Good Tile Cut Saw But Blade Is Rubbish

published

I bought this tile saw to retile a kitchen and found the saw to be adequate but the blade caused tiles to chip even though I used masking tape to reduce chipping.
I replaced the cutting disc with a good quality disc and found that this rectified the problem.
I cut the tiles at a slow pace so as to not put too much pressure on the motor and found this to be good practice with this saw.
I recommend this product but toss and replace the cutting disc before using which still, in my opinion, still makes this saw good value for money.

Meh...

The plastic guard seemed very flimsy, and I would have felt safer if it was metal. It also moved around a bit, and fouled the cutting blade, but my husband still has all his fingers though, so that's a plus. The manufacturers forgot one of the guide screw holes that attach it to the cutting platform, and we had to modify it by drilling a hole in it ourselves. The water tank is difficult to fill, and you have to lift the whole machine to remove it. The measuring guides are crudely stuck on. In saying that though, it still did the job, and we cut all the tiles we needed to without any breaking. I'd recommend it for small home projects only.

Purchased in February 2021 at Bunnings Warehouse for $109.

Sends water everywhere from under the saw

It reduces the water level below safe before it cuts a 5cm tile. water runs from the saw down the side of the machine & onto the table pooling near the cord

Purchased in July 2020 for $110.

Table Saws

Find out how QEP 60707 Master Cut Tile Saw compares to other Table Saws

did not meet expectations

I needed to cut 600*300 porcelain tiles. The saw guard where it screws onto the table gets in the way and you cant cut more than about 7 inches 15cm. So despite safety reservations I removed the saw guard. Was able to cut a full 300mm but it sprays water everywhere so very messy. overall I will return it for a refund.

Purchased in September 2022 at Bunnings Warehouse for $93.

Couldn't find a good example

Purchased one of these to do mitre cuts on 100x300 wall tiles.
The motor and spindle (and consequently the blade) were misaligned with the tabletop causing the blade to foul on the table when setting up for mitre.
Also the rulers on the top are not aligned, so next to useless when trying to setup the fence.
Returned it for a replacement, and the replacement was also badly aligned. Definitely a manufacturing issue. Seem to be poorly constructed cheap chinese rubbish.
Returned it again and spent a bit extra to get the Ozito tile saw, which although plastic is much better put together and does cut straight.

Works as advertised

published

I had almost exactly the same experience as Dean. Was going to cost $200 to get 14 granite coping tiles cut so I bought this for $90.
I screwed it on a ply base and made an extension platform out the side, as I was cutting 600x400x 40/20 tiles that weight about 15kg each.
It cut them at about 4mm per second. It tends to spay water at you (because I needed to remove the blade guard and fence) and you can jam the blade if you try correcting an off cutting line but it did the job OK.
It would certainly work well on normal house tiles. The motor is nice and quiet.
