Great Budget Phone

published

This is my third Moto G series phone and it is a great phone. Build quality is good and very easy to use. I love the ability to use fingerprint to unlock the phone rather than enter passcode every time. Battery lasts a full day, when it falls below a certain threshold it goes into low power mode so it can last further. Memory can be expanded using SD cards. Phone is also dual SIM, so if you are a regular overseas traveler it is great feature! Overall I'm happy with the purchase.

Great Phone!!!

published

This phone is close to a Flagship phone. One thing that is different between the G5 plus and a flagship is the camera (since motorola had to compromise at something). But for the price that this phone is sold it is a steal. One thing that does stand out is the battery life. So if you are on the run and don't have a charger this is your phone. Overall, it is a great phone with an average camera.

Great bang for buck

A great value for money phone. Looks and feels like a flagship phone. Dual Sim + microSD slot, fingerprint scanner and NFC are a few of its features. The camera isn't bad, but it's enough to capture some decent shots with good lighting. If ou're after a budget phone, I'd highly recommend this one.

Excellent mid-range smart phone

published

"Goldilocks size" (not too big, not too small) smart phone with user-friendly interface. 5.2 inch colourful and bright LCD screen with front and rear cameras, micro sd card slot for extra storage and Android 7 operating system. I bought this phone as an update for my 4 year old Samsung Note and, although screen size is a little smaller, I found the o/s simpler to use. Highly recommended.

Great for the price

This phone is amazing for the price tag. I always wanted an iphone but just could not afford it so I decided to go with this phone. I must say that I am not in love with the look of the phone but the features definitely make up for the way it looks.

Best mobile under $400

published

Purchased one for my business because of the dual sim capacity - excellent way to keep track of business and personal calls, texts, etc. The screen is a perfect size for quick emails on the fly. Motorola don't fill their phones with too many of their own apps. Have bought a second one for the wife and my sister has also bought one.

Awesome phone for its price

published

I was using an lg g6, and when I had to get another sim for work, I thought I had to compromise by using this phone for its dual sim feature. Turns out I love this phone and its as good as any other flagship device on the market. Never signing a phone contract again, outright all the way!

Great versatile phone

published

Not the most powerful phone around, but for the price is performs extremely well...mainly due to the near stock android experience.

For the price, you are able to get more powerful chinese android phone, but for the average novice user, that can be extremely confusing to operate. The Moto G5, on the other hand, is tailored for the Australian market, which makes it very easy for anyone to use.

A nice budget daily driver

A good phone for anyone looking for basic use. It is cheap and has everything that a basic user would want. It is not extraordinary but is worth the price. Has an ok camera and android os too. I bought this for my grandmother and she still uses it and likes it. Would recommend.

Motorola g5

For what you pay for this is hands down the best value for money phone.

Lots of pros it is fast not many Moto apps which means the phone doesn't slow down.

Camera is okay nothing to rave about.

Battery life exceeds most phones that are way higher in price.

Good screen but sometimes can be trouble in sunlight and hard to see

Best phone I've owned

published

Previously I have owned a iPhone 3gx and a galaxy s4. I would say from my experience this phone is much better then both.

Sort of anoying how often it needs updates but that's also a good thing. I haven't had a single issue or short coming in this phone so far, even the camera is great :)

Pretty satisfied

published

The phone was really easy to use and was very efficient. I really like the tools and settings on the phone. I was pretty attached to it after about a month of using it. Unfortunately, the calling and receiving function broke down as I could not hear what the person on the other side of the line was saying.

Moto G5 Plus is fully featured and fast for half the money

published

Clear phone calls on every network's 4G band, speedy octacore processor, fingerprint wake-up, cameras as good as $600 competition, NFC for scanning Opal cards, and seamless Android 7 memory integration with a 128 GB MicroSD card, giving you a 135 GB phone package for around $400 including a tempered glass screen protector and flip case bought online. There is simply no competition under $500 for the Moto G5 Plus. If you don't need 100GB of space, get the 32GB model and do without the storage card, for a small saving overall. Just a great phone at a cheap outright price.

A good phone at a reasonable price

published

A very good reliable phone 99% of the time. Its actual size makes it very easy to hold and running Android 7 making sure it has an easy user friendly OS. Setup a breeze and as an added bonus has a dual Sim card setup. I've had a few apps randomly close ex: Pokemon go and Wish apps but I'm LEED to believe it is dodgy coding on the developers part not the phone.

One thing I believe is an issue the response time for the finger print reader to lock unlock phone. It sometimes don't read properly.

Overall a good phone for a 4G phone for what it is and will get the job done with ease sporting it's 2ghz octacore processor and 3gb ram.

As my old IPhone was on the blink, started looking around for a replacement. Came across some great reviews so took the plunge. It certainly does not disappoint, especially for the money. Relatively easy to navigate around its features, the calls are clear, the photos are great. Has some nifty tricks such as the light by shaking the phone...very handy when in a hurry. Would highly recommend

I've just submitted my review of the Moto G5 Plus and wondering if anyone has Bluetooth issues with their phone?? I seem to have to unlock the screen on my phone in order for my phone to connect to either my car's Bluetooth or my Smartwatch. If so it kind of defeats the purpose of having a smartwatch connected to your phone.

I've not had any such Bluetooth connectivity issues. My phone and car are always connected via Bluetooth. The only issue I ever have is music not automatically playing, but that seems to be an issue with the music player app, as calls work just fine. You've also mentioned that Bluetooth breaks up now and then, and I've had this too, when using 2.4Ghz WiFi at the same time. Bluetooth & WiFi share 2.4Ghz, and do interfere with one another. Since switching to 5Ghz WiFi, there's been no issues.

yes I purchased the XT1805 moto g 5 plus from Kogan and am having bluetooth issues. I cant seem to answer the phone normally and have to put it on speaker. I have another moto g 5 plus model XT1585 that works perfectly. I am wondering if the kogan stock was grey import?

Has anyone had any issues with ghosting on the g5 plus, ive got this very issue on my g4 plus, good phone, but it's driving me crazy, hoping they have it sorted on the g5 plus. Thanks

Do you mean the phone screen thinks you touched it when you actually didn't? I don't have that problem on my G5 Plus.
