We purchased our Rinnai 1250 gas fire for our “cold” Tassie winters in 2022, but yet to use it for the purpose of purely heating. We have got ours going for some ambience only and the flame controls is easy with the slim remote. But.....what we did not foresee nor did we do our homework on is that the fan is hardwired to “full time on” when the gas fire is turned on! And the fan is not exceptionally quiet either despite what some YouTube videos seem to say. Even at the low flame settings which is then to correspond with the fan speed. To be h...
Read moreonest had we’d known this I doubt we would have not purchased this unit and gone with a manufacturer that has the fan on a seperate control to enable just simple flame ambience. Unless of course Rinnai comes up with solution here.
Purchased in June 2022.

Modern looking fireplace that actually heats up the area efficiency. The fireplace looks great and is quiet unlike others we had a look at. We chose the pebbles option with the black trim which looks great. The only maintenance we need to go every week is vacuum the dust filter. It has temperature settings or flame settings on the remote. The temperature control works well at maintaining the set temperature. The fireplace effectively heats up our 90m2 open living area with 2.7m ceilings. We use it for around 6 hours a day every single da...
Read morey over winter with the temperature set to 22 degrees and pay around $500 for 3 months. I got rid of the remote and replace it with a universal remote.Hi Jono, thanks for the review, we are pleased to hear your Rinnai Flam Fire heater is exceeding your expectations.

Hi Ron V,
Read moreThe Rinnai 1250 log fire is classed as a space heater, and is not a designed to be a decorative log fire. The flame and log effect produces heat and if the heat from the flames are not removed by the fan, this can cause overheating problems and cause the unit to shutdown.
