Hi Lindsay, I believe one of these charges may be the pre-authorisation hold. A pre-authorisation hold is placed based on the fare estimate when a ride is booked. Then once the ride is completed the actual fare is charged and the pre-authorisation hold is released. Depending on your bank it can take 2-3 days to disappear from your transactions list. Please provide the CRN (Customer Reference Number) from the 'Your Rides' section of the app? This will allow us to identify your account and confirm this for you. Thanks for your patience.

It is a pathetic service. I took Ola from the airport and the fare of $58 has been deducted from my card . However i got more deduction of $76 and the transaction says Temp hold which i understand is a temporarily hold one but my question is if you have already charged me then what is the point of holding a bigger amount than the fare?

This thing is crazy !!

Hi Cheryl, the temporary authorisation hold is based on the fare estimate and held at the time of booking. This amount is released on Ola's end as soon as the ride is complete - when the actual fare is charged. However, depending on your bank it can take a few days for the temporary hold to be removed. The $76 should be released shortly. Please provide your registered email address with Ola or the CRN (Customer Reference Number) from the 'Your Rides' section of the Ola app if you would like me to check on this fare. Dear Ola members,

I am not aware what these driver apps are capable for?

Are they recording video or sound of the ride?

I would like to have opinion about my hectic ola rides. I got the worst experience ever with a racist, rude, lunetic man driving BMW, name is Neil Cowin.

I have experienced racism before, but I've never kicked out from the car in heavy rain and flood area water till my ankles, and the reason was I can scratch the expensive car with my hand bag zip.

1 hour later another try and boom, same guy with middle finger and moves on, it's still raining and price for waiting for nothing.

I could only record kicking me out part, but I would like to go to police for the hectic words before.

Why is it that with your service, the driver always parks on opposite side of road to collect passengers? It seems the customer always needs to make an effort to get in the car. At times, the driver makes a you turn to go on the side you were on anyway. I find with cab services, the stop in front of you!

Hi Swappna, please ensure your pin in app is dropped on the right side of the road and that you are waiting in a pickup area where it is safe for the driver to stop. In the event the driver is still on the wrong side of the road I would suggest to attempt to wave over to the driver or to use the in app function to call them and request they meet you in your established pick up area across the road. Please don't hesitate to contact us if any drivers refuse to do so and we will implement corrective measures. Thanks for your patience.

THANK YOU! I didn’t realise I had such power to insist for them to come to me! Will use it in the future... especially when I said I don’t want to walk in the rain to the other side...
This has happened 4 times now. I do stand in a car space so that the driver can pull in.
Please send a message to your drivers to show courtesy to passengers and collect them from the spot or pin they are waiting.
I will report them to you next time.

Always overcharged. Booked a ride with estimated cost of 23 but ended up 36! This is customer violation and totally unacceptable. Would have used uber if the price is that high.

Hi Anthony,

Without knowing the exact details of the offence, I can't give a definite answer.

If it is just a general negligence charge then yes that would be acceptable. However, there are more serious levels of Negligent driving offences where people are killed or seriously injured that would not be acceptable.

The best way for an accurate answer would be from an up to date traffic record.

Add says 50% off for new customers for first 2 week. But fine print says up to $10 per ride. Is this true?

Hi Doris, Yes the 50% off promotion terms and conditions have a $10 discount maximum per ride. So 50% off on all rides that total up to $20. It is valid for all passenger's rides for the first 2 weeks. :)

I drove for Ola and did a 44 min trip on Friday 30 th August 2022. Got paid $15 dollars. Complained. Got pain no toll but another $44 dollars. Total $59.90. I have had very bad experiences with Ola. In 1 week they took an amount of $50, $45 x 2, $46.51 and $1.51 plus the cost of the cabfare. they held onto it for over a week. I have since deleted their app and will not use again.

Used Ola for first time and it got my pick address totally wrong-used a randomn address! so had to cancel it and start again . Now it seems I’ve been charged a $10 fee. I’ve used Uber for a long time and never had that problem!

Dont bother. They're based in India, and will respond you with promising replies. But nothing ever get done. If this is related to money dispute, get your bank involve to reverse the money. I've been through all these dramas and now finding as many ola reviews and facebook page to tell people to stop using Ola.
