Great Product and Service
Like others, my vaporiser worked really well for a bit less than a year, then became too noisy to use. I contacted Medescan and they shipped me out a new base. Thanks Michael! It's a great product and Medescan offer a great service. I highly recommend this product to everyone.

Great for winter
Simple unit, color lighting is a nice touch. Wife had a really bad cough and this helped instantly at night. Bit expensive but hopefully will last a while.
Seems to be able to punch out the water vapor when set. Clean non offensive design, with a decent tank size that lasts the night.

My vapouriser worked really well for a year, it was quiet and effective. After a year it developed an intermittent noise that could wake me up. I contacted Medescan via their web page to see what could be done and received a phone call from a representative the very next day. They shipped me out a new base that same day! I accept that problems happen with appliances, that is life. When a company addresses issues as effectively and easily as Medescan did, that is awesome!

True to their warranty
My humidifier recently started to get noisy. Fortunately it was still under warranty. I called the Customer Service Center and they organised a new base to be sent out to me. My humidifier is now perfectly silent. Top marks for the customer service team and that they stand by their warranty.

Good product, excellent customer service
I use one of these units because I have medications that causes dryness in the eyes and nose, plus having the heater on in winter tends to dry out the air. The Medescan is excellent for these things. I had a little trouble with a whirring noise coming from the unit base so I called the service number often quoted here and they were instantly helpful. They sent me out a new base unit so now it's all good again. I only wish other manufacturers were as responsive to their customers.

Brilliant apart from 1 thing
Great unit. Love how it last so long throughout the night. Great how you can control the flow and pleased the LED is optional. Only gripe with the unit...as the base 'refills' with water during running time it makes a gurgling noise and if you are just about to drift off into LaLa Land and fall asleep, this noise does startle me and wakes me up. However when I'm out cold and pleasantly dreaming I dont hear it which Im grateful for as the unit would be packing its bag if it woke me every time!

Regarding the oil, Medescan Special Blend aroma oil is the only aroma oil that should be added into the water tank. All other aroma oils must be added into the special aroma tray as they will cause damage to the water tank and void warranty. The Rainbow Mist is extremely safe around children and we're very glad to hear that they love it. Love my humidifer. Was very upset when the LED function broke and subsequently the whole system.
Worked wonderfully until it broke. Contacted Medescan as I was within my 2 year warranty and a replacement part is currently on its way to me. Very satisfied with their customer service and promptness to a solution. My kids especially like the LED light function. It serves a dual purpose as a night light.

Great unit
I purchased a unit last year for my baby granddaughter who had a bad cold at the time. My daughter was ecstatic when the first night she used it the baby slept right through. I then bought 3 more, one for grandson, one for me and one for very elderly parents. I have used mine quite a lot recently and absolutely love it, I'm sleeping much better than I have in years. I've put liquid Vicks in the tray and even though the aroma is not all that strong it is working. The unit is virtually soundless and the power indicator doesn't disturb your sleep, don't even notice it. Highly recommend this product

Too hard to clean and can't turn out light
It did work and worked well. But I had to throw mine out because it was impossible to clean. I cleaned it regularly but there are so many tiny areas that you can't get into to clean properly which meant they stayed dirty and built up more dirt. The reason why I won't buy another is even though I put black tape over the 'on' light there was always a glow of light coming from the machine. You couldn't turn the light completely off. Not good for getting a good night's sleep.

I am extremely happy that our Rainbow Mist humidifier worked well as advertised. However, we are saddened to hear that you have discarded your unit without giving us the opportunity to help you. Regarding the cleaning, please follow the directions on page 14 & 15 of the instructions manual. Alternatively, please contact our customer service team during regular business hours on 1300 736 330 and they will be more than happy to guide through best practice of cleaning the Rainbow Mist humidifier. I hope I am correct about which of the lights is bothering you. The night light can be switched off using the LED button on the base as per instructions on page 13 of instructions manual. If the problem is with the indicator light, unfortunately we cannot switch off as it is a legal requirement in many countries to have an indicator light. The consumer must have an indication whether the unit is switched on or not. I like your idea of a dark tape to cover the on/off light. Another simple fix, is to turn the front of the unit with the small LED light away from you. I hope this helps. Excellent humidifier!
All three of our children have breathing issues and helps them sleep easy through the night.
We have a Vicks vaporiser but prefer to use this humidifier as it produces cool steam.
I have it running through the day in the living areas with eucalyptus oil to provide a clean and fresh environment.
The night light is a bonus too!
I have to also add the Customer service is sublime, the base stopped working and without hesitation they sent out a replacement.

Very good product and good customer service.
Good customer service and quality product which you can trust. Heaps better than Vicks. We have been using this product for about 6 months and very happy with this machine performance and effectiveness. Since we bought this my son has better sleep in the night. Few weeks ago the base broke but customer Service team replace me with the brand new base.

Great product & awesome customer service
Husband and I absolutely love this humidifier. It's super quiet and lasts all night. I accidentally threw out the filter plug piece and was disappointed I may not be able to use my humidifier again. I contacted customer support & they immediately sent me a new plug free of charge. :-)

I have this year bought the Rainbow humidifier and happy that I have as its be found that I have Asthma. It certainly helps me breath better. I first saw it at my Pharmacy and they had it working and sitting waiting for my Prescription I found that I was breathing better so I bought it there and then, used it in winter months I guess I will have to use it again when it gets to be time for airconditioner on don"t really now so I will have to read up on it. At this time pleased I have it.

Way better than hippo and vicks, but cool vapour not as good for nasal congestion.
Just bought this to replace my hippo which stopped working. Rainbow mist produces a really good amount of vapour, and that you can adjust how much vapour comes out according to the room size should mean that you won't get a wet room and damaged walls like people have had with other products. right enough to see what you are doing in the dark. I find that it does a better job of releasing the essential oils than my hippo ever did. The only downside I can see is that the cool vapour doesn't seem to do as good of a job as the warm vapour for dealing with nasal congestion. I have used a heater in my sons room to try to get around this. Would recommend this one to friends.1 comment

Great product!
After reading great reviews of the humidifier I decided to buy one. It has been great! Easy to use and is pretty too! I bought some eucalyptus and peppermint oil for it to help my baby who is a bit congested but after the initial oil smell I feel like it doesn't come out anymore. I've put more in the dispenser but still don't smell it. The air still vaporizes though. Not sure if I'm doing anything wrong?

Awesome product
We have a few different brands in our house and this one is the best by far. It is super quiet and I love that you can add your own essential oils in the tray. Having the option of different colours makes it great for my kids too. We've mainly used it during the night with eucalyptus oil and it makes such a big difference to a better nights sleep. I havent had any issues at all and have had it close to a year.

How do you clean inside the plastic water dome if there is mould in it? I’m not sure if it is the problem but it is giving off a funny smell when I use it. I have wiped out the white base. I am worried to use if I cannot clean it properly as it is in my baby’s room.

The unit develops mould if any water is left in the water tanks.
Please note, the whole unit needs to be completely dry prior to storage.
In order to clean the water tank, we suggest you add some water into the water tank, add a teaspoon of white vinegar and swirl it. Please let it soak on mould areas for about 30 minutes. Rinse the water tank thoroughly with fresh water.
