Hi, my sharp fridge ( same as model mentioned above ) makes weird noises for couple months now at different times of the day, it sounds like glass bottles clanging together for a few seconds, it will repeat this 3-4 times then won’t do it again for hours, any ideas?

Hi
I purchased this fridge from Masters in Dec 2015
I have been very happy with it until today when I noticed the glass front on the freezer compartment is lifting. I am concerned it may become completely unstuck
I am aware that is it just out of manufacture warranty, but was wondering where I can get this fixed, is it a known issue?
I did pay for masters extended warranty which is valid til December 2020 and I believe they are still honouring these warranties.
Hope you can help me

Just wanting to know we purchased this fridge a couple months back we notice a loud bang pop sound like someone dropping a brick sound is this normal?, and it's also freezing food if near back of fridge but food right at front is the normal temp feels like half the space is wasted if I can use entire shelves

Hi Nicola,
I have never had a load bang noise from the fridge. Can't reallu help you with that.
My fridge does the same thing, but only if the item is touching the back of the fridge.
We did have an issue about 2 years ago can't remember what it was but had someone from sharp come out and they changed something, haven't had an issue since. If you have any problems call sharp. They were really helpful and was all covered by my warrenty.

We bought this fridge around a week ago, page 5 in the instructions (and an extra instruction sheet included with the front cover/foot supports)tells you to insert supports in the front feet. I did as instructed, the fridge is clearly leaning back way too far. I contacted Sharp customer support, she read what I was reading, put me on hold, came back and told me the name of the local service agent so that I could book a service call. I spoke to them, they confirmed it had way too much lean, thinking my fridge was somehow faulty I went back to Harvey Normans and had a look at their two display fridges. All the feet were at the lowest setting with no supports fitted. I now read where other people on this website were asking the same question months ago. Instead of asking me to contact customer support why don't you answer this question here and now, is this fridge meant to lean back around 50mm off vertical because that is what happens if you follow the instructions.

Hi Peter,
Thank you for your question. We have spoken to our technical support team and they have advised it is normal for the refrigerator to lean backwards a bit as per the operational manual. However as your unit does lean back 5cms, it may be best not to have the support plastics installed. If you do require any assistance in the future, please do not hesitate to contact us via [email protected].

Thanks for your reply. It would seem highly likely that all these fridges lean back too far if you follow the instructions, the very least Sharp could do is make sure their customer care staff are aware of this.
Hi Peter, my fridge also leans back at an angle, however I've spoken to a friend who works at one of the major white good retailers and he took a look and informed me that it is quite normal. The fridge may look kinda out of alignment with your fridge recess (well it does for mine at least) but its nothing to worry about. The tilt is also a good thing because if something happens to fall over in the fridge then it won't easily roll out onto the floor and break but stay within the fridge.
Mayasked
1. Can you please explain how much tilt there should be on our new (Monday 12/6/17) SJ-XP580G between the front and the back. My husband removed the foot supports as he felt it leaned too far back.
2, I currently have the operation set on Energy Saving and would like to change it to normal operation for the fridge and freezer but am unclear from the Op Manual which one is the general operating mode.
Thankyou, May

Hi, love the fridge. However, the instructions say it should be installed onto a board and not the floor. can you expand on this small note in the manual? should the board be at the back so that it doesn't lean back so far?
thanks, Duncan

I bought one of these new just last week and the interior lights in both fridge and freezer haven't worked since the first time I plugged it in, am I missing something? I read the instructions and it doesn't say anything about how to turn on/off.
