This kettle is all looks no substance
This is a terrible kettle 1. the water doesn't stay hot for long at all so if you don't use it immediately you have to reboil it, 2. the water level is in a stupid spot & 3. it takes some fiddling to put it back on the stand thing
Purchased in March 2021 at Catch.

Colour does not last and leaks
Had the kettle for a few years and the paint started chipping within a few months. The paint also faded in a drip mark pattern, almost as if from hot water dripping down the sides. I thought it was just mine, but my sister has the same kettle, purchased around the same time, but from different stores and she has the same marks.
The kettle will leak every now and then, but particularly when I'm descaling it. I thought the leaking was from overfilling but when I boiled with a descaling solution (per instructions), the liquid had leaked everywhere, and the kettle was empty
Purchased at Harvey Norman.

Leaks all over the place
We received this red kettle as a gift and it in less than three months old it leaks from the bottom of the gauge - we have no receipt so cant return it but it is a design fault which must be common in this kettle - it will have to be thrown away when we can afford to buy another kettle - very disappointed
Purchased in July 2021 at Myer.

Leaky Kettle
I loved this kettle, I especially liked the whistle function but the whistle doesn't work anymore and the kettle leaks which I would think is rather dangerous. Only 18 months old too! This time I will go with another brand, which is a shame as I have the matching toaster as well.

Just not designed to last
We've had to replace this kettle twice (under warranty) as it just starts leaking after a while. I like it while it works however. And the red colour is lovely. I'm going to get a kettle with a temperature setting next time, to save power and time when making green tea.

Whistled twice then no more wft
I only heard the great whistle twice BOOOOOOOOO I can only hope I've touched a button or something. Any ideas on how I can fix it? Or possibly get a new one as I brought it online. I hope this is a good brand or next time I'm going for a cheap model

Leaks like a sieve!
Have had the kettle for about six months and today wated started leaking from the level indicator. Rather dangerous when dealing with electricity. Rather poor construction from an, until now, respected brand, Now in the bin and I will not buy another of their products, if this is an example of their manufacturing quality.

Rubbish kettle just leaks.. caused smoke alarm to activate
Leaks at bottom
Nearly caused a fire
6 months old before leaks started
Purchased for over $100 it should last more then that.. considering a $20 probably would do better

Great Kettle with some drawbacks
Exceptional looking kettle, works great. Very stylish addition to my kitchen. The kids love the whistle which sounds like a World War Two bomb dropping on London.
Unfortunately the bright red metallic colour appears to fade after extended use, it could just be where the kettle is placed(near the stovetop)
As my bright red metallic toaster has not faded at all. But the water still boils and the bombs keep dropping. Lol

Paint came peeled and very loud
Love the look of these kettles but very dispointed when after a year the paint peeled off! It was also incredibly noisy.
I would buy morphy Richards again. When I called to advise of the paint peel customer services was not helpful and told me they could give me another one at a discounted rate but I would need to pay postage, worked out the same as buying brand new!

Mixed feelings
I really like the look of my MR kettle, but it spatters if you pour too soon after boiling, and the really irritating thing is that the water level doesn't show up while you're filling it. It only shows after setting it back on the bench. That's a real design fault, in my mind, since you have to guess whether you've put enough water in it while it's filling. I've never bought such an expensive kettle before. My cheaper kettles weren't as stylish, but they didn't spatter, and their water levels showed while filling.

Love the kettle but leaks and paintwork ages too quickly
This is my second of these kettles. I love them because the remind me of the classic Alessi kettle. The first one was replaced by my Sister in Law (so no receipt) who melted it by putting it on the gas hob!!! It was about 2 years old and had become a bit tired looking with the paintwork coming off. The replacement one is about 18 months old and is too very tired and shabby looking - the water level ball gets jammed and the paint is falling off. The main reason for replacing though is that it has started leaking from under the 'on' switch. Every...Read more
time I pick it up there is a puddle on the base unit. I am careful not to overfill it and am concerned for safety at this stage. I would like to replace it with a similar design but don't think I can justify replacing it every 18 months to 2 years at such a high cost. I see that Morphy Richards Customer Care are participating in this. I would love some feedback.1 comment

rrent product within this time frame, you are certainly able to return the current unit to your place of purchase in order to receive a new one under warranty.. Leaking from the sealed system is also a concern and this should be addressed as soon as possible. It may be worth checking the inside of your kettle before returning the unit, just to make sure that there is no build up of limescale (evidenced by brown/ rust stain marking the stainless steel) as this can be a precursor to leaking. If you do see evidence of same, let us know and we can send you out a sample descaling product to use in your replacement unit to prevent this reoccurring. If you have any further concerns regarding your appliance, please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Care team by phone: 1300 556 816.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Beware scratches easily!
I got the red colour accents kettle and toasted set a month ago. The colour is already scratched on the kettle! I'm v careful with it as the last one I had had similar problems! Should have known better. Waste of money!
Pity as it's a nice set! Wish I bought something else.

Terrible design and not worth the price tag
Was initially quite excited when we first bought the kettle but later on realised that this was probably one of the worst kettles I've every owned in my life. Terrible pull up design for refilling water and not to mention that when you try to refill it after you have used it if you need more water, you burn yourself every time due to its poor design. Steer clear

Not worth the price
It certainly looks the part and is frequently commented on but is now 4 years old and falling apart and for the price of it I really expected a longer life than this. The water level ball got stuck in the first few months of use but it wasn't really too important and the paint was surprisingly easy to scratch off with minor bumps. I have treated it pretty carefully since new and only wiped it with a damp cloth and it gets used less than everyday so I'm surprised that the paint is peeling off around the water level gauge so easily and the gaug...Read more
e itself it discoloured and looks really tatty. It may be leaking now as well as others have commented as there is water on the base sometimes but is so far inconsistent. Overall it was ok functionally and looks great but the quality is not worth the price asked.1 comment

Nothing better than the cheapest kettle on the market
Funny when I read all the reviews about paint peeling and leakage. Bought the toaster and kettle combo for my parents only to receive painting and leakage problems. Raised my concerns 18months into usage. No help and needed all sorts of documents. Don't have time, don't want anything from Morphy Richards ever.

Replaced but still paint peeling problem
Must say Dimplex are more than happy to keep replacing our kettle however after this one is still not any better than the original one, it is pointless to accept their offer. As we are country dwellers it is a major operation in sending and then waiting for their investigation of the complaint, before receiving the new product. Takes two to three weeks. Great looking kettle but do suggest looking at other options when buying a kettle.

Bad buy
I have had my kettle just over two years however on the first year the paint started chipping off. In addition after kettle has boiled it spurts boiling water when you start to pour, quite dangerous. Would not recommend product as it is not value for money. Very disappointed especially as bought other items to match.
