Made a mistake

lly work can never adjust them right so either to soft or to hard and they just spring back any way like a pogo stick, the disc break pads were squeaky and the rear break doesn't even clamp hard enough no matter how.much i squeeze the break lever, the paint is already coming off so very disapointed in the quality of the bike no way you can go off road like it states, i ended up buying a marinda and wow total difference in quality and is very comfortable to ride . Cheap Price for a Cheap Product and Service
I was thinking about buying a better bike from an actual store. But finally decided to just buy a cheap one from Reid for $370.
After a few rides, the front wheel was wobbly to the point where I couldn't ride it. So that cost me $30 from the bicycle service shop to repair. A few weeks later the bike was wobbling again, and the brakes felt faulty. So again I took it to the shop, and that cost another $100. have to now go and buy a proper bike. I contacted Reid just to explain the facts and that I wasn't, and their responses have been condescending and unhelpful. Just spend the extra cash to buy a proper bicycle.

Horrific customer service who threatens customer
Bough MTB Pro last month and these guys have sent me a wrong cheaper bike. When called I got threatened by service manager not to look at my issue for few days as they are very busy. I had to convince this guy that it's their issue and they need to at least acknowledge and arrange return shipping. After sending the wrong bike photos they agreed to send me another bike, that bike never arrived. story and they have started their store to give customer service but the service I got was horror story for me and they never sent replacement my bike on time. Good value bike. Damaged in delivery. Twice.
My Reid Xenon 29'er arrived with minor damage. Reid sent a replacement part. When Fastway Couriers delivered the new part it was also broken. Still a very good value bike.

Reid Urban X2 is awesome
This has turned out to be an awesome bike for me. May be I am the lucky one as I can see some very genuine bad reviews. I went to the North Melbourne store to check the bike itself. Was happy with the build quality and components used. Staff was helpful there and gave time to explain things and models.

t. The frame is definitely holding well for the extra weight of the battery, motor and rear rack with basket. I put my duffel bag of 7-8 kgs on top when I ride to office. There has been no major problem at all. The only issue I have faced is that sometimes while going uphill on a lower gear it feels that the chain on the rear cassette ring slips that jerk my crank arm a bit. Only happened couple of times. I think this is an small issue that I need to look into. On flats there is no problem at all. The components this bike made of are bang on price. Shimano gears & crank-set (Shimano Altus M2000 & Shimano HG200 9-speed cassette), Tektro hydraulic brakes. Fast Continental Sport Contact 2 700 x 35C tyres. Matt Black finish is crisp. So far I am happy. These bikes can have initial small issues and needs someone to properly assemble and fine tune it as they are delivered boxed. As far Urban X2 is concerned I will recommend it highly and Reid Cycles in general as they have great range, free delivery and can find most sizes as I found other retailers were out of stock on their bike ranges and sizes.Similar opinion? Fixed wheel bike
My ride for a few Km and I started going up hill I hear this crack crack . I think I need to check this out thought it was the front sprocket but no the barring had gone and the chain was about to break
Just emailed Reid’s I’m in Darwin so I can only guess they won’t be fixing this onl got the bike mid January so it’s last 2 months
I was thinking of buy a MTB off them but I’ll buy local spend the extra $200 and not have any drama
I’m so disappointed

Forty-something getting back on the bike!
I purchased a Reid 27.5 inch X-Trail Mountain Bike online. It arrived promptly to regional NSW. I was going to have a crack at putting it together myself but I used a local bike mechanic. I'm really glad I chose this option as I'm not particularly handy. And you'd need more than just a set of allen keys & a bit of enthusiasm to do so. Anyhow, it runs like a dream. I'm really enjoying it. It's really sturdy and the click gears are awesome. The people at Reid were very helpful when I was asking lots of dumb questions before deciding to purchase. I'm extremely happy (though still really fat and unfit).

All round great experience...
I bought a 2018 Vice 3.0 hardtail from Reid online. I spoke to their call centre a few weeks before the purchase and they were very pleasant and helpful. I called them during my purchase (as ZipMoney customer service is terrible ) and they were very pleasant and extremely helpful. I've emailed them since to discuss something to do with the setup of my bike and they replied very quickly and were very helpful.
Hopefully, they'll start producing more high-end bikes and I can buy my next bike from them too.

Abusive staff!!!
What a mistake I made purchasing through Reid Cycles...
Phone centre staff are abusive, arrogant, belittling, condescending and simply put.. rude...
Spent $700 on them and told me my 15 years putting a bike together is nothing compared to their 27 and that I should get a new job and some training... wouldn't even replace a faulty chain..
When I find a way to formally report specific persons and the company I will be.

Worst customer service ever.
Over charged me and refuse to refund my money, ignore any further responses, responses received have been arrogant and rude. Be warned, avoid at all costs. Would not recommend them to my worst enemy's streak stained jock strap.

