Each time the vacuum cleaner was turned on, the coughing started.I complained because this was what
Yes, the vacuum cleaner tips over, and it is very cumbersome around furniture. The suction is good, but the real problem was the stench of dust from the bag, each time I used it. The Staff at Godfreys Fairy Meadow, told me it needed emptying. The point being "You are not supposed to be able to smell the bag, because of all of those filters that are there to prevent the dust, smell, etc from emitting into the room. The cleaner was very expensive, but I did not mind paying to keep us healthly. When the Sydney Manager gave me a new cleaner, after I com...Read more
plained,I was shocked to find it exactly the same as the first one. Sorry but this cleaner should never be used for any family member. After this experience I would never purchase any product with the Blue Butterfly Symbol.1 comment

Sauber SL-200 a big disappointment.
Purchased this from Godfrey's March 2013 and was also convinced this was the ultimate vacuum. In the past 12 months the machine has started to fall apart, including the wheels on the power head, the base roller wheel has broken off requiring a complete replacement of the base and the side bumper has come partially detached from one side. Over $400 to repair. Not what is expected from a $1400 machine. The machine has only had normal use within my home. Until parts starting to break the machine it performed very well but is big, heavy and bulky to lug around the house. I would not recommend this machine.

Satisfied when it was working! But falling to bits!
I seems a number of people have experienced the same issues as us. Having purchased only Electrolux vaccums in the past the salesman convinced us this was the ultimate vaccum. We are very disappointed with this product and apparently when you pay cash for an item you are not in there system and can’t be traced. I’ve just rung Godfrey’s again to ask when it will be repaired having waited two weeks with no contact, they haven’t heard but will be in touch.

Disappointed in the Sauber
The casing is broken which I have never had happen before in any vacuum cleaner I have owned before, paid about $1600 from Godfreys Sunshine Coast a few years ago. I did send an email to Sauber with no reply. With the broken casing, the suction is poor. For the money I paid, I am disappointed.

Overpriced in Australia.
After grappling with this infernal machine for six years, I'm finally getting rid of it. I purchased it from Godfreys Camperdown for $1599.
It was the most expensive vacuum I've ever seen and I expected refinement and ease of use, unfortunately this wasn't the case.
The intelligence function isn't helpful as it takes a while to ramp up to full suction which is frustrating and the suction doesn't match some of the vacuums I have previously owned..
The length of the wheelbase and the barrel material means it is always getting caught as you p...Read more

Top dollars for rubbish.
What a load of rubbish, Powerhead. The connection between head and hose keeps failing. No, it is not the surge protection. The hose is way too stiff and continues to roll the vacuum cleaner. Kinks continuously. The entire unit is inept for the purpose designed. Had for a couple of years and finally fed up.

Expensive vac that doesn't go the distance
We used this vacc for 6 years. The warranty was used many times which thankfully was available for 5 years but for such an expensive outlay shouldn't of had to be used. The vac is also bulky and heavy. The hose bent and the plastic part where the vacc body was supposed to be able to hold the head broke twice (didn't bother replacing the second time) It totally stopped working and have replaced with Miele 'family all rounder' which is about 1/3 the price and are so far very happy.

Very heavy and bulky
Works well on carpet but very bulky and heavy to maneuver, not good for small areas bathroom toilet etc just too big, sore arms for days after using, certainly wouldn't be good if you have a bad back, takes you twice the time to vacuum after swapping heads and dragging around

EXCELLENT VACUUM CLEANER FOR ALLERGIES
I purchased this vacuum cleaner from Godfreys and love the way it picks up all dust, hair and dirt when vacuuming. The machine is heavy and a little cumbersome but I find in comparison to the Dyson, it is the one I choose for my bed and breakfast. The suction on this machine is far better than any other I have ever tried. Suitable for those with allergies.
Tradesmen who have worked on my house have used this machine and rave about the suction. They use all types of vacuum cleaners to clean up their mess. Great machine

Awful
Although it vacuums well, parts keep breaking on it, hence the vacuum spends more time getting repaired than being used. It is also heavy and cumbersome to carry up and down stairs and the cleaning head is too large to vacuum under beds and cupboards.
The additional filter is good to use with the vacuum, but the machine needs regular servicing as it has 5 internal filters. Expensive product.

Falling apart & body cracking up after only 8 years, with poor manufacture
The machine easily tips when standing upright, we have mainly hard floors & only use the power head for carpets in the bedrooms, on rugs & mattresses. Whilst the suction is great, all of the pvc parts on the machine have badly deteriorated, cracked or fallen off.. We have taken great care of the Sauber, however it has definitely not stood the test of time.

Not too sure about 30 years!
When working this Vac is amazing! Ours is 8, and we are starting to see the wear and tear. The wheels are falling off and hand set stopped working . When sent for repairs they only last 2-3 months before needing repair again. After warranty the service is costly, as are the bags.

