Crossjet 2WD

I live in France and recently bought a Crossjet second hand. Its in really good condition and after a clean it looks like new. However, the blades were loose, so I removed them only to find that there was no 'washer' there. The diagram calls it a ring blade assembly but the dealers here have so far been unable to get me a replacement. Can anyone tell me whether an ordinary spring washer will work? Lock washers just can't be found at 22mm here. Any suggestions

Are you talking about the blades attaching to the blade bar? The blades are about 150mm long attach to the blade bar which is about 600mm long. The blades are swing back blades, which means they should swing around the bolt. There is no washer that goes onto the bolt before the nut. The nut is a symonds nut, which has a nylon insert which locks it onto the bolt. When done up tight, the blade will still pivot around the bolt. My crossjet has done 380 hrs of rough heavy mowing. I replaced the first set of blades at 180 hrs. I've just recently turned the second set around to the new edge at 350. Hope this helps.

Also, if you bought new blades, I strongly recommend you buy new bolts and nuts.

Thank you Makk. It all makes sense now, no wonder the dealers could not find the part. My blades are reversible, so the good side is as new. The nuts that I have bought are self locking M16, which is what is recommended. Jazee
