Frozen screen, Phone gets confused, need to reboot every time this happens
My title explains the frustration with this phone. I am very pleased that I bought it from a reputed shop ' Officeworks', who refunded the money. Otherwise a great phone design.

Love my new phon
My cheap Alcatel phone recently died, and being a phone that cannot be opened, it is what i call a throw away phone, I did a lot of research and read some reviews and decided to get the Samsung A20, have only had it for 4 days, but no comparison to the cheaper phone, i love the photos, they are so clear, the phone was very easy to set up, the battery holds well which is exactly what i wanted, and everything runs very quickly, and smoothly, not used to such a fancy phone.
Very happy with my choice.

Great design, my phone was incredibly buggy.
I loved the phone's features, design and function but sadly my phone was incredibly buggy, with screen freezes and random opening of menus. I tried every known fix around (two factory resets, removed micro sd, bare minimum apps etc, etc but to no avail. A staff member at the store that I bought it from had the exact same issues, so it must have been a bad batch at this store. I loved the phone but was mentally exhausted after trying for four days to resolve the problems. I returned it and got an A30 instead that has been very good so far...

Well priced, large screen, easy to navigate.
I have updated from the J1 Mini only because of the need for a higher quality camera for documents.
To cut out that whole printer, scanner, laptop upload scenario.
I`m also assuming my J1 Mini was not 5G ready. This phone is very thin in comparison. Battery life is great. The screen is silky smooth. It does everything the same, emails, youtube, music, photos, internet. Except it`s faster, more responsive. Kinda like going from a 4 cylinder to a 6 cylinder with turbo.
As you might think, yes I go for affordable. My only gripe, it`s hard to hold! Too big for my liking.
If it was the same size as my J1 it would be perfect and SELL LIKE HOTCAKES for my gen who like phones that fit in your pocket. Listening Samsung???

Good value for money
Excellent phone for the money. Large bright screen which is eminently easy to read. Fast charging is a little glitchy though. Flashes usb connected- usb disconnected over and over. Not sure that this ffecting performance however.

The screen is very clear & it takes great photos.
I purchased a Samsung mobile phone on 22/10/19 & it has packed up on 3/11/19. It will not turn off, the torch turned itself on & refuses to turn off, different apps appear & won't go, the screen is flashing & when in use the phone keeps cutting out. It wasn't expensive at $220 but I did expect it to last a bit longer. The photos are really good, can't fault that. I'm letting the battery go flat so that the torch will turn off. I'll have another try at the phone tomorrow but I am disappointed. I'm probably just unlucky.

appened. I contacted Samsung and had the chat help. The consultant was really good, we managed to get my screen saver up but nothing would work. The phone went crazy less than a fortnight after I bought it, the screen was covered in coloured lines which shimmered madly, next the apps did the same and were going on top of each other so I turned the phone off, next the torch turned itself on and wouldn't go off. The "power off" button had no effect so I left it overnight, next morning I recharged it, had a green screen for a second or two then nothing. I live in Wyndham in the far north of Western Australia so driving back to Darwin is not an option. I have my receipt but had tossed the packaging as I was expecting at least a year from the phone. I don't mind sending the phone to your service centre if you can let me know the postal address. I've never had a good run with Samsung mobiles, perhaps it's the tropical weather as I've had three phones which I had to send to family in the south of the country. One worked perfectly until the relative took it to Queensland where it played up & had to have the battery replaced on returning to Perth. My daughter brought her quite expensive phone up here, same thing. Most of my workmates have Samsungs and don't have a problem. The A20 seemed to be a good phone and took very good photos. Thank you for contacting me, it's appreciated as so many places don't bother. Regards, Jocelyn Layton, Wyndham W.A.KathSamsung

Decent Phone for the Price
I had brought this device as a backup phone for business. It seemed cheap enough so I went and got it on prime from Amazon. The phone is decent for its price. 32GB storage is fairly standard for a budget phone, the camera is alright. The display is great, little bezels and the quality is great.

