Warranty repair easily and quickly fixed
I bought my camper new about 5 months ago from Perth. The team were awesome throughout the purchasing process. Recently I had an issue with the winch point that needed to be fixed. The Perth team got my camper booked in later that week when it suited me, and got the problem fixed, hassle free. It was also coming up to the caravanning and camping show so it was a busy time for them, but they got it fixed and back to me as good as new.

Over 40 defect and poor workmanship
Before we picked up the camper, mcd was having troubles with the kitchen assembly. Twenty defect identified and reported in the first week of delivery. In first year of ownership it had spent more time at the factory waiting for repairs. Last time in it was extremely poor workmanship, greasy boot makes over the mattress and a couple of stolen parts from the camper. I did make a comment on their website but that was erased and I was removed from the site.

Good product, some average staff
Xtt robson, fantastic camper. Very strong, taken it through mud, river crosss, along the beach, Kim's of corrugated roads and no complaints, no dust, no water. Easy setup and fantastic appliances. Some finishes inside are as expected for an import and let the camper down a little bit for example loose stitching on the couch cushions. And measurements marked in pen on the inside of cupboards, however you have to remember an Australian made equivalent of the camper would be at least 20k more.
Onto the staff, I was initially poached off of Fa...Read more
cebook by a salesperson in another state, once I realised what had occurred and that there were sales people in my own state I had the situation rectified as in my opinion this was a dirty unethical tactic by the first salesperson. However I admit he appeared to work hard for the sale. Following making a deposit I received NO communication unless I initiated it, I found this disappointing and annoying and had to visit the showroom on a number of occasions just to get an answer or some idea of any progress. An email, or phone call every couple of weeks would have been nice. All in all I'd buy again no hesitation.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Very Happy Camper
Hi all, after ordering our camper from show room in Perth in October 2017 I was reading these reviews ( wrong order or doing things, I know ) thinking this may not be a pleasant journey. But happy to say we've had a pleasant one. April and Fernando in Perth have been a pleasure to deal with. They always returned my calls when requesting a delivery date which ended up being 12 weeks instead of the predicted 8. But with them shifting premises and the fact it was coming in from China was not surprised. As for the reviews, I guess its like the old ...Read more
saying. If your happy with a product you'll tell someone. If your unhappy you'll tell everyone. From what i've read most issues seem to be with warranties in the Eastern states. We've traveled around 2000km over the Chrissy break and on some pretty horible roads out the back of Hyden. The cruiser slide towed awesome behind our Parado. With the car full of kids and dog, everthing had to go on the camper. Think it would have been a bit over the 2 tonne limit, but have replaced tow hitch and fitted a break away unit. Will put it over pits soon, should be legal too 2250 Kg with the standard 12 inch breaks that are in it. After a long trip I would feel the temp of the hubs to check the bearings and now we are home i've been right over it and checked all the welds as a lot of driving was on corigated roads. We've put it through its paces and its past with flying colours. All seals held up keeping the dust out. All electrics worked fine, but would recommend adding a DC/DC charger to van to boust charge from vehicle through anderson plug. All in all, we are very happy with our purchase and thought i'd put it up here to show that its not all bad. Again, thanks too the Perth MDC teem. I'm sure you'll continue to shine.Similar opinion? Happy with mine and the service in Perth
I never write reviews but I am writing this because of the bad reviews listed here. I call things as I see them, I do not work for MDC nor am I rewarded in any way for this review. However I do believe people have had a bad experiences.
I did a lot of research for sometime, looking at all caravans and camper trailers available. I settled on the MDC Cruiser Highside forward folding as I wanted to load a boat, the large fridge compartment, the flexibility to take the camper anywhere I wanted to and other features. I have made some minor changes...Read more

Cheap
I've had my MDC for about 5 years. It was the cheapest on the market. But when you buy the cheapest on the market you can't expect a top quality tent and good after sales service. No, emails are not answered. But we still go camping with it and if you work out your own way of erecting it, it is much easier that the instruction.

All kinds of nope
I was in the market for a new soft floor camper, so spent the day driving around perth looking at them. By and far the most memorable was the mdc. Because it stuck out as being so terrible.
You have to buy extra spreader bars, the mattress, pegs... and any other accessories, you get NOTHING. Notwithstanding that, the construction of the tent itself is horrible, the canvas is thin, the poles are weak and rickety, and the tent rises at an angle above your head.
The trailer itself is poorly, made, and no design has gone into it. For instan...Read more
ce to get the tailgate kitchen out you have to UNSCREW two T bolts. No latch, two screws. The sales lady was lovely, she was very helpful and chatty. But the campers are terrible quality. Shocking customer service!
No customer service, since purchasing the camper trailer it has been a nightmare process. They make you pay for the camper in full before picking it up, which I have worked out why, because it prevents you walking away and purchasing a camper trailer from another company that have better customer service.
I was advised that the camper trailer is just waiting on pit inspection and will be ready tomorrow (Friday), drive 80kms one way to pick it up to be told by the manager that the camper trailer is waiting on something else after been told it ...Read more

Do not expect any after-market service
Bought our T-box Elite two years ago and the runners for the drawers have broken. This is normal wear and tear and I was quite happy to replace them. Could not find the same size runners at any of the usual stores (Bunnings etc) or on-line. Phoned MDC, they asked me to measure it and send them pictures which I did. I phoned back a week later, had to tell my story all over again and remind them what I was after. Each time I was told "we'll get on to that straight away and get back to you." Phoned two weeks later and was asked "well have you looked at Bunnings?" Long story short, a month later and no one has come back to me, no one is interested in helping and I can't go buy the same parts anywhere else.

