We love our four door Sharp fridge freezer because it's so handy to access whichever area of the fridge you need without letting out large amounts of cold air at the same time which is definitely going to translate to cheaper power prices. However in the last month the fridge has begun freezing all our groceries so even when the temp setting is changed to 6 degrees it is continuing to freeze everything. Don't know what to do but need a solution fast as its costing us money. Help

I love Sharp products... They last forever!
My four door is11 years old and from the first electricity bill, realised I was saving $10.00 per bill. Obviously this is because the freezer motor only has to boost the part of the freezer that has been opened.
Yes... It's weirdly noisy... but I have never owned a fridge that wasn't.
The only service I have required was the replacement of an interior light globe after moving house and that was completed in a few weeks.
The seals on all four doors after 11 years of use are still in perfect order.

Some trial and error was required to set the temperature so that the salad didn't freeze but once done, has never required adjustment. Very few electrical appliances can be described as beautiful, but this one can, I absolutely love it and would give it my highest recommendation for looks, function and running cost.

Hi Cally, thank you for the wonderful feedback. It is always great to get feedback from customers. We hope you continue to enjoy using the refrigerator.
I am a great advocate for sharp products.
My first T.V. lasted for 25 years and my present one is 19 years old.[Both Sharp]
I believe my long association with Sharp products qualifies me as a good judge of quality.

Fridge is freezing food even with temp set @ mkaximum 6 degrees
Have been very happy with the fridge, but last week I slid the fridge out of it's opening to clean behind it. I removed the back cover and vacuumed around the condenser and pipes and now the fridge has started freezing everything. I read the manual and adjusted settings - I lowered the freezer settings to -13 and raised the fridge setting from -3 degrees to + 6 degrees and even with fridge at a 6 degree setting is freezing everything. I need help please.

A most reliable fridge.
After years of faultless service and only a couple of plastic components replaced due to breakage, my unit has developed a freezing refrigerator compartment. The door seals were old and remained opened slightly in the centre joint. I replaced the seals and checked the sealing is good. Still the refrigerator is freezing food.

Icing up freezer, noisy motor and door issues.
With the exception of having to quite often replace broken plastic components, i.e. veggie crisper etc. we had this fridge going well until late last year, then we started to notice the noisy motor, the squeaking doors, that opens one when you shut to other one and lately, the increasingly worrying amount of ice on the freezer's doors and the food in the fridge been not as cold as it should be!
I have checked the seals on both, the fridge and freezer doors and they look fine to me, but I also had them checked by my son who is an Air Conditioni...Read more

Icing up in freezer
The refrigerator/freezer was working well up to about a fortnight ago but now the freezer compartment is icing up. we have wiped it down but it still is icing up. We have checked the seals and they seem to be OK, so we cannot work out why it is icing up - seems strange as it was working so well before.

Great for 6 years
This fridge has been great for 6 years, perfect in its food placement / storage, and also its appearance and function. Lately though, it has become noisy as the motor works. The noise ceases when I open a door, and begins again when the door is closed. I have been told, over the phone, that a fan in the motor is the trouble, and to replace it will cost over $400 and take at least a month to get the part. Has anyone else attempted to do this him / her self? If so, any guidance would be appreciated. I am in my seventies but willing to have a go.

Unhygienic fridge
I also live in the tropics and have flies in my fridge most nights and there is no way they are getting in when I open the door for items I need. I'm very disappointed as I love everything else about this fridge, but flies are disgusting.

