the crumpet - the bit with the holes. I almost cried when I had to take it back for a refund as it looked so pretty on my bench.

The toaster was perfect untill it would not stay down. The warranty was gone so I've decided to check what was the problem. When i opened it, the trouble was easy to find ; a little piece of plastic made gets hot when it gets hot and it wont stay down. I thought a toaster at this price would be better made. Its VERY cheap made inside. Why would a 70' toaster last 20 years and now we pay a fortune and it barely can last the warranty limit.

We bought this toaster about a week ago from The Good Guys and will be returning it - it burns the toast, especially the crusts. I wasted six pieces of bread trying to get a couple of decent bits of toast, adjusting the settings each time but it made no difference - the crusts still burned & I had to cut them off. We decided to spend more than we would normally because we wanted a good, reliable toaster and thought KitchenAid was a good brand, but honestly, our $20 K-Mart one does a better job.

Incredibly disappointed in this toaster. Costs a fortune and regardless of what type of bread we use or how thin or thickly sliced, it reliably burns the crusts and leaves the bread completely untoasted. We’ve tried “warming it up” by turning on without toast first, toasting repeatedly at the one setting but no matter what we do, the crusts burn and the bread remains untoasted, so every day our house fills with the smell of burning toast.

If it hadn’t cost so much I would throw it in the bin and by a toaster from the supermarket instead.

The toaster does not toast evenly. For the price and brand one would expect a much better product. Shortly after the year warranty expired one side of the toastser stopped heating and one month after that the lever would not stay down. Not something you would expect from a toaster at this price point.

Called kitchenAid and explained the situation. Waited in the phone for 15minutes before someone responded. They did not offer any way of repairing the unit or explanation as to why this happened. The representative then proceeded to close the line. I went online and found a bunch of reviews stating the same issues with both the product and customer service.

There is not enough gradation between the cooking settings. 2 is undercooked, 3 is burnt.
Even worse with crumpets. It burns the outside edge, but leaves the centre untouched.
I've had a Standmixer for 11 year-end its great, which is why I thought I could trust the brand with a toaster.
Seems Kitchenaid are exploiting their good reputation in mixers, and adding some retro style, but not bothering to invest in the actual function of the toaster. So disappointed.

I hope that Kitchen Aid have fixed these issues as it seems to be a common fault.

The toaster looked great had some good functions, the most important function of a toaster it failed, that is to provide toast that is toasted reasonably evenly on both sides not black and tan. The toaster was given a fair trial, I had it replaced twice, that is 3 toasters with minimal if any improvement. I am bitterly disappointed with Kitchenaid's response I listened to the hold message for too long, a small statement by email, very poor. Myer were brilliant doing everything they could to help.

So I decided to upgrade my trusty sunbeam and unfortunately threw it out because straight out of the box this product under performed. The toaster is completely incapable of even toasting. One side will burn while the other is barely lightly toasted. I wish I could attach photos!

Perhaps more offensive is the ridiculous customer service. Contacted kitchen aid customer service and waited over a week for a response, send back the requested information and 10days (with one weekend) later still no response. Unacceptable.

This toaster is a pain. I only ever have it set on 2 as any higher just burns my toast, but only cooks on one side and leaves the other side soft. It burns the edges of my toast even on 2. I also have a mixer and absolutely love it and thought my money would be well spent. Better off just buying a $30 toaster