Rendered unusable!
We purchased our Sauber Intelligence SI-200 in August, 2013. It was pitched as the "Electrolux" of the future, built to last 30+ years. Well, it might last that long, but the attachments have certainly let us down. It's been mostly fine with the usual complaints such as cord retraction becoming weak, telescopic pole jamming, and plastic wheels breaking off. The next thing we noticed was the plastic around the hose handle coming apart. A few months ago, however, the power supply to the hose failed completely, thus rendering both of the power h...Read more
eads unusable. We continued to vacuum with the standard floor head, but it too recently fell apart, leaving us without anything more than the small fabric brush head to vacuum the whole house. Very disappointing to find that we will need to pay a lot to replace both the hose and the floor head. In times past, we've not even spent that much on a new vacuum cleaner, but given the price we paid for this one, we feel we have no option. I really feel that Sauber ought to honor their sales pitch and provide free part replacements for the full 30 year lifetime we were promised from this machine. Sauber, please help us out!1 comment

This machine is a beast
Despite the hefty price tag, this cleaning machine is the king of all vacuums! I have used this machine many times and am always blown away by the results. It is a complete cleaning solution for your home or office and is the best carpet cleaning power head on the market.
For improved quality of life and a state of the art vacuum, I would strongly recommend this product if you are able to afford fortnightly repayments of roughly $50.

Good vac, pricey replacements
Good vac, lots of attachments. It is quiet expensive to replace bags and filters. We've had this machine for 5 years now and still going strong. Had an issue with the powerhead about a month out of our warranty period and they fixed it thankfully. The tubing that houses the electrical stuff in pipe tends to catch hair and forms a blockage. That's probably my only major issue. The yearly services clear that up however.

So Good
This vacuum did cost a bit but it is so worth it. Have had Dyson's before but this one is so quite. It picks up dirt so much better and because we have both a dog and cat inside the pet hair attachment is terrific for picking up the hair on our chairs. In future wouldn't buy anything else but this brand. I think from memory they are German made, so that speaks for itself.

great vac
brought my saucer about 2 years ago. Awesome cleaning results. I have 2 large dogs and a 3 year old was worth the investment. Brought the visualizer to save on bags works really well only thing I don't like is the weight wouldn't recommend for elderly. No mechanical problems yet.

Great Filters but not easy to move around.
I bought this vacuum cleaner as it had the best filtration in the market due to my son's dust allergy. However, it is not very easy to move around because of it's design. I have had it for just over 5 years now and last year the vacuum stopped working so I took it back to Godfreys under warranty and they told me that it had water damage so will not be fixed under warranty. I have never stucked water with the vacuum and found it extremely hard to believe. I had to buy a new motor to get it fixed, (I felt I had no choice as this was way cheaper t...Read more
han buying a new vacuum). Then just after the warranty ran out the power head stopped working. They fixed it at my cost, luckily it was only $20. Would I buy another one? Probably no. Would I buy from Godfreys in the future? Probably no also. Next time, I'll probably buy a Dyson.1 comment

Oh the regrets!
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY
I bought this vacuum cleaner from Godfrey's nearly 7 years ago now an it has been endless frustration since. I've never regretted a purchase so much! Sure, the suction and filters are fantastic, and the stainless steel body concept is great, but when mixed with cheap plastic and faulty mechanics, these selling points become redundant. Despite the exorbitant price tag ($1.5-2k), the heads break, wheels crack off, clips crumble, power fails, motor overheats.... plus it is big, bulky, heavy, and generally cumbersome.. ...Read more
I had to send it away so many times whilst under warranty, I'd hoped Godfrey's would at least once offer a replacement or refund. The last repair simply kept the machine going until the warranty expired (how convenient!), after which it started to break again. It is currently at the repair shop (again!), and I just received a call from Godfrey's today (nearly 2wks later!) with a quote of roughly $320 for replacement parts, including a new hose (!? the hose is fine) and PCB Main!! What a joke!! Not. Happy. Jan!! BUYER BEWARE - Here are is a detailed list of problems I've had to date: Warranty Period *Initial telescopic tube was difficult to expand and retract (replaced in store) *Automatic floor head crumbled and cracked at the back (replaced in store) *Electronic control handle power failure1 comment

Disappointing given the high price tag.
I like all the attachments and the idea that it's better for sensitivities as we have dust mite allergy in our house, but it is heavy to pull around and I've had various issues with it since purchase - cord retraction, a number of external parts breaking off (suggestive of cheap quality), hard to shut the section holding the dust bag and the handle retractor getting stuck. Godfreys take two to three weeks to return the item from service too and don't offer a spare. Too long in this family's house to be without a vacuum cleaner. I've had much cheaper vacuums last longer without so many issues.

Hi how do I get to the case apart to fix a lose power connection? Out of warranty Also can I get a bag that I can clean sick of buying throw away bag's?
1 answer
Godfrey G.Sauber
Hi Elesha,
We would recommend taking the machine into your nearest Godfreys store to be booked in and repaired by one of our technicians.
Unfortunately we do not sell reusable bags for this machine as they are unhygienic and not good for the machine, however, you can purchase an attachment to capture majority of the dust so one bags lasts longer.
