Smeg c9gmxa free standing oven - oven works but the clock flashes with an A on the left of the display and if you reset the power an upwards counting minute (from 0.00). I am unable to reset or adjust the time by holding the two buttons simultaneously or get anything to change. Any thoughts on this. - have replaced this clock 3 times (or was informed it needed to be by service tech)......will replace the oven before they charge me for another clock!

Does the A clear if you hold the Start Cook and Stop Cook buttons down simultaneously? Numbered 1-5 L-R they're buttons 2&3.
It sounds like it's in auto mode and you just need to switch it back to manual. Resetting power will reset the clock to 0:00 which is then your counting timer. But that wouldn't cancel auto mode.
I've had problems with there being dirt behind the buttons of a similar controller before and it was similarly stuck in auto. It needed a lot more force to get them to register so that I could return it to manual mode.

Hi we have bought a SMEG oven DOSPA6395X. We have been using the fan forced mode mostly. Suddenly the 'fan forced' words have disappeared from the display panel. The fan assisted mode is not very useful. Can you please advice how to fix it?thanks. Saumitra

Hi Nivek,
Sounds like it could be an issue with the thermocouple which needs to be adjusted or replaced and isn't a major job.
Please contact our Service Department on 02 8667 4833 to arrange service.

This oven has been great up until recently when a few things have started to go wrong. The oven takes forever to heat up and often does not even reach the desired set temp even after being on for several hours. The timer alarm has a mind of its own and sometimes goes off when set but also the volume adjusts itself as it sees fit beeping so lightly that you can’t hear it unless standing right next to it. I have turned the power off to reset clock and now I can’t adjust the time at all as the buttons do not respond??? Any help?

Hi I have a C9GMXA. The rear 2 circular elements have stopped working. The top and bottom elements are working. I replaced the 2 circular elements with new SMEG elements and still no heat. Any ideas?
Thanks Chris

HI.
My oven only heats on one element. Both elements are serviceable as indicated by swapping them over. How is the power delivered to the elements? In parallel or in series? Is power delivered separately to each element via the main switch?

After cooking a roast I turned my oven off only to find 10 min later the rear left element glowing bright red and the fan still on. There was a very strong burning smell. The oven was completely turned off but still heating... I had to turn the oven off at the mains to get it to turn off and when turned back on at mains it did exactly the same thing but with no fan ( I presume the fan was still on as cooling the oven from the roast). I'm massively concerned as this was when the oven was turned off and could happen when no one at home or when asleep! Please advise!

We purchased a Smeg SA 9010 freestanding 90cm cooker through our builder, moving in recently. I have noticed that when using the oven after ìt heats up the oven becomes quite noisey which is very annoying as we have an open kitchen/family area. Is this normal? I hope not, I have never had an oven where the fan has been so loud.
