I used to really like Sanity. I could go there for anything I wanted in DVDs or CDs from The Beatles to Blackeyed Peas. But now that I am over 25, I find that I am practically ignored, even when asking where I could find popular artists such as:- 'Pink', 'Gwen Stefani' or 'Fergie' for my teenage daughter. I think that if Sanity staff didn't concentrate so much on the younger market, they would realise that alot of times the Parents, Aunt's & Uncles etc want to buy albums and DVDs for their family members.
Bargains can be had occassionally.
Lack of service.

the store sells geart cd's and dvd's but the price is way to high. you can get the same dvd's at other store for less. they could sell more stock if they had a look at what other stores charge for the same stock.
i do like the dvds they have got in store and how they have dvd's and cd's
the prices are to high compaired to other stores

Good
Overall, Sanity is probably the first place to go when you want to buy a CD or DVD, especially as they usually have a lot of products on sale. If you buy online, they'll deliver very quickly. But sometimes they just don't stock what you're looking for. DVDs that are fairly popular, but not box office hits, won't necessarily be included in their range. Also, while they stock a lot of old films and new films, a lot of titles more than about five years old aren't included in their range by default.
Prompt delivery from their online store, with a good range of DVD and music titles.
They don't stock a lot of the minor titles.

Terrible
The reason the customer service is so bad is because the company doesn't train their staff properly. They insist on employing young & inexperienced people to save on wages. Staff are always stressed out from working under such high presure conditions with not enough staff to do the work. All the company cares about is making money, but what they don't seem to realise is if they employed more experienced staff they would have the time to provide good customer service and would make more money in the long run.
They're everywhere

I do feel for music shops intoday's down load world, and if you do want to buy cd's, they are much cheaper online or through a place like big w. For this very reason, they really need to ensure they have great customer service to make sure that customers do return there. My last experience with them was a young girl rolling her eyes at me when I asked for help chosing a cd for a teenager as I had no idea what they are into now... I thought slaes assistants were meant to assist???
over priced, ufriendly service and they do not have a great range

Good
i used to shop at sanity on a monthly to weekly bases as they always had what i was looking for in cds and also dvds.the main thing i enjoy at shopping in sanity is that they have earphones so you can listen to a soundtrack before purchasing it which is a real good thing if you cant think of the artists name
they have really good advetising on tv and also in the mail and are reasonable priced, they also have just about every cd that you are looking for
some things that are not on sale are fairly expensive compared to other department stores

Excellent
Great service team have product knowledge and are helpful, offers like 3 for $40 are great too. Always prefer them to JB who suck at service.
The service, the special offers, the rewards programs (being able to use it at dusk, bras n things and sanity is great, I rack up vouchers in no time!)
Can be slightly more expensive at times.

Sanity is a great store which sells movies, music, and other various products in relation to these two concepts. I find it Sanity to be a great store as it enables you go to one store in order to purchase all your products. I love the whole aspect and concept of the store, however sometimes items sold at the shop can be quite expensive. The service however is very satisfactory, and the sales assistants are quite informed and knowledgable about their selling products.
The range of music and movie related products sold.
I dislike hardly anything, however find the prices to be expensive at times.

Overall, I would get in my car and drive the extra 5 minutes away from the shopping centre to go to WOW, or lots of centres have a JB, but I wouldn't go to Sanity purely because of the much higher price I would pay. Extortion.
They are heaps of them around as they're generally in the shopping centres.
The place is a ripp off. They charge twice as much as the cheaper places like WOW or JB and they're customer service is neglegable. You've got to go and ask the person behind the desk which takes an age as the lines are long. They don't have that much range. They're sale prices are still ripping you off.

I always have a look at the tables at the front of Sanity and have shopped with them for many years. This year I was asked if I wanted to join their rewards club which cost $5 and offerred me a $5 voucher for every $100 spent. The first $300 I spent though I did not get any vouchers because I was told the computer had not properly been logging my purchases. No offer was made to do anything about it and I sent an email with receipt numbers to show how much I had been spending there but got no response.
Good deals such as 5 dvds for $60.
I felt ripped off by their rewards program.

I went to my local Sanity to order some CD singles I had seen on the website. I even printed the page with catalogue number and price. The girl behind the counter told me "yeah...we don't really order singles", despite the fact there was a rack behind me with a range of current/ex-chart singles. After a month, I had heard nothing. I visited a local independant music store, who already had one title IN STOCK, and they were able to order the other title and get it instore within a week. When I went back to Sanity to cancel my order, it took 15 mi...Read more
ns - i don't think the girl did my order properly! Funny - one of the nation's largest music retailers can't order a couple of singles??? Ok selection of new release albums Extremely limited range; unhelpful staffSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

I asked for a dvd i was eager to buy, some staff checked on the computer and they said they had sold out. It was $10 but now its sold out and this was a clearance price they wont be getting anymore back in again. The next week I just decided to test them out, as their were different staff working, and i got told a completely different story. Instead they told me, the same dvd, was in their current catalogue for $19.99, but they were currently sold out. They said they could definitely order a copy in for me at this sales price but they just were...Read more
nt sure how long it was gonna take for the next copies to come in. I chose not to order one, but I left the store pretty unimpressed with their contradictory service and poor communications. lots of stores around which can be convenient; can be cheaper with their sale prices. serviceSimilar opinion? I’ve just ordered Stargate SG1 box set and was informed via email that it is on back order. Can you give me an estimated time of arrival for this item.
Thanks, Dave.