Awesome Service
After reading some not so nice reviews, I wanted to send in a more accurate account of customer service, which I received at MDC Perth. We absolutely love our camper, JFF, we have only encounter a couple of minor issues, (we have been out in it several times), which have been corrected immediately by Fernando. He has delivered wonderful customer service, a wonderful camper, and is always happy to help with any enquiries. I would recommend MDC to all!

Not only is it on video i have a witness that they did more damage to the canvas when trying to force the zip shut. Yet still not accepting blame and all contact cut from that day forward by MDC. Many other issues includeing kitchen falling out . Still have outstandeing items 3 years later that have not been supplied which i paid for. This is just the short of it. do know though is that if you have issues with something fix it because lets be honest 20000 camper you wouldnt have got them all right. Take some ownership on your product stop the generic replies about being overwhelmed and do your job. Dont offer something if you are not going to supply it or fix it . People dont care that you have 20000 products out there they care about where there hard earned money has gone and if you have given them a lemon like many have than work a way to fix dont just talk the talk and be a keyboard warrior. People dont want excuses they want results. If people in your company are not fulfilling there requirements either with fabrication or sales then move them on. Its simple business 101. If someone orders wax converters canvas give it to them and dont pretend your giving them the product they asked for. If the purchase a spreader pole kit give it to them. Stop giving lip service start commiting to what your pamphlets say and offer. Consumer law also states this and trust me if people had the money your company does you would be in court on a regular basis. Imagine if you did supply 20000 campers with great customer service the response MDC would have instead of what they are getting. I also dispise MDC because they have a foot in the door on every forum available and comment on everything even if it isnt the truth. The comments are always helpful and positive but they never post on there the real story and phone conversations had or private messages. I think its great your on forums if you were useing it for improvements but since it is only used to defend claims which i think you also have the right to do but defence needs to have evidence not just variations of the truth.Similar opinion? Value for money and fit for purpose
We have just recently returned from a 4 month trip in our new Cruizer Highside FF V5, our route took us up the west coast, across the top and back home to Perth through the middle, a trip of just over 18,000 kilometres . We traveled on many rough station roads as well as the Cape Leveque road, the GRR, the Buchanan Hwy, Roper Bar to Borroloola including Lorella Springs and back across the Great Central Road .
I can only speak from our experience but from day one the camper has been excellent and the service from the Perth office has been ...Read more

Be wary before buying!!!
Bought a MDC Cape York Silver Edition and had to wait around 12 weeks for it which is normal. Drove around 1600km to pick up camper from Perth Depot. Due to the limited time we had, we picked up the camper and drove straight back. Upon returning home, the issues started and haven't stopped since. First the suspension started to fail on one side and I had to get the coil spring replaced as the camper was leaning around 50-60mm. Then I started noticing the poor workmanship on the camper, the boat rack was not straight, the electrical box was not ...Read more
screwed in properly, the floor had a buckle in it, the pump is too small for the hot water unit, etc. etc. It just seems that things keep breaking on it and I have to keep fixing it as I am not close to the dealership to take the camper back. I paid around $20k for this camper expecting it to be there top of the range camper but I guess I was wrong. Please be very wary before buying one of these and don't even get me started on the customer service, oh wait they don't know what that is...1 comment

Good experience with the company. Buying my second MDC product.
I bought an MDC Gal extreme soft floor camper a few years back and very happy with the product, price and service that I received. When I took delivery of the camper there was a dent in the water tank. The tank wasn't leaking but had a dent which looked like Danae from the forklift. One phone call and I had a new water tank delivered within a couple of days. I used the camper a few times and whilst heading up north three Roos jumped out in front of my car whilst I was travelling at 100kph. Emergency stop and the trailer tracked perfectly behind...Read more
the car as I came to a full stop. I was worried about it jack knifing but no such issue. The camper was easy to set up on my own.. I sold the camper to my cousin a couple of years ago and they use it all the time and love it. I have now just ordered the MDCXT17 HRT. I climbed all over it in the show room and I was very impressed with the quality of the finished product. These vans and camper trailers are made in MDC's factory in China and finished off in their own factories in each State. The owners are Australian and the caravans and campers are subjected to extensive off road testing. The first camper I bought was a bit rough around the edges but this didn't impact on the ability to go off road. A mate also had one of these and towed it across the centre and through the Gulf country without any issues. The new van that I am looking at is outstanding in its finish. They have obviously sorted out their quality control issues. I am so far impressed. Hopefully I will be equally impressed once I take delivery of my new van. I will let you know how it goes.1 comment

I have a Jackson forward fold 2017 and I am wondering what type of bearings I need to purchase as spares
2 answers
Steve Z.Market Direct Campers
Hi Matt, your Jackson should have parallel axles so the inner and outer bearings are the same. The bearing code is 25590 and the cone is 25520. The seal is 55 x 85 x 12mm. Statewide bearings generally keep all these is stock. The castle nut is unique so if you want to keep a couple of them as spares contact MDC on 1300 494494
Happy camping mate.

We have the XT12. The mains on/off power switch snapped off, the red plastic switch. How do we fix this?

Steve Z.Market Direct Campers
It can be replaced if the shaft is broken. The panel will have to be removed to take the switch out and a new one put in.
