A total of 4 faults across 2 new ovens, all the same fault. This is one dodgy product **UPDATE**
This oven, model OO654X has had a fault with the heating element, the 4th fault with this model. This is the second oven we purchased from.Omega, same model in the space of 1 year. Both have had same faults. Customer service said it's out of warranty, a service call out fee of $179 to repair it. This is unacceptable. An expectation of the service of an oven is at least 7-10 years
I don't know anybody replacing an oven every two years.
Considering that this is the second oven with the 2nd fault (or a total of 4 faults across 2 ovens) surely th...

The 16yo Westinghouse oven in our rental property was starting to have issues with the thermostat, and due to the matching cooktop spectacularly destroying an element the owners (after several months of delay) were informed by our property manager that this was a problem they needed to address. They wished to spend as little as possible and we ended up with this contraption.
Initial opinions were favourable. It was not only a convective oven but also had a fan grill option. Reached temperature quickly, quiet and despite the small cavity (my ir...
Read moreon skillets don't fit in this oven with the door closed as in the Westinghouse) perfectly suitable. Until one day I came home from work and my wife said "I think there's something wrong with the oven" Three months in and the first failure. The fan had ceased working. Omega claim their product is "European made" but it's made in Turkey - as far from Europe as you can get while still being accurate (I hope the factory is on the Western side of the Bosporus Strait). Property manager needed to prod the owners again to rectify it. Appliance serviceman was very cheerful, identified the problem but didn't have a spare in his van as "we don't deal with this unusual brand often" Several weeks later we have a replacement fan from Omega but the whole house reeks of burnt industrial oil when the oven is operational. Replacement is loud and clearly audible in the next room. Would not recommend.

Purchased Feburary 2016. 2 years and 9 months later the heating element ceased working. Although 9 months out of warranty, Shriro replaced the element without charge. There was no hesitation to repair under a warranty claim and I was happy. Now 12 months after the repair, the complete oven has stopped working - no fans, no heating, no lights. I rang Shririo and asked the question - Should I expect an oven to last longer that 3 years. The reply was yes...... great then under Australian Consumer Law, I can expect a repair, replacement or a ref...
Read moreund as the unit unit was not "durable" and that the unit had failed within a resonabely short period of time. It appears that Shriro will not fix the oven. Needless to say I won't be buying another Omega Oven.Purchased in February 2016 at The Good Guys for $580.

So I can only use the oven to roast on fan forced (inherited the oven in our house purchase). OK, that's not so good for me as I love to cook. However, the really bad point is that the hot air pumps out of the top of the oven, seemingly through vents in the oven door. We have checked the rubber gasket around the oven and it is fine, in place and no breaks. This can't be right surely!
You will have to contact the Omega service department - I have a Bosch and it extracts the hot air through the top also
Thank you. I have done that. It appears to be about the cheapest oven on the market. So, I am not holding my breath.
Hi Ann
We have the same issue and I can't give you an answer. If you look at my review below (Dec 2018 - "This oven is a disgrace!") you will see that we have found this oven appalling in every way. We are renting so can't do anything about it but in your position I would seriously consider replacing it with a better piece if equipment. You will save a fortune in cleaning products as well.
Good luck
Jane
Is there anything I can do about the dials as I need a torch to read them?. I am very happy with the Omega package that I bought as everything works well, except for this. Is there a stick-on label that can go over the top of the existing backing to make it any easier?
I can't help - we have to keep a torch permanently by the oven. To make things worse, the unit management have installed it under the bench. I'll repeat my original review - this oven is bad news all round.
