Good
We are the proud owners of a 2008 Nissen X-trail 2.5L pet auto Waggon and after nearly 3 months and 2000 km are very pleased with it's performance. We (my wife and I) are very disappointed however that Nissan has decided to use CONCAVE SIDE MIRRORS on its new vehical and after a few near misses consider them dangerous additions to the car. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to express our opinion .
very pleased with performance

We got the car only for a month and are very happy with our purchase. We are very please with the CVT smoothness and its fuel consumption. Always admires its' handsome looking. I've read the rewiew of an earlier owner about not happy with the clock not being in the central so passengers can see it as well. I've noticed my car also have the clock display on the CD display LED window as well as the one on the round orange cluster, hope this help.
As our first baby will arrive soon so we need a bigger than our current car. Our main considerations a...Read more
re boot space for baby pram, reliable, fuel economy and safety features (we later learnt that xtrail is one of the only two vehicles in the world that earned maximum rating for child protection). We had driven nearly every compact SUVs in the market and decided to buy the X-trail.We like the look of the new 31 xtrail. Look much better than the Rav4,Forrester,CR-V or Outlander in our opinion.CVT tranmission is excellent (better than any conventional 4-5 speeds auto) which give excellent to fuel economy. Quality cabin material built. Huge boot space, even great when rear seats are fold down flat.Lots of storages, biggest sunroof I have ever seen.Handling is also good for her size, excellent suspension set up and very very quiet compare to other compact SUV wagons, may be the quietest I dare to say. We got the Ti model (top of the range) and it doesn't have built in GPS or neither bluetooth. The stereo is also a disappointed since it has no i-pod connection, there is no audio controls on steering wheel (this is not acceptable for a $42000 car) Orange cluster look cheap, digital indicator for fuel and temperature gauges, I prefer analouge ones which look lot better. Headlights could have been better.Accessorries options are very expensive,I got a quote of $650 for a cargo blind, and $750 for bluetooth. I know Nissan make good reliable vechicles but they have to keep up with technogies too.Anyway, these little negative things doesn't affect the over all quality of the car but they can be a swing for customers when choosing a car. My brother bought the RAV4 cruiser L over the Xtrail because it have built in GPS,bluetooth, audio control on steering wheel.

Having had a few SUV’s in my life I was pleased with the X-Trail, the CVT transmission took some getting used to, the ST model was a little basic but better equipped than the base model RAV with a good quality feel, and handled well off road, even though the tyres were a little like ‘cheese wire’ yes very skinny standard sized tyres, so no sand driving in this soft roader! I was horrified with the service cost of the X-Trail and longed to have my Toyota RAV4 back which was a fraction of the service cost and handled better off road too. In a nutshell I feel the X-Trail is good, but far better priced completion such as the RAV4 and Hyundai ix35 and Mitsubishi Outlander
Quality feel
Expensive servicing

Find out how Nissan X-Trail T31 compares to other Midsize / Medium SUVs
Know better, choose better.
Excellent
Woderful to drive, great for a family to get away in, plenty of room and it doesnt cost the earth to buy.
The new T31 X-Trail far outways the old T30 Model. Moving the dash back to the conventional position is a big plus but also the features that come standard with the ST model which is the base model is great. Having the rear seats fold down level with the rear cargo area is great for transporting larger items when needed. There is plenty of grunt under your foot for those steep hills. Corners quite well for its class.I have gotten 8.6L/1...Read more

We've done around 17,000km in this car and we are not impressed. We purchased the most expensive model available (TL – top diesel model) and from about 10,000km it went back to the dealer several times (all up 10 full days), during which time we drove around in a base model Tiida (just what you’d expect to drive when you pay $42k for a car which then breaks!). The EGR valve was faulty, but it took resetting the computer a couple of times as well as cleaning of the valve before Nissan decided it was time to replace the part. Have not had a probl...Read more
em since then, but we anticipate the problem will happen again. The rear bumper has been redesigned for aesthetic purposes and sits down quite a bit lower than the underside of the car. Therefore, it acts as a sand scoop and broke on either side when driving on the beach. The chrome on the boot handle is bubbling. The local dealer was supposed to replace this when we last had it with them for the valve replacement, yet they did not. I have since spoken with them a few times and they tell me they will call me and pick the car up and drop it off for me. This is yet to happen, and it’s been a couple of months. The interior is quite plastic and scratches easily. On the plus side, the fuel economy is quite good. It took quite a bit of time before this happened as the motor had to ‘bed in’, but it has finally happened and we get around the advertised rate of 7.4L/100km. In summary, I wish we’d never bought this car as we both hate it with a passion. We’d love our 2004 Corolla back – it didn’t miss a beat. The size of the boot. The stereo is also quite good. Ugly, air conditioning not up to task, lack of adjustment available to front passenger seat, very plastic, rear bumper acts as a sand scoop when driving on beach (and, thus breaks), Nissan service is substandard, warranty issue took too long to fix, still not fixed 100%Similar opinion? As I said in the pros part. I'd give the looks of this car a 4 out of 5 and I'd recomend that if you want a car with good mileage and a CD player to get this car. And I said that the Gas and brake pedals get stuck alot. Well, Happy buying
X-Trail Ti: It has seven very well designed seats that were totally made for comfort. The steering wheel turns very well. the stereo in it is like a boom box it's like you're really there when you're listening to music. and it's looks are amazing I'd give the looks probably at least a 4 out of 5 and what I lik...Read more

Hi I'm thinking of changing my headlights on my 08 xtrail and was just curious if there was any wire difference between the xenon and non xenon or if it's just the case of swapping them and the xenon will work fully thanks

No lights illuminate when 4wd dial turned to auto or lock. 4wd doesn't engage. Is this likely to be a fuse? If so, where is it located? Cheers

Check your manual mate first up. Second have a look on line where it is for your model. To be honest im a bit perplexed that whilst you are capable of doing a search for the issue and ask here that you have to ask here as the answers for your question as to where the fuses are, are all over the net. Lazy times 1000 bud.
i just did a simple google search &found the answer

Hi, we are looking at a 2012 XTrail series 5 and we like what we see so far but has anyone tried to get 3 child seats along the back. Do they fit without issues? Thanks!
