Fuel efficient, safe, luxurious
The mazda 3 is an adorable little hatchback with a very sleek welcoming interior. I'm blown away at how little fuel it uses and the safety features such as radar, abs, and collision detection have saved me alot of trouble more than once (which says something about my driving as well as the cars ability to correct me XD) The gps is pretty bad, but I just use my phone on bluetooth. The sound system is flawless, not so good for bass nuts, but spectacular for any hi fi people who can appreciate a good bose sound system.

1. Shocker issues- Which I raised in last service and the service department said they have order new part to replace it. straight after 5-6 months same issue coming up.
2. False Alarm for seat belt
3. Poor quality of paint work specially when you have the paint protection(after marketing sold)
4. Noisy
Hope that help.

Great car with good fuel economy.
Zippy little car that is affordable and good on fuel. Good amount of technology and features make driving these new Mazdas more pleasurable. the front roof supports are a little large and the bonnet slants down making it difficult to see easily.
Purchased in July 2021.

Mazda 3 SP25 GT Has not Disappointed
I use my Mazda 3 to drive to work. I use my car to drive to work 5 days a week. I drive around greater western Sydney. I drive my car every day. I get this car serviced for the regular 15,000 kms mark. Cost is acceptable. No issues with this car at all. It has lots of smarts to keep me safe on the road.
In regards to ZOOM ZOOM. Put it in sports mode and nothing catches it. Best car I have ever had. I've had Subaru, Holden, Volvo, Toyota, Ford. and my pocket rocket GT is the most reliable. HIGHLY RECOMMEND my Mazda 3 SP25 GT.
Purchased in December 2021 for $31,000.00.

I get to go zoom zoom in my niece's new Mazda
My niece passed her driving test on her first try (at 31YO) after the last lot of driving lessons from me,so now I get to drive her nice new car. The 2018 Mazda 3 does really go zoom zoom - quiet, powerful (even with the 2000cc motor) and modern in feel and design. The 6-speed auto box is magic. I get to drive it short and long distance- it never misses a beat - almost tends to drive itself. Love it!

When is a warning not a warning?
March 2018 Model SP25 Astina randomly displays warnings lights for 1 - 30 minutes while driving. 3 visits for repairs and they couldn't locate any fault (and had never heard of the issue) the first two times. Luckily I have taken pictures each time. Third time they found the problem and replaced the camera. Two days after the 'fix' the same issue happens. They still do not know what is wrong. Now that I am trying to enforced my rights under consumer protection I have been hand balled to Mazda Australia.

Lovely car for couples/ small families
I use my car nearly daily for commuting but also did a long trip from Queensland to Victoria recently. This car is reliable, no dramas and reminds you when there's anything moving behind the car. Following the car tyre pressure guide given, it carried 150kg personal belongings and 2 adults for a four day driving without any issues. The reliability and capacity of the car are quiet exceptional.

Love driving this car!
Bought this Mazda Touring brand new! Great to drive and exceptional fuel economy. We are both retired so only around the area driving so far and so far so good. Love the gadgets inside and the rear reversing camera took a while to get use to but now it's all second nature. Not so sure about easily fitting 5 people, only if they are small or very thin. 4 nice and comfy. Great Boot size. The one problem that I have found from going down from an Xtrail to a small sedan is that I can't see the front and adjusting to turn and to stop. I have scratched to right and left bottom guard a few times.

Great first car
Always feel safe and is a sturdy car. Easy to drive and was the best car to learn in. Has so many great safety aspects and has a lot of room to easily fit 5 people. Lots of room in the boot and is a great size for a first car.

A perfect small car
We bought of Mazda 3 as a replacement for our Diesel Mazda CX7. We were more than happy with the CX7 so what ever was going to replace it was facing a difficult task. The Mazda 3 completed this task with ease. Fuel economy was outstanding, price sharp and comfort excellent. I now know why we buy Mazda’s. Technology was excellent and the heads up display is not a gimmick as some would imagine but a good accessory. Ride is good.

Great drivers cars, Nice and room for a "small car"
I upgraded from a v6 380 (discontinued) to the SP25 Mazda 3. I'm really happy.
Driving feel is excellent, Hold the corners ad the 2.5l engine had a lot of kick. Mod cons are great with auto everything. Flappy paddle gear box is fun for some manual shifting on the windy roads or a for gearing down.
Economy is pretty good, 8L/100km for my normal driving, 10l/100k if I am pushing it or turning on sports mode. Much better than the 15l/100km in my 380.
Only 2 complains:
1. The wife wishes there was a permanent on off switch for the stop/start system, not on that resets when the car is turned off.
2 It is missing Android auto.

Nice mid size car
Sedan mainly used for short commutes and occasional holiday weekends. only serviced twice 1000 and 1000.
The motor is extremely responsive and economical to run, comfortable and driver friendly. Navigation second to none. My car was a sports model that is mid-range priced exceptionally well. Would recommend for a couple seniors or singles, a little small for a growing family.

