Fuel consumption

published

Up to 21.6L/100km around town. Most I've had for 70L of fuel is 480km which was Sydney Goulburn return trip driving sensibly yo try and maximise economy Very disappointed. Been battling with Mazda since for 14 months. Sometimes as low as 330km for tank of fuel. Not good when I'm trying to run my business. Also big problem with radio reception both FM and DAB. Wish I hadn't bought it now.

Fuel consumption not good

published

Sold my old F250 which had the 6T/Diesel in her. Used 11/100 around town and 12.5 towing "real " loads.
This thing uses 14-15 around town with me driving like an old woman with just me in it.
Recently got down to 11.7/100 freeway.

20,000km in and going well

published

Almost went with another ute however pleasantly surprised with the smooth ride. Fuel consumption not great however it's not a small hatchback. Has power when needed and taken off-road a few times and performed well.

Mazda Bt50... Bloody brilliant..

published

I bought a new 2018 xtr with all of the towing options to tow a 3 tonne caravan and the family around Australia for 12 months...

It was perfect... Amazing... And didn't miss a beat. All laden with 6 tonne it still pulled like a freight train. We even went off road and pulled the van through severe bulldust that was so deep I couldn't have walked through it... The bt just kept pushing through with half throttle. We were aMazed at how good it was.

We only bought the bt initially as it was 15 grand less than the Ford ranger but it was worth it...

Just sold the bt after 30 000km and only made a small loss..

I recommend the bt50 to everyone I meet who needs a tough ute and towing power.

Manual gearbox failed at 60k and the best Mazda can do is leave me for 3 weeks before any suitable repair can be made under warranty - absolute no chance of making the Mazda mistake again

Take off slow

published

Hi
Well i love the BT50 very much.
It does have a downfall though, if you stick your boot into it to over take or just to take of quick you will be disappointed.
This ute goes nowhere, its like it doesnt kick back no power and no action just nothing, very dangerous if moving in front of other vehicles.

Radio Reception issues

published

Have a 2018 Mazda BT50. New. The radio reception is very poor quality.
This may sound like a trivial first world problem but when you spend a lot of money, do a lot of driving and experience a radio that is very poor, it annoys me every time I get in the car.
Mazda has been so poor with their service follow-ups that when I buy a new vehicle next year, probably go back to Toyota. Just sick of it and the poor service.