This phone is incredible
Im so pleased with the camera quality of this phone. The pictures are so clear and high definition, which makes the pictures bright and real. Even at night the Camera is pretty efficient, I always take pictures. Also the brightness levels are amazing too, like the auto setting, which saves my battery. All the apps run so fast and smooth, and I can pick up calls easily. I would recommend this phone to everyone. Its truely amazing...

Great phone. Poor after sales service / warranty
Purchased the A20 phone 4 weeks ago. Very happy with the features and price point.
However 2 weeks later realised the WI-FI module isn't working properly i.e. it would scan for networks but cannot find any nor can it connect to networks setup manually. This issue could've been out of the box as I hardly use WI-FI given the large mobile data plan I have.
Called up Samsung support and followed their diagnostics process and ended up performing a factory reset to no avail (this is obviously very tedious / time consuming and inconvenient). Took the...Read more
phone to Samsung service centre in Olympic Park. Time line of events as follows: 1. Samsung advised warranty is void because the rear cover was tampered with on this "unibody" phone which is a contradiction in its own right. Admittedly i did run my nails under the back cover to see whether I could replace with another cover however the cover was not removed at all and advised Samsung of this. 2. After a lengthy conversation the manager advised that this was not considered "tampered" and the case will be put forward for repair and I will get a phone call within 48 hours 3. 48 hours elapses. No phone call. Called Samsung put on hold for over 45 mins then line drops. Called again consultant advises he was trying to receive more detail from another department - on hold for another 45+ mins and line drops again. Called again this time they advised that someone will call me back 4. No one called me back after another 12 hours 5. Called Samsung - they advised me there is water damage. I'm totally baffled as the I have not dropped the phone is in any liquids and also the phone is FULLY functional except for the WI-FI module. Waiting on the line for more details and the line drops out again. This is becoming a total joke.1 comment

Typo errors are much and the phone unlocks on its own.
When typing messages even when u select the right keys, it automatic shows something different and if u don't read your message before then it's a gross issue. The battery lasts quite long. The phone opens and closes at its own pace even when u put it on screen lock.

Great phone for the money
Got this for $160 (locked to Vodaphone) - great Android phone for the money. Android 9, fast charging, NFC ... everything I need except missing wifi 802.11ac (aka 5g wifi). Unfortunately where I work does not offer older 2.4Ghz wifi so I can't use it in the office except with mobile data. Other than that the phone ticks all the boxes for me, and is great value for the me

Excellent Value
Given the expense of high end phones I try and purchase my family mobiles for sub $250. This Samsung has excellent screen brightness and colour. The screen is very large compared to other family purchases in this category (eg Sony Experia C4) It also had the much desired 3GB RAM so the many apps I use dont choke the system)
Nice and thin for storage in the pocket

A whole lotta phone
This Samsung A 20 has replaced my aging once noble Samsung Note 3. I hung onto the note 3 as long as I could expecting to pay $600AU for a decent replacement. I looked at chinese brands and they were more expensive and it is much easier and safer to buy in Australia. I bought the A20 from Telstra. The whole process too 5 minutes and then I proceeded to set up and connect. Wow what a difference. I really do note have a single complaint about this brilliant phone. It is easy to unlock and the apps open quickly and smoothly. The dual rear camera ...Read more

Questions & Answers
Karina B.asked
Hi, I have a Samsung A20 since last year. This morning I went to open Samsung Notes. The screen was blank, meaning Samsung Notes was not responding. First time for this problem. Obviously I have notes that are important to me, such as my Electricity Account Number, Meter box number etc. Any suggestions for problem fixing. I opened App info but nothing to help. On front screen when tapping Samsung Notes, just a pop up advising me, "Samsung Notes keeps stopping". That's it.

Hi Adam, my A20 device is up to date with latest software, but I remember downloading an update two or so days ago from who I supposed was SAMSUNG. Could I have received a virus, but if so then how come nothing else has stopped working.
How do I clear the cache and am I to do so through the SETTINGS app or the internal SAMSUNG NOTES? Thanks
Sorry, Ada