Great Car But mazda Engineers need to drive one on sydney roads
For the price of the car it is excellant. All of the features of a bmw or merc. The only downside to the car is still ecsessive tyre noise even on smoother roads. Not a deal breaker but for a major automotive company not as good as it should be considering it is trying to get a bigger market share.I dont expect a dead silent car, but a slight droning on smooth roads is not acceptable. Is it the Tyres?

good car
Engine good, suspension good.
Not happy that they use antiquated controls for the airflow such as valve switches, Thought they would have been electronic interface by now.
Radar sensing system, brilliant, reverse camera a good idea, blind spot in the side mirrors excellent.
Have had trouble with the GPS and the Digital radio where it did not initalise corrrectly on startup of car. Eg no radio and no voice interface in the GPS. They have addressed it. Yet must be a weakness from factory in my opinion. It failed after I drove it out of th...Read more

Mid Range Commuter
I bought an SP25 with extras which included a rubber boot for the boot space, aluminium pedals, keyless access and SP25 floor mats. I should have also got the front sensors which I regret. Still less than 30000 kms on mine as I write this.
PROS
Reversing camera is the best thing since swiss cheese.
The sports mode gives you better traction and handles better but is a bit noisier than standard mode.
Keyless access is great as someone tried breaking into my car by sticking a screw driver into the lock.
When the key is not near the car (wit...Read more

Mazda 3 BN
owned a Mazda back in the 80's . Loved it. Now with the opportunity to buy another new car I knew exactly what I wanted. Mazda 3 MAXX. It is like coming home. Perfect in every way. My only wish is that Mazda would introduce capped servicing and services were not schedule every 10K. Surely with today's technology it should be between 15-20k.

white lemon mazda 3 2018 hatchback.
mazda claims this car does 5.7 litres per 100 kms, it is an absolute lie, it does 10. this is disgusting and misleading, particularly for a small car that has this function called i-stop, basically the engine cuts off when the car comes to a complete stop but if we do not press the brake hard enough it does not work. now the contradiction from mazda, a mechanic said: wait until the car has done more kms, this is an old ladies tale, a car will do what has been designed to do, a woman from mazda head office said it is because 5.7 is done in facto...Read more
ry, stupid and ignorant woman. the i-top function is truly not a fuel saving feature because every time it is used a burst of petrol will go through and defeats its purpose, the warranty is [swear word removed], water got into the left front lens of the the headlights, I took photos and took my car to mazda mandurah, the guy quite arrogantly said: not clear enough, wait for rain and drive and take new photos, what a moron.Similar opinion? white lemon mazda 3 2018 hatchback.
I purchased this lemon mazda 3 neo from mazda mandurah the 22 of june 2018. the sticker on the car said that the combine fuel consumption is 5.7 littres per 100 kms this is an absolute lie, the damned thing does between 9 and 10 littres per 100 kms and their excuse is the car is too new, what a lot of rubbish, a car will do what it is supposed to do from day one and I am a careful driver, I am not one of those criminals on the road who drive like maniacs, flooring the accelerator at all times, I take off gently, stop gently and one of my previo...Read more
us cars, a mitisubishi also had a sticker showing 5.7 and that is exactly what it did. this lemon shakes when I started up, no brand new car properly calibrated will do that, I was told by the salesman that if I wanted to I can cancel a feature called istop which stops the engine while waiting at a red light or similar but I can only cancel it for that day or drive, when I restart the car I have to cancel it again, I was misled again and to make matters worse the bloody people from mazda introduced a 5 year warranty a month after I purchased my car, that is so disgusting, so disgraceful, a violation of fair trading. at the very least they should back date that new warranty for people who purchased their car let us say from 6 months ago. I took my car for what they call first complimentary service and they put a dent in the car and chipped the left, back passenger door, that door has only been opened by them as nobody but me seats in my car.Similar opinion? Fuel economy on the Mazda 3 2016 GT series 2.5 ltr

there are more fuel efficient cars on the market, but they are not as structurely sound. This is not necessarily a fact, its just I feel safer in her than my friends similar priced cars ie: Hyundi, Kia,
may be get a zimmer, paint work is thin and warranty claims,,,forget it,take care,
Geraldine, other way around! Mazda makes particularly fuel efficient cars, but other cars are more structurally sound.

What is Mazda 3 like on country roads or gravel roads and corrugation etc? How does it handle it?
1 answer
Sorry, can't help there-only driven on sealed roads. It does handle well even on 'lousy' sealed roads. Also handles well on wet roads, even with the rain coming down heavily.

Re comments on fuel economy - has anyone trialled 95 or 98 octane? Results were?
1 answer
Higher octane fuel will improve performance and economy at higher cost. I use the higher octane fuel at higher altitudes or when doing longer distance driving. Mostly depends on your driving style- harsh efforts will cost more. I will not use E10 it is a blatant con. Years ago LPG was a bargain - now I would not use it.
