Multiple issues as a stain remover

published

I bought this just to try it out. It seems to work better when fabrics are soaked overnight but otherwise I can't tell the difference when used in-wash. Plus it creates a lot of unnecessary foaming. The bottle design is terrible as the gel is sticky and spills everywhere when trying to pour it, so you lose a lot of the product just trying to measure out the liquid. As the most expensive stain remover on the shelf, I wouldn't buy it again.

Purchased in February 2021 at Coles for $20.00.

Amazing Product

published

My 4 yr old poured green and red food colouring on the my lounge. My lounge is made from linen. Luckily I took all the covers off, and soaked them in vanish oxi action for ten minutes. Then placed them in my front loader and added some more to the wash. When the washing machine finished, I took the covers out and they were perfect. Removed all the food colouring and other stains as well. I was amazed.

DO NOT BUY AS IT CAUSES YELLOW STAINS

published

I used the spray on a small patch of red capsicum juice on a white %100 cotton shirt. The capsicum mark disappeared but the spray left a horrible yellow patch which I have not been able to remove despite lots of attempts. It has ruined a $100 shirt and I am extremely annoyed.

Horrible

I had a food stain on my brand new denim pants so I put vanish spray stain remover straight away and left for 5 mins as per instructions on the bottle. After 5 mins when I washed my pants it has discoloured the area to white and my brand new pants are ruined

Don't believe the ads on TV

published

I concur with a lot of the reviews on this site. Don't believe the ads shown on TV. In fact, I believe the ads are misleading and should be pulled off air. Tried doing a soak in cold wash - didn't remove the stains. Tried doing a soak in warm water - didn't remove the stains. Save your money - don't bother with this product.

Clothes ruined

published

Not having used this product before, I put the recommended dose of 1 capful in my front loader washing machine for a wash of everyday clothes including children's clothes and underwear. When the washing was finished and I took the clothes out I found one of my bras had fallen apart as if the stitching had disintegrated, the stitching on a child's romper suit had changed from white to grey and the colour of a number of other clothes had changed or faded. When I referred this result back to the manufacturer I was told that I had used the product on the wrong type of fabric which i don't accept. I believe the product is too harsh and the number of other bad reviews confirm that it is a really bad product.

total failure

published

I found ordinary washing power more effective than Vanish. I tried soaking white cotton sheets in it to get them whiter, no change. I tried it directly on poster water based paint on trousers, just like they do in the advertisement. the poster paint barely faded and I ended up with a white patch on the beige trousers. I tried it on soiled sport soxes, also no improvement. White king bleach is cheaper and gives me result every time.

Good but really bad packaging

published

I will give it a 5 when they decide to think about the correct packaging. These heavy plastics have to go and do not belong in this day anymore. I do like the product it does work, but I won't buy it with this kind of packaging. It is just one use throw away and manufacturers need to take responsiblilty

Nice sale gimmick

The Napisan Vanish Oxi Action stain remover hardly removes stain as it is shown on TV. Only if the manufacturer Reckit spent some money in researching the right product. I have tried on organic stain and it does not work.

If you use sunscreen with oxybenzones, don't use this

published

Swap to a zinc based sunscreen as oxyaction actually creates yellow stains from oxybenzone based sunscreens. What you now have is a rust stain, so you'll need to use lemon juice to remove.

Napisan Oxi Action

We use the product Vanish Napisan. I am still an active 73 year old but have arthritis in my hands. Unfortunately, I struggle with screwing the lid on and off. It stretches my hands and fingers to the limit and they ache afterwards. Are you able to suggest another of your products before I look for something else?
SUGGESTION: Look at your product designs. Thank you Jan

When you buy it could you decant it into smaller/easy to open containers or even empty jam jars?

Crystal white has left heaps of black spots on my expensive white cotton sheets. This has not occurred in previous washes without crystal white. How do I remove these spots? And why did this happen?
