I am very happy with this product. It is compact, lighweight, has great suction and is easy to clean.I would recommend to anyone who doesn't want to spend a fortune on a vacuum cleaner but wants a quality product.

Ok...But how long will it last?

published

So I bought this vacuum cleaner a little while ago and so far have had no issues with its operation. However, the instructions (as far as I can tell) recommend replacing the filter every 24 months. Yet, nowhere in Australia seems to sell the required filters and the website is useless as far as vacuum cleaners + Australia go. So I'm a little concerned as to whether the product is meant to last beyond the 24 month mark, or if it is meant become obsolescent prior to this date, thus rendering replacement filters unnecessary.

Excellent product and yet affordable

Great suction, small size, light weight, easy to clean..... after having tried a lot of vaccums and being disappointed with most of them, I recently tried the Philips PowerPro and I strongly recommend it. I bought it at target for 99$ and it s worth the price, It s affordable and far better than the vaccum around the 50/70$dollars range.
Efficient and easy to use

Powerful Suction! Very good overall.

I bought the vacumm when it was on sale in Target for $80. Great suction! Very Powerful. Pick up dirt, dust very easy and well. Sometime its too powerful that the metal grip falls of when vacumming. I like the HEPA filter! But the rolling wheels on the tube was a bit noisy.
Powerful suction. Very clean floor
The wheels are a bit squeaking when vacumming

May I suggest a little silicon on the wheels? I had a similar issue with mine and this solved the issue for me

Small vaccum cleaner with excellent perfomance

Initially thought of buying a Dyson DC26, but saw this in Target on sale for $99. Trusting the brand name and Target's money back guarantee, decided to give it a try. I was quite surprised by its performance. The suction was good on both carpet and timber floors. Comes with basic accessories sufficient to do the job. Price doesn't justify the quality of this product.
Impressive suction, light weight, easy to clean

PowerPro FC8472/71

i keep getting very bad electric shocks whilst vacuuming when i touch the metal retractable handle part of the machine. Is this just me or could there be something wrong with the vacuum? It happens on carpet and tiles. I was starting to think i may need a piece of rubber hanging off me like the cars in the past.

if this is happening to you i would return it to your point of purchase or call the company you bought it from directly as this poses a serious health risk and may indicate a electrical fault. if i were you i would not be using this product again

Thanks. I rang company direct. they were very helpful and after speaking to safety team they have told me there is no danger it is only static.

PowerPro FC8472/71

I purchased a Philips FC8472/71 vacuum a few years ago & it is by far the best vacuum I've ever own. Unfortunately a clip on the inside of the flat brush which attaches to the metal tube broke. I have been searching for a spare part but I am not 100% what I'm actually look for. Should I look for the flat brush, the metal tube or are both attached together?

I cannot find a replacement filter for my Philips PowerPro4 anywhere in Australia. Could you please help me although it is cleaned often, it is clearly losing its suction quite considerably. The Philips online shop does not cater for Australians!!! Many thanks DEBS
