Hi. I use the steamer for 2 months. I love it. What worries me though is that I cannot clean it properly. As it is written in the manual, I put the jar in the dishwasher, but some parts from the food stayed in an area I cannot reach. :-( what now?

1 answer
Philips Avent
Philips S.Philips Avent

Hi there, Viera.

Thanks for submitting your question. We'll happily help you further. :) All the parts are dishwasher safe. In case food or mould has built up in parts of the appliance, immerse the parts in warm soapy water for about half an hour to soften the residuals and remove them with the help of a brush. The brush should get rid of the food. Will you let us know if this helped? Fingers crossed!

Hello, i have used my steamer blender for 2 days, today after it finished steaming the light turned off, it will blend but as the red light doesnt turn on anymore i dont know if the steaming will work. Please help me! Its brand new!

Philips S.Philips Avent

Hi Lucia, thanks for your question. It's great to hear you are using our Steamer and Blender! Normally, when the steaming process is finished, the appliance produces a buzzing sound and the steaming light goes out. If the steaming light does not go on anymore, it could be that the jar is not placed on the motor unit properly. Could you check if all the parts are assembled well? Otherwise, we'd like to ask you to reach out to us by phone to get into the issue more in-depth. You can reach us at 1300 363 391 (0800 658 224 for New Zealand). Thank you in advance, we hope to hear from you soon.

Hi there,

I bought the steamer blender as second hand. When i received the item i cleaned it with vinegar as per instructions. But i noticed there is a small brown color on the water tank. I dont think its rust. I felt it just need a little scrubbing. Is there a special brush we can use to brush the inside of the tank?

Philips S.Philips Avent

Hi Irene, thanks for reaching out to us here. To remove the stains from the appliance, we advise to immerse the water tank in warm soapy water for about half an hour to soften the residuals and remove them with the help of a brush. We don't have a special brush available for this, but you can use a normal dishwashing brush. We hope this helps!

Sorry to hear about that! I did can no help you with that, as am just a normal costumer as you, not a technician, or retailer, sorry. Maybe you should contact the company where you bought the item and contact Philips Costumer Service. I hope you still have the receipt and warranty. That's my humble contribution and hope you get a positive outcome. Hugs from Melbourne, Australia, Juan Manuel.

Hi Mario,

The main reason why the steamer might stop producing steam is due to the amount of water inside. We recommend to add plenty of water to the water tank before starting the steaming process. Furthermore, it's important to descale the device regularly to maintain a consistent steam. If this doesn't solve your issue, we'd like to ask you to reach out to us on Facebook or Twitter. Our agents will be more than happy to assist you further.

Kind regards,
The Philips Australia Team.

Hello, the steamer works just fine but the blender does not, what could it be?

1 answer
Philips Avent
Philips S.Philips Avent

Hello Marilou,

Thanks for contacting us here. We regret hearing that you are facing issues with the Avent SCF870/21. However, we might be able to give you some tips for this and get it back to work.

First, it is possible that there is too much food in the blender. This might block the blades of your blender. We recommend turning off the appliance and to process smaller amounts of the food. Also, please do not blend the food for longer than 30 seconds. Another reason for the blender not work is that the bowl is in steam mode. Please adjust the mode of the bowl and process the food as instructed.

We hope that this will be helpful. However, if you feel like this is not helping, please feel free to reach out to our service team on 1300 363 391 (Australia, Mondays to Saturdays: 7:00 am - 7:00 pm EST) or on 0800 658 224 (New Zealand, Mondays to Fridays: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm).

Hi,

My blender hasn’t been used in a while; I’ve washed the base put with vinegar and then rinsed as instructed. I actually did this process twice as brown bits came out both times. Using a torch I can see what looks like rust on the element. Has my machine reached the end of its life? I’m assuming it’s not safe to cook with...!

I was using this for couple of times. But nowadays the blending sound is very high and am concerned about my baby exposed to such high noise. Is it due to any defect in product?

1 answer
Philips Avent
Philips S.Philips Avent

Hi Reeet,

Thanks for reaching out about this. Of course the Steamer and Blender makes sound, but we can imagine your concern when it's notably louder than before. It might be that the sieve is not attached to the lid of the jar properly. Could you check whether this is the case? If this doesn't seem to solve the problem, please contact us on social media or through 1300 363 391 (AU) or http://philips.com/support/ if you're located elsewhere.