Would never buy another Sharp product again
When I bought this fridge I was very happy with its size, design and overall performance. I put up with the broken hinges on the plastic crisper bins, and this appears to be a common fault among this model fridge. Then I had the electrical circuit board fail about 2 weeks after the warranty ran out (2 years old). The sharp customer service leaves a lot to be desired. They refused to cover any of the work performed by a not so local independent service technician as they contract this service out. At first he replaced the thermostat and after an...Read more

They seemed to think that two years was an acceptable timeframe for the life of the circuit board. Great quality and service???? Not. Even charged me for the part that wasn't broken but was replaced2 comments

The most unhygienic fridge I have ever owned
My 'dream' refrigerator, purchased when I built my home two years ago, is full of dead flies every evening. No, there is no way I can let that many in, in thirty seconds opening the fridge for milk in the morning. Just me. Thirty seconds to get the milk for my coffee and cereal. Still debating both this issue and the fact that the plastic in the meat trays stores meat juices and impossible to wash. Ugh. It was suggested I had maybe let maggots breed (for two years?? Unsighted? In a cold refrigerator??? I'm in the tropics, I have no fly screens, never have. It has never been a problem until this fridge.
Door space.

onths. You finally organised someone to do diagnostics on dead flies and he confirmed there was damage to the clips on the fridge doors which has obviously been there since I got it. So he did a report to you. That was about 6-8 weeks ago. Today I got an independent repairman in to check the lack of coldness in the fridge and he says I have a lemon. It has been leaking gas and the compressor is on 24/7.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Love it Love it!
Bought the SJF60PC-WH just over 2 years ago. Absolutely love it. The freezer & fridge has so much usable space. The drawers store so much fresh food, 3lt milk bottle, Julie & Jug of water easily fit in the door. Small part under fridge door has broken off, however the Sharp customer care team have been fantastic in providing support.
So much usable space in every compartment.

I wouldn't pick any other, I am in love with my fridge
I truly love this fridge it is a fantastic size and I would even consider the next size up but I was lucky to buy this fridge when the local Retravision had a ripper of a special and Sharp at the time also had a really good redemption so the price difference was not worth the extra space. My hubby hates the fact I bought a fridge that does not do crushed ice but I don't like how much room you lose with ice makers, it would have been handy but with a family of 5 going on 6 space is everything. My extended family are so impressed with this fridg...Read more
e my mother and uncle are both looking to buy one each. It looks fantastic not being shiney stainless I don't have to worry about little finger prints all day every day and inside it is so easy to keep clean and organised. My only fear is the plastic parts ie. the freezer draws my not hold up to well over the years but only time will tell. So much space. the freezer having draws instead of just one big basket is great I like having ice cream separate from peas etc and pre cooked meals. It is so easy to organise and is so efficient that you only have to open one side/draw not one large door or draw. The veggie crisper is a great side. The whole fridge is easy to clean. When left open it beeps which is great if you have children leaving the door open all the time. not a lot of upright drink space most of the time I have soft drink bottles lying on their side on the bottom shelf. No ice maker on the front which my hubby HATES but I find the design is ice friendly with the 2 twist ice trays and it does freeze relatively quick.Similar opinion? Terrible
Funnily enough, I never ever considered the ability to have the fridge serviced when I purchased it as a "must" to investigate. Took for granted that as we were suburban Zone 1 that we would be covered. But we are not. Sharp are not concerned that I have this issue with my fridge, don't know what to do next. Just WAITING for a service call out. I have asked for a new fridge as it was broken when it arrived, but they said that have to repair it, but DON'T HAVE ANY REPAIRERS in the AREA....