Good bikes, super quick delivery.
I would like to congratulate Reid on the smooth transaction and super quick delivery of the two bikes I bought (one for myself and my wife). The bikes were delivered within a week of the order and were well packaged. Although we were not home for delivery the driver made sure the bikes were placed securely within the property. (Thanks James from next door for signing)
I see the bikes were dispatched from Melbourne to Brisbane and I could track the whole delivery. I have set the bikes up and it was an easy task.

Poor Customer Service
I purchased a Reid Urban X2 (Size XL frame) bike online.
When it arrived I took it to a local bike shop to have it assembled.
The bike was supposed to come with a kickstand. The bike store owner told me that there was no kickstand in the box. I contacted Reid Cycles & was told that the bike should have come with a kickstand & that they would organise a replacement for me. I have emailed Reid Cycles twice since then to check on progress & have had no response from them for 3 weeks now. I am very happy with the bike. I am not very happy with Reid Cycles Customer Service.

Great Product with Top Quality Customer Service
I bought the Urban X2 Model 3 weeks ago and has been using it since to go to campus. Got a student offer along with Free locks, pump, and lights. The freebies weren't not supposed to be free as I already had the student offer. However, as I didn't know this terms applied, Matt the customer service still got them sent to me for free anyway. Really satisfied with the quality and service from Reid Cycles.

Good quality bike
I bought a Lady Vintage Bike (Light, 7 speed with a basket at the front) about 5 months ago. The delivery was quick and we assembled it quickly.
We greased the bearings and the chain a few weeks ago, pumped some air in the tyres at the servo and the bike is running perfectly. It was good to get the lights, pump, lock and helmet for free.

I had a skeptical review on here earlier due to some order kerfuffles. the whole process very easy and displayed a superb level of customer service that I think is rare to see these days. The bike itself (Falco Elite), rides like a dream. It was great as is, but I replaced the saddle with one that fit me better and put some clipless pedals in, and after that I don't think I would change a thing. Great service during a busy christmas period, gread bike
I ordered a bike for my girlfriend who at the time had a back injury. I ended up purchasing a model online as they didn't have it in the shop. I ordered a Royal Ladies. The online service gave me a huge amount of support and assistance in choosing the right bike. I placed an order two weeks prior to christmas and it arrived 3 days later. The bike is perfect for light to moderate use, looks great and is comfortable. 3 Weeks delivery - No Apologies
I ordered the Reid Falco Advanced online. My partner was buying the bike as a birthday present for me. I did some research and as an entry level road bike Reid seemed like a good place to start.

The problem was the two day delivery was actually 3 weeks. My partner paid for the bike but the online system didn't provide an order confirmation. She checked her bank account and the money had been taken out. She rang Reid and explained and offered to redo the order ...Read more
but didnt want to be charged again. After sending through her bank statement Reid said it was fine if the money had come out then the order was successful. She got an email from Reid 2 days later saying due to demand the bike wouldn't be delivered for another 2 days. This was understandable, it was December and everyone is busy pre christmas. 5 more days went by with no bike. She contacted Reid again and they said the bike would be delivered on such and such a date. After several more days she called again and Reid told her there was no order for the bike. She explained everything and who she had spoken to about it over the previous phone calls. They said there is no order or record of previous correspondance, she said she had received an email about the delivery but still their systems showed nothing. She then had to re-email her bank statement. Finally Reid said the bike would be delivered in 2 days. When the bike finally arrived it was well packaged - easy to set up etc. The bike needed tuning and tightening, as i expected. BUT the customer service was horrendous. As far as im concerned a simple apology or acknowledgement of the mistake would of sufficed but we didnt even get that. A decent store would of thrown in something like a free helmet, bike lock, tyre upgrade as an apology and please come back. I have received better customer service and quicker turnarounds from dodgy stores in china. I understand mistakes happen but the stores administrative response was poor and there should be better record keeping and response policy in place.1 comment

Excellent customer service!!
Just wanted to say a HUGE Thankyou to Rowan from customer service in Melbourne.
I ordered a bike online for a Christmas present, then found out the person who I was buying for did not like the bike I had chosen.
After discussing my options with Rowan and finding out the other bikes I wanted to exchange it for were sold out he rang the warehouse to check on my order. He had the bike returned to the warehouse and refunded my money!
He was so helpful and polite, best customer service I have had in a long time.
My parents and myself have both purchased bikes from Reid, would highly recommend.

Good bike but don't order online
The bike arrived quick but it also arrived with a dent and random scratches all over it, the gear mechanism was faulty too, like it had been bent in transit. I emailed them back and forth but their responses were useless. In the end I took it to a professional to get it fixed and he agreed it wasn't a problem with the way it was put together but it had been damaged. I'm just really disapointed in the responses I got from Reid. Won't recommend! !
