I have a 2002 Nissan xtrail It has blown the Head gasket. I have spent a lot of money of late repairing the suspension, new tyres brakes and rotars front and back. I have also had the motor reconditioned once before. Do I get the head gasket repaired or do I get a motor from the wreckers for around $900 to install will cost me approximately $1600

get a service & the engine light will go out. The cars computer is telling you hey theres something wrong take me for service & get me checked out. X trails Needs to be serviced every 10 thousand kilometers leave it too long after that & the engine light comes on, ignore the engine light then it goes into limp mode & makes you get it serviced

My nissan xtrail 2006 had a static rpm and it reaches 1600. Had applied the relearn procedure, it works. the rpm is now 800 but occasionally becomes static, down to 200 and in some occasion the engine dies. I have the throttle cleaned and again applied the relearn. Still, the same problem is experienced. When the the car is in park and neutral position, the rpm is 800; when it's in drive and reverse position, the rpm is 600, and occasionally went down to 200rpm and in some instance the engine shuts off. What diagnostic procedure should I perform...Need your help!!!! NOEL

Fair enough - Lets say a 2005ST T30 II, I'm looking at it second hand with 170,000kms on the clock
Our first '05 ST lasted to 250,000 Km's with no significant issues. Replaced perished rocker gasket at 240,000 Km's, the shocks were completely spent, we'd changed all 4 wheel bearings by this time, and right at the end there we noticed a slight crack in the transfer case. I would be paying attention to these areas of interest. Of course, buying something with a solid service history at this age is a must, also consider if the vehicle has been used to tow a van, and if in doubt, get it checked out by a trusted mechanic.

Have a nissan xtrail 2006 automatic. My engine is working fine especially during long drives. However, everytime I experience traffic/full stop on the road, the engine stops. What I do is I restart the engine immediately. It works fine again. My car doesn’t want traffic/full stop. What seem to be the problem? Is it the fuel pump? Computer box? Please help me..

it could be a number of things. Take it to a mechanic & get it checked asking here wont give you correct answer
Does a cheak engine light come on then goes off again when restarted sometimes it don't but replace the crankshaft sensor is commen problem and happened to me most well change the camshaft sensor also can get them together in packs
Holy crap I have the same car, same year, same transmission and the EXACT same thing has happened to me multiple times most recently resulted in an accident! This is crazy
