I wish to cook Beef Stroganoff in my Thermochef....I am new at this...I have a recipe from a friend's ThermoMIX book which says to cook it for 20 mins at 100C at REVERSE + SPEED SOFT. Does anyone know if the Thermochef has an alternative funcion. Appreciate comments. Thanks Judi
Oops, I meant 'FUNCTION.' I believe you must use the butterfly, but at what speed please
I always use slightly lower temp than tmx recipes as my tc seems to brown on the bottom if it's too hot, so I would put it on 90 degrees for 20 mins speed 1 and then check. It may need another five mins.
I have just bought a thermochef nw100 on an impulse buy which I am waiting delivery. I've always wanted a thermomix but couldn't justify price especially that I hate cooking but unfortunately the family insists on being fed regularly. Reading reviews on the thermochef does anyone know if the new nw100 has addressed and improved the issues that people are disappointed with like the burning of food and butterflies coming off?
I've been really happy with mine :) Haven't had any problems with the butterfly attachment. As long as it's click over the blades properly it doesn't come off. Haven't had anything burnt yet! When coo...
Read moreking with milk/creamy (custard/mash) etc there has been a little build up but nothing I haven't been able to wash out (really no different issues than the thermo).i need a new mixing paddle. how do i purchase one?
Sorry, no idea. I have given the whole thing away to a friend of a friend as I could not get anything useful from it.
I'm just wondering, I've used my thermochef twice then the drive shaft? Needed replacing. Fantastic customer service it was collected and returned to me in a week. Although it wasn't explained to me what causes this to happen? I want to avoid it happening again and seeing as I'm new to this machine id hate to think I was doing something wrong.
Can I ask what you used it for those 2 times before the drive shaft went? Just out of curiosity more than anything . It might just be an annoying fluke so-to-speak, but then it may not.
Mine broken too after 1 and half years. The shaft is so thin it just snapped, it looks like a design issue to me. I'm still waiting for NW to call me back.
Has anyone crushed ice to make sorbet with this appliance?
I recently bought a TC online. Is there anywhere in Melbourne I can go to see a demonstration on how to use it correctly?
Has anyone been using this machine A LOT, like multiple times daily for many months (or years)? I am concerned about the comments relating to burnt jugs and butterfly issues. I have previously had a terrible experience with a New Wave appliance bought new online that failed within months, New Wave said too bad.
Yes, there have been a spate of burnt jubd which New Wave have just exchanged under the warranty. Most people find that when using a thermomix recipe on a thermochef they need to reduce the temperatu...
Read morere by 10 degrees and extend the cooking time slightly. I use my TC almost everyday and when I do quite a few times a day. I haven't had any problems except again, when making bread, it's best to use a slower speed to mix ingredients before you use the knead function - but the thermomix and thermochef recipes do not state this. Some people have ruined their butterflies but only because they have not attached them correctly and there is a video you can watch to show you how to attach it properly. Some people like myself hardly use the butterfly's anyway, we find they are not needed unless you are making a meringue. For meat dishes you can just cut the meat into larger chunks and reduce the speed instead og using a butterfly. Hope this helps.Does this machine mill flour from grains and does it mill the different sugar types from raw sugar like the thermomix does?
Yes, you can mill flour from grains and mill sugar to more refined sugars such as icing sugar etc.
Can anyone please tell me were I can buy a thermchef, have rang The Good Guys, Retravision, Harvey Norman. Thanks in advance.
Does it juice well?
People do use it to juice. You might want to join the facebook pages for Thermo Chef - The Thermo Chef Experience and Thermochef Recipes to learn more.
Is there a step by step recipe available for Chilli con carne? For the Thermochef
Thermomix recipes can easily adapt to thermochef, instead of reverse function insert butterfly bar. Google thermomix chilli con carne - http://catecancook.blogspot.com.au/2011/09/thermomix-chilli-con-carne.html
Is there anywhere in perth where I can go and view a demonstration?
Hi there,
I'm sorry I can't help you with that as I live in NSW and I bought mine online. Maybe if you contact the thermochef help centre they could advise you.
