Was good when working - lasted less than 2 yrs

    published

Not happy Philips. I would have expected it to last a long longer than it did. It had little use as only a professional couple in a brand new house. I have regularly cleaned out the barrel and filter and to look at it, it looks brand new. Today it started making a flapping sound upon turning it on and producing a strong electrical burning smell.

    Does the job

    published

For its price, I’ve been very happy with this unit. However, I only have three small rooms with carpet and a couple of mats so its not being heavily used or tested. After 10 months of use, still good suction. Whilst a bit annoying to clean, I would still choose a bagless machine if I had my time over to keep expenses down and minimise environmental impact.

poor dirt carrying capacity, clogs up after a couple of sessions

    published

The vacuum clogs up after about 250ml of dirt in the canister and emptying it creates a big mess as you have to tip the dust into a bag/bin as opposed to a release-latch like in many Electrolux vacuums. The filter requires cleaning after each session and using it just becomes a (larger and more tiresome) chore. After a year of use (roughly 52 sessions), the suction is so bad, you'd get more vigor out of a dead donkey unless you set it to maximum. Even then, it struggles to pick up a feather and forces you to contend with the hazardous levels of noise that it seemingly has plenty of.

I'm hoping to ditch this machine off to some poor unsuspecting sod.

    Can't purchase Repalcemenbt filter kit

    published

Tried to get a filter kit fro Target and Southside Electronics. Both say they are waiting on an order to come in. Why can't I get it from Godfreys where I bought it or from Philips?? This is most unacceptable, Without a good filter system the vacuum just does not perform properly.

Thank you. I live in Sydney. I phoned the number you recommended and was diverted to Southside Electronics. The kit is on back order. Maybe available next week. I live in hope.

Hooray. I got 3 filter kits from Southside Electronics. Get in quick for yours. The suction on this little unit is fantastic.

    Disappointing vacuum

    published

Bought this Philips vacuum after the superseded model failed after 3-months. We only have a small apartment with minimal dust and no pets. The rubber seal within the plastic canister broke after one use and the vacuum lost its suction. It is very disappointing and we won't be buying a Philips vacuum cleaner again.

Powerful suction for its size and lightweight.

    published

I have the PowerPro Active with Parquet model. Impressive product and definitely is the bang of the buck. The build quality is above average. It's small, lightweight and yet with a huge suction power with 4 levels to adjust. It does suck up the carpet while you put it over half the power! It's bagless too and come with HEPA filter that is allergy friendly. And it also comes with 2 years warranty.

Hi, I tried to buy a replacement filter kit as mine is full of mold and stinks. I called the above customer service number and was advised to call Optimum Electronics Solution. They gave me $15 for Motor filter, $6 for the exhaust foam filter and another $15 for freight, whereas Target has the whole replacement filter kit for $14. Unfortunately not available in the stock. Could you please advise where I can get one, which costs around $14-15? Appreciate your assistance.

Mine has gone moldy and smelly too. And I always dry it out properly. Not very good at all when its suppose to be a washable component! Now I have to fork out for a new filter after following washing instructions exactly... Rubbish!