This is our second (purchased in 2009) - (we still have the first) Sharp fridge. The latest one is a four door "French style" I think they call it. The fridge at top, freezers at bottom. Can't fault the operation of the fridge or freezer. The vegie compartments (3) one large two small, keep the vegies for ages. No frosting etc, that was an issue with the first fridge but that was probably because the crisper was at the bottom of the fridge (cold air sinks?). The shelves in the fridge are glass and easy to clean and remove if necessary. Doors ...Read more
open wide and will let you know if you've left the door open, even a little bit. The lights are great good and bright and on both sides of fridge. I purchased this appliance without seeing one in the "flesh" (because the old one was 15 years old and still going strong). Because of the design, adjusting the shelves to take taller items is awkward as it will mean another shelf space will end up very narrow. Anything tallish needs to be housed in the door, Limited space- hence our water bottles etc are stored in the old fridge unless they can be laid down. The freezer is terrific. Love being able to slide out a drawer to find goods at the back. We have one side for meat and the other for frozen vegies meals etc. the ice trays are really long and work well. (this is not a fridge that is plumbed in- you have to manually fill them up. ) Outside is easy to clean though you have to be careful the cloth your using doesn't have and grit or roughness about it as the surface scratches easily. The fridge is noisy. It pops, grinds and whirs but it's not overly intrusive but a bit worrying sometimes sounds like things are breaking! Manual does say that this as normal operation. Electricity usage: We were worried that this being a bigger fridge than our last one that our electricity bill would skyrocket but it has not increased the bill at all. We got rid of our old outdoor drinks fridge-only (another brand) and put the old Sharp outside as the drinks and ice unit. Seems the old outdoor fridge used more power to run a smaller unit than it does to run both the big Sharps. One star off only because of the outside surface being easy to scratch. Reliable, keeps vegies well, looks good. No apparent increase to electricity bills having gone from a 300 Litre approx fridge and a 412 ltr Sharp to both Sharps - at 412 and 602 ltrs Outside surface could be more durable. Not the sort of fridge you can put magnets on in case they scratch. Old Sharp surface was brilliant. Noisy operation if that bothers you.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Love this fridge. All my friends have fridge envy. Heaps of space for everything. Have not experienced any problems- food stays fresh, no frozen lettuce and tomatoes in the fridge. Have moved house twice with this fridge and have not had any problems with denting. Shop around to get a good price
Exterior design, draws in the freezer no wasted space, glass shelving,
Shelving spacing is not adjustable. The open door warning a blessing and annoying when loading big shops

LOVE THIS FRIDGE!
This is the best looking, most generous and functional fridge I have ever owned. I love the spacious and wide shelving which comes into its own when entertaining. Everything that is on every shelf is visible. There is no chance of small jars receding into oblivion to slowly rot. The main vegetable container is much more spacious than it looks. I am constantly amazed at how much I can get into it. The wide shelving in the door for tall bottles is just perfect. I love that the freezer drawers are solid and slide in and out perfectly smoothly...Read more
without tilting backwards which in other fridges causes unfrozen liquids to spill. This fridge I love. Worth every penny!! Beautifully streamlined; keeps food fresher for longer; well designed and configured drawers and shelving that are perfect for entertaining and everyday living. The shelves are not adjustable. This has not been a problem for me as I find the configuration works well. It could be an issue for others, though.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
I've fallen in love with my fridge
The shelves are perfectly positioned for the height challenged and make for easy cleaning and accessibility. The 5 freezer drawers (plus 2 ice-trays) will satisfy those with tendencies, as freezer food can be readily "filed." It even talks to me to remind me when I've left the door open! The negative is the fact that it is quite deep and even in my relatively modern kitchen, it protrudes from the benches and oven by 19 cms.
It's beautiful and has many special features
It is quite deep

Excellent
Excellant fridge/ freezer. We bought this fridge to replace our smaller fridge and chest freezer. I am glad we did. The layout of this fridge works very well. large baskets on the doors, wide shelves, large vegie drawer easy to clean (white colour model). The freezer has good sized pull out drawers and an ice cube tray, The only negative is that their is a fair variance in temperature in the frigde section between the top and bottom shelf and the default temperature means that the bottom shelf is too warm.
a wide fridge, so you can easily store platters, cakes, pizzas. Large freezer section with pull out drawers
some temperature variation in the the fridge

Questions & Answers
Roxy W.asked
Mine is 8 years old. The fridge started freezing up, about 3 years ago. A technician came and seem to take everything apart, broke one of the fridge draws, which I then had to replace (he said collateral damage - not his problem). He said he would order a new thermostat (I think). I never heard from him again, and the fridge seemed to work ok till now. We had a 10 hour power cut on the weekend. Since then, the fridge was not cold and the freezer was icing up. A technician came yesterday, and diagnosed the fan and replaced it. Since then, it seemed to be working. However, it seemed too cold this morning and this afternoon the fridge is freezing. Tech is coming back this afternoon. However, having read the previous posts, it seems to be a chronic problem.
